My friend managed to convince a manager to sell him a 1 gallon jug of the atomic wing sauce for the price they pay but this was years ago. The reason I ask is because the wingstop near me has terrible reviews and I'd rather just pay for the sauce and make my own wings, willing to deal under the table for it to with cash. I don't know if this is a fireable offense or not im just curious.

Usually my Popeyes and Wingstop restaurants always have the food ready to go 90% of the time. Subway and Wendys though are the real awful ones for me.
Wendy's STILL has their lobbies closed after 2 years of the whole covid shit and their drive thrus are packed and slow even when they only have to worry about those customers. God forbid they don't open their doors at least for online and delivery orders.
Not sure why but a lot of the Subways in my area are super understaffed and under trained. If you go there you're probably gonna be spending a lot of time waiting and if you pay attention the sandwiches are horribly messy. Which means the customer might take it out on you with a a low rating.
I get a pickup and head there, I'm about 5 minutes before the pickup time, I see a bag on the shelf. But it's not mine, mine is still being made. I had to wait 10 minutes after the pickup time to get it.
Deliver it it's a slow night like usual on Thursday, Then I head towards Chickfila where is says it's busy but I was gonna keep going and go home instead, not waiting around for free.
then I get another ping and have to backtrack to the Wingstop,
I decide to park and was not gonna go right in but the pickup time was in 2 minutes.
I see the guy who works there outside bald ponytail older man, at first I saw 2 guys in the real view mirror and it looked like a drug deal I saw him hand something small to the guy who put it in his pocket, then as I got out the car I saw it was ponytail.
Then I go inside and see food cooking and a person sitting on the bench waiting I figure he's DD too.
So now I'm waiting 10 minutes, ponytail walks in finally and says DD.
That bag that was sitting there for 30 minutes or more that I saw the first time I went in was my pickup,. I was pissed but I didn't say anything.
Some other Dasher must have accepted it and never gone to pick it up.
I just picked up a doordash at my local wingstop and the employee filled up the drink for the order by herself, I didn't say anything, mind blown.
I wrote a follow-up email this morning and sent it to the superintendent and copied the school board. I included a link the first post, and let them know that it had gotten almost 3 million views, and the overwhelming majority of the comments agreed with me. I suggested that they take a look at some of your comments and realize that this is a serious issue. Then I asked what the county’s protocol is if a teacher is under investigation for having sex with a student – is that teacher allowed to remain in the classroom? I also asked at what point does the school/county become liable if Gaetz meets his next “girlfriend” at an event like this, and the county did nothing to prevent it? I mentioned that I had not heard from anyone, but that I was aware that Mr. Chambers (the superintendent) had been responding to others, and that the gist of his response seems to be shrugging the whole thing off. I ended with “I don't have a child in the school system, but I am a taxpayer and a voter. I've been in contact with a reporter from Newsweek, and I have no intention of dropping this.”
A few hours later, I got a call from the superintendent. I’m not gonna lie, this is so far out of my wheelhouse. I was so nervous. I knew I would be posting an update, so I wanted to record the conversation just to make sure I accurately quoted him. I asked if I could record the call, and he said he’d rather not, that he just wanted to have a conversation. I assume it was for the same reason that he’s responding to emails with phone calls in the first place – to not have a record of what he has said. He gave me the same spiel he’s giving everybody else. It’s not his event, he’ll be there, most of the parents will be in attendance, blah blah blah. I let him know that it’s at a school, so ultimately it IS his event. He did agree with that. He started by saying that it’s an investigation and there were no charges or arrests. I asked if they would wait for charges to be filed and an arrest to be made if it were a teacher. Would that teacher still be in the classroom? He said no, they would be put on administrative leave. I asked what the difference was and he paused and said “you would win that argument” but didn’t go any further. I wish I would

I would like to voice my concern about the upcoming "Academy Night" at Niceville High School. As I understand it, this is an informational meeting where students interested in the service academies can meet with Matt Gaetz. I understand that in order to apply for service academies, students need a nomination from their representative, senator, or the vice president. The students NEED his endorsement, and there is nothing that your office can do about that, which again, I fully understand.
Matt Gaetz is under federal investigation for having sex with a 17 year old girl (the news keeps calling this sex with a minor. In Florida, the age of consent is 18, so this isn't just "sex with a minor". That's rape.) and paying for her to travel across state lines, violating sex-trafficking laws.
It is absolutely vile that the school system would invite someone currently under investigation for rape and sex-trafficking into the school to speak to 17 year old girls and put them in a position where they have to ask him for a favor. This investigation has been ongoing for a long time, so the county has had plenty of time to come up with an alternative to allowing him to speak at the school. Any information he needs to give out can easily be done via email, or even a Zoom call with interested students and their parents.
It seems to me that the school system should not allow someone under investigation for sex with minors anywhere near a school, if for no other reason than out of an abundance of caution. Instead, however, you are quite literally giving him access to potential new victims, and directing them to ask him for something. I would think that the safety of students would be a top priority for Okaloosa County, but this decision leads me to believe otherwise. If a teacher is under federal investigation for sex with a student, does that teacher stay in the classroom teaching while the investigation is ongoing? I’m fairly certain I know the answer.

Edit: Just got home from class. Thanks guys for all your votes; looks pretty overwhelmingly NTA. I thought so, but then I'm also a huge pushover so standing up for myself made me feel really guilty, and also they were being so incredibly rude about it that it had me questioning my own sanity lol

I feel kind of shitty for this but then part of me feels like I wasn’t the one in the wrong here.
My college campus has a huge outdoor seating/dining area. About 90% of it is normal tables of various sizes. The other 10% is a smoking section that is kind of tucked out of the way of the rest of the outdoor area. Other than location, the only difference is that the tables in the “normal” area are of various sizes while the tables in the smoking section all have 4 seats.
When I went out for lunch, there was nobody in the smoking section. I sat down and lit a cigarette. A few minutes later I saw two women walking towards me with lunches in hand, and they took a seat at a table (in the smoking section) nearby.
Shortly after sitting down one of the women approached my table and asked me to put my cigarette out. Thinking that they didn’t realize where they were, I politely said, “Oh actually this is the smoking area.” She said, “I know, but we don’t smoke and it’s bothering us.” I was really confused so I said, “I’m sorry but if you sit over there [pointing toward the non-smoking section] you won’t be bothered by the smoke.” She rolled her eyes at me and said, “there’s no more big (4-seat) tables left over there.” When I pointed out that there were only 2 of them, and therefore could sit at a smaller table, she said, “yeah but we like to spread out when we eat.”
I’m really self conscious about smoking. I know it’s a horrible habit and I try to be extremely cognizant of making sure that my smoking isn’t affecting anyone else, so I was JUST about to acquiesce and put my cigarette out. But then I thought, no, this area is specifically for me and I’m not doing anything wrong by using it for its intended purpose. So I said, as politely as possible, “I’m really sorry but this area was designed for smokers. If you don’t want to be around smoke you’ll have to go to the non-smoking area.”
She huffed away and for the rest of the time I was sitting there the two women were talking loudly about “the nerve of some people,” and, “can you believe how RUDE and INCONSIDERATE some ASSHOLES can be these days??!”

So around a year ago my mother "caught" someone texting me at 3 AM, this is due to different time zones. According to her, everyone on the internet is a pedophile, homicidal psychopath, a rapist, etc. I THINK this is due to her watching all those crime documentaries about people getting kidnapped or killed because they met the wrong person online. I find all this absurd but I also feel bad for lying to her, since I still have online friends although I'm now hiding it from her. Once again, I feel horrible but I still want to have more online friends because they are all better than my real life friends.
Edit: i am very careful about what I say and i do not give anyone any personal information. I know that my mom loves me, but I find this a little bit annoying.
Edit 2: i would like to thank everyone who helped me with this, ill admit i thought i was the only one right and not her but some of the replies really made me think again. And by "online friends" i meant people i met playing games with, i have no interest in meeting them, being "close" with them, etc.

Expect people to somehow leap out of their way when there's oncoming traffic and they can't safely pass, instead of just slowing down a bit and passing after the oncoming traffic. If you can't do that, the trail is too busy for you to be going that fast.

Sometimes hurl profanity at those of us who they perceive as being "in their lane." (Seriously, what am I supposed to do, hurl myself and my toddler into the underbrush so you can pretend like you make good use of your $2k racing bike? It's 10am on a Saturday, get out here 5 hours earlier if you need to go that fast.)

Public urination. I get it, if it's an emergency and you have to go, you gotta go. Hell, even if it's just super early or super late and you just kind of gotta go, it's not a huge deal to discretely find a tree or bush or something. But 8:30am on a Saturday while I'm out walking my daughter? And you just stroll over to the bush closest to your car in the trail parking lot? C'mon guys, you don't own this space, either find a bathroom or hold it until you get home.
And I hate to say it, as I'm a middle-aged white guy, but but it is 100% of the time middle-aged white guys that are causing these issues. I'm on that trail almost every day, and I never have these issues with someone who isn't in my demographic.
Been working in an independent retail store while I was in uni on a part time contract, I've finished up uni and just accepted a position that pays me well, I handed in my two weeks notice, it was accepted by a manager, told my new employer when I was ready to start.
Today one of the store owners told me I need to take 4 weeks notice and that they weren't accepting my two weeks, a week after handing it in. Clearly this interferes with my plans to start my new job.
Do they have any recourse if I just stop working after the two weeks notice I laid out originally and that was accepted? I don't really care about losing out on sick pay, holiday pay etc as it's a minimal loss. I do not need a reference from this place as my new position was applied for using references from other places I've worked and more relevant to my new position.
Hey writer. How old are you? I'm 26 and I'm starting to panic, thinking about the fact that maybe the world is full of teenager or young adult fanfiction writers and I'll eventually be too old for this.
This one will be brief - the event is still scheduled and Gaetz is still attending. Thanks to you guys though, we are getting national attention! Newsweek published this article this morning, and I believe Vanity Fair should be publishing one shortly as well (I'll update the post with that link when it comes out). Thank you so so much to everyone that has participated in this discussion and for all of the many encouraging and helpful messages I have received from all over. I haven't gotten a chance to reply to all of them, but I truly appreciate them. Covid finally caught a hold of me, and I've been laid up since the weekend, but I've read them all.
I keep telling myself that even if this event doesn't get cancelled, this post and the public outcry has brought some much-needed attention to the issue, and hopefully people that were all-in on voting for Gaetz are reconsidering their position.
On a personal note, if you have thought about getting more involved and haven't because you don't feel like it will do any good - do it! It'll feel great!
Update - I sent the email to the superintendent and the school board. The only response I’ve gotten is from one school board member. All she said was that she’d follow up. Several people have been sending emails, and other people have been getting responses. This is what one woman posted about it on Facebook: The superintendent called me after he received my email. He said that Gaetz does this event every year. It looks like it will continue to be held at Niceville High, with Gaetz as the presenter. Chambers told me that he spoke with Gaetz and was reassured that no agenda would be pushed, and there would be no speech, he would simply be handing out the assignments to students.”
Again, this is not a response that I personally got, just one that I heard about.
This is not an acceptable response. Gaetz speaking to the students individually is worse than him giving a speech. At least with a speech, everyone can hear what is being said. Instead, he'll be interacting with the students one on one. Also, just because Gaetz has always done the event doesn’t mean that it can’t and shouldn’t be changed. I’ll be sending a follow-up email tonight. I'm going to suggest that if the superintendent refuses to cancel, at the least, he can require parents' attendance.
I encourage anyone that feels compelled to send an email as well to do so. I’m not going to post contact info, but it’s easily accessible on the Okaloosa County School District site.
