37 [M4F] Traveling IT gypsy looking for womenfolk to have abstract, weird conversation with. I have a beard and can probably fix your computer.

I figure most people post pics of them at their best, so here's me having a blood pressure crash.

My job has me travelling the country pretty regularly so I'm rarely in one place for too long but I still have a mighty need to socialize with other humans I don't work with.

I'm chatty and nerdy and usually speak in movie references or song lyrics.

I'm 5 months out of a 6 year abusive relationship and leaving is honestly the best thing I've ever done for myself. Also she set the bar pretty fucking low so if you're a functional, reasonably nice human, you're already ahead.

I like animals and video games and playing video games while being a bed for animals.

I used to know HTML and I know what it feels like when Spiderman shoots web from his wrist. Ask me how!

I find it strangely comforting to sit in a cold hotel room and flip channels until I fall asleep.

I'm 5'9 and fat but I can probably lift your couch.

It's opposite day, my favorite womenfolk!

I'm at the heaviest, most miserable part of my period and (stupidly?) decided to step on the scale anyway this morning, fully expecting to pout for the rest of the day about water I'm retaining after not having lost any weight whatsoever for three weeks.

When I looked down, I'd actually LOST A POUND AND A HALF. I got off and back on the scale, like, 9 times. It was real, and I'm not living in Bizarre World (I think)! I didn't do anything different, didn't change what I ate or my macros or exercise. I actually are a ton of cream cheese yesterday. Maybe cream cheese is the key to menstrual weight loss. Wouldn't life be great if that was the truth?

Whatever it was, I realized I don't even know what to expect from this wonderful and confusing WOE anymore. I thought I knew everything after nearly eight months, but it's constantly surprising me in (mostly) great ways!

25M, moving in with 2 womenfolk soon. Never lived with a girl before, help me fit in!

Hi :)

As in the title, I'm 25 and I'm a guy. I'm moving in with 2 girls around the same age soon and I'm just looking for advice to not seem so much like 'the guy' in the house, who they need to worry about coming on to them or whatever.

I'm 99% sure there will have been a thread like this before, so links are welcome if you know of them. I couldn't find any, but found something similar about a girl moving in with a few guy friends and some of the comments in there were helpful.

It sounds like the consensus is that girls like living with guys because I'm not going to steal your cosmetics, 'borrow' your hair products or whatever. We have a cleaner for communal areas of the house so hopefully mess won't be an issue - our own mess will be confined to our rooms. I guess what I'm looking for is how to integrate into the house - the 2 girls already live there. I don't want to turn up with pockets full of tampons pretending I understand what they're up to in the bathroom, but I want to make sure they're comfortable with me because I want a harmonious home where we can go out and have a meal and a few drinks without them having in the back of their mind that I'm getting them drunk to sleep with them! Or is this not on your minds at all? God this sounds weird, but I hope you get what I'm talking about :)

Am I just over thinking this? First time I've lived with girls and we won't meet until the day I move in, so I just have this nagging thought in my head that they would prefer 3 girls and having a guy around the house will be bad. I should also add that we're all working professionals, not students. (edit: also incase there's any cultural difference, we are in London, England).

Thanks!

Update: Wow, thanks for all the info and conversation :D I had to run out yesterday but I'm getting to your replies now, I'm sure I'll have questions :P Again thanks for all of your time!

Wedding BEC: The Womenfolk of my Lineage (Long)

So u/queenofthera requested that I share my stories from my wedding planning, which is ongoing and nuts.

Background: FDH and I are on the young side, but he's completely independent from his family. I am only dependent on mine in that I decided to pursue higher education and I'd rather not sell my soul to student loan sharks. Also, my mom gets fantastic health insurance. Due to my schooling and his work schedules, we are on a time crunch. We have determined that we will be getting married around this time next year, that we will not be accepting financial help from either family, and that we will likely get legally married once he comes home from work stuff overseas. Thus, let the tales begin.

So, the best way to start this is to tell you about my maternal grandmother. If we go to [insert any big box department store here], my family and I can typically be in and out within a half-hour to an hour. If we take my grandmother with us, we must set aside a 3 to 5 hour block of time, as she must look at every single handbag and every single pair of shoes twice before she'll make a decision. My mom is the same way, but with wedding venues. FDH and I have been browsing online and sending links back and forth, getting ideas about where we may want to go look once he gets home. My mother has called me while I'm studying several times over the last couple months to ask if I looked at the venues she sent me, what my opinions are, etc. Then, when I provide my usual noncommittal answer, she tuts and repeats some variation of how this would be "so much easier" on her if I would let her help and didn't insist on FDH to come home before making a choice.

My grandma and my mom planned my mom's wedding together with almost no input from my dad. It took them 2 years to pull it together. Naturally, this is how all weddings should be done and I'm "stressing" her out by not having more time, in spite of the fact she's not involved and I have it under control.

My immediate family unit is small (a variety of deaths, estrangement, and lack of procreation), but I have a good amount of extended family living in [state]. I have never met most of this family, and I'm not terribly close to the ones I have. FDH's family unit is much larger, but he's not fond of them for a variety of reasons. We've agreed we want our wedding to cap out around 80 people. That way, we can have immediate close family, our closest friends, and give each set of parents some invites for others to keep the pe

How can us womenfolk make YOU feel attractive, gentlemen?

In light of the recent AskWomen comment that made /r/bestof, I thought it'd be appropriate for us to all get some insight into how a lot of men like to be complimented. It's fairly easy to compliment most women, but not really the same for men. I'm sure there has been a similar thread at some point but I want more answers!

  • How can we make our boyfriends feel sexy, other than just jumping their bones?

  • Anything in particular you like to hear from the women you're dating, or any little gestures she could do that you'd really appreciate?

Thanks, guys!
