Bought a 2020 SV650X about a month back and absolutely loving it. Getting back into the sport after many years off, and coming from a supersport. Only thing I am not loving about the SV is the 0 wind protection. Didn't really think I would care but it makes anything at or above highway speeds kind of unpleasant.. Anyone ever seen the X model fitted with a windscreen? Love the way the bike looks and don't really want to take away from it's aesthetic but might be worth considering!
Earlier today whilst I was in my car, I was driving down a dual carriageway, so was going 70mph. At one point I noticed something flying towards my windscreen. At first I thought it was a small leaf just blowing in the wind, but as it got closer, I noticed it was a pretty big fly. I moved my hand towards the wiper stalk, expecting the fly to smush over the windscreen, but it never did. It instead ended up in my car.
I had no windows open, as I said, I was driving fast, plus it's a cold day, so wouldn't have any windows open. It's like the fly just flew into my car as if there was no window there to stop it. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw it flying around in the back, I was completely dumbfounded. I quickly opened all the windows, and within a few seconds it flew out and was gone.
Obviously just to clarify, I'm not on any medication, or under the influence of anything, so should be as clear minded as I can be.
Oh, and of course, there are no holes in my windscreen the fly could have squeezed through.
Glitch in the matrix? Or am I finally losing the plot?
I have a small chip and autoglass is charging out its fucking hole. Not keen on going through insurance I'm sure I'll be punished severely for the stray stone I dared drive through.
I’m looking to put a windscreen on my ‘99 650 classic. I use my bike to commute on the freeway. Was wondering what screens and mounts worked the best for our bikes? Thanks
My father bought a brand new Forester about a year ago. He loved it.
A few weeks ago he discovered a crack in the windscreen and had it replaced. All good.
A couple of weeks ago, he and my mother were on holiday in another part of the country. They got up one morning and the car wouldn’t start. Roadside assistance got them going again but the next morning the same problem occurred. So they got the car started by roadside assist again and drove several hours to a Subaru dealer to investigate.
The dealer found that the windscreen had not been sealed properly and water had leaked into the wiring and ECU and multiple systems had failed. Two new wiring looms are being sent from Japan to replace the faulty ones. Subaru, windscreen repairer, and two insurance companies are now involved.
3+ months to get parts and fix.
Police can fine you for not doing so.
Snow left on the bonnet can fly up into your windscreen, obscuring your vision.
Snow on the roof can fly off and hit the car behind.
Both are dangerous.
Clear your cars properly people!
So I had a crack in my windscreen. Went to get it replaced but the guys a autoglass said they wouldn't do it as when they took the plastic covering off at the bottom of the windscreen where the wipers are, they said there was rust.
I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what the part under the plastic covering is called, and also how much would you expect to pay for the replacement part and the labour to fix it.
Or if someone could tell me if there's a rust treatment that would work.
Anyone know which windscreen will fit a 2021 MT-07? Or if there any out yet? Accessories are becoming difficult to find for this latest model
Great start to my week.
