Happened to a colleague of mine.
If car insurance includes “windscreen cover.” Does it affect premiums and no-claims discount is I were to call my insurer to replace the windscreen when there’s no one at fault of the damage? Does this answer change when there is someone else at fault or if I’m the one at fault?
I have my basic driving soon, and am issued with a S9 by my force. I'm not even in for a full year yet, and while I do know most of the main roads, I certainly don't know enough to navigate without navigation.
I would use the S9 for my own car as well, so it won't only be used for whatever car I get my hands on, but for my car as well.
Can I just get whatever cheapest mount I can get on eBay, or are there go-to mounts already known?
Why the force does not have any mounts in vehicles already is beyond me, but hey, I don't have much of a choice.

Afternoon all. Currently looking for some recommendations from fellow gen 3 owners, 2016+ for a windscreen and new tyres. What are you lot running?
I am going to be taking a long drive to visit my parents and I want to have a Dash Cam mounted for my own protection. ORS says you cannot mount anything to the windscreen as it will obstruct your field of view.
I am ok with mounting it to my actual dashboard, but the cameras are designed in such a way that if I invert them, the image will also be inverted. Any suggestions on how to mount it or a camera that can flip the image would be greatly appreciated.
I love the look of naked bikes and I love my MT-09 naked, but I ride it to work everyday and take the interstate to do so. If I have any head wind I feel like I'm holding on for dear life to not be blown off (I'm 6'2"). Does anyone have any experience with some of the touring windscreens out there? Do they make any difference?
Per title. I thought maybe it was for a jobsite or something but seen them more and more as things have opened up.
Hey y’all just bought my first bike you can probably guess what it is... I bought the klr650 mainly due to the fact that i’m 6’6/6’7 and wanted something comfortable to ride, but my windscreen is too small and pretty much sends the wind directly into my face and knocks me around at higher speeds. Any recommendations for bigger windscreens? Probably would need the tallest available
Hey guys, I just bought this new bike and loving it, but I would like a taller windscreen for it, any recommendations? I'd prefer something tinted and something that stands more straight up. Thanks!
Just playing with MYOG windscreens, and I want to understand if it's worth trying to build a conical windscreen or if a good cylindrical windscreen is enough for my needs.
Edit: I know all the advantages of caldera cone (lightness, self-standing, the titanium version can be used ad a wood stove etc etc...). I also know WHY it is more efficient than a conventional windscreen.
But in this post I simply want to know HOW MUCH FUEL will I save using this geometry instead of a simpler cilindrical one. Something like "about 10% fuel saved" or "about 25% fuel saved"...
As an engineer, I need numbers to take decisions.
...Thanks to all! :-)
My front sprayers have stopped working- the motor goes but no liquid. A bit of research suggests that I have ‘gummed’ up the motors by using cheap windscreen solutions.
My issue is I can’t seem to blow air into the system like you can in other BMWs by pulling the pipe off under the bonnet (hood) and just blowing into it with your mouth.
[SOLD] -- Thanks so much guys! That worked out so well I'll totally be back to purge more gear at some point!
Doing a major purge of all the things I've accumulated over the years. This is the debris from trying to go ever more lightweight-- buying new cheap dinky items in the hopes they're light, and hacking away at existing gear.
None of this is high-end, high-quality stuff, but someone else may find some use out of it-- especially if you're just starting out and want some very entry-level lighter-weight gear to dip your toe in with.
I'm giving this all for free, because it's basically garbage, just looking to not pay to ship. I listed individual projected shipping costs with each item, but those will go away if you get multiple things -- I'll just add up the weights/sizes of whatever you want, plug it into the USPS postage calculator, and send you a Paypal link

You might call this BS or choose not to believe it, but here goes. Lately (in the last year or so) I have had some bad luck with stones flying up and hitting my car windscreen while I’m driving. But there’s something strange about it and I’ll use the most recent occurrence to explain. The act of a stone hitting my windscreen always seems to coincide with my subconscious mind (or my subconscious thoughts). Yesterday afternoon, I decided to get out of the house to the shops. Whilst I was driving to the shops, I had a vision or thought in my subconscious mind that in the next few days, my car was going to be parked at the front of my house and the mobile car windscreen replacement company was going to be replacing my windscreen. So, I continue driving to the shops, buy whatever I want, etc. Then when I’m done, I head to my car and I begin my journey back home. I drive for a short distance (maybe about 10 minutes) until I reach the highway. Then, I get onto the on-ramp to begin the merge... keep reading on reddit ➡
I love you but the breathing sounds are getting a bit ridiculous to the point that I can't enjoy the show. I can't be the only one but I searched this sub and haven't found anyone else commenting on this.. I also don't have any (other) social media though so maybe people have asked on twitter or something. Is he just against them? I can sorta hear Josh sometimes but it's very minimal, not nearly as noticeable as Chuck's. Ahhhhh, please!
I have an FJR1300 and the windscreen is a pretty good size. Anyway I find it tough to get all of that splat off when washing the bike. Anybody got any good tips for a good cleaning?
I've been driving my van around all day delivering shite people don't need for a large company nobody likes but everyone uses and I've been suffering in the hot sunny weather we've been having here in the UK recently.
I've been trying to find a film I can apply to the inside of the windscreen to block heat coming in without interfering with seeing where I'm going (and attracting the ire of Mr Plod) but I can't find the right google-fu because I don't know what it's called (I keep finding opaque sheets for parking and films only suitable for rear windows or building windows, none of which are applicable)
The situation is exacerbated by the fact that the wee thermostat that's supposed to control the temperature of my air supply is b0rken and only does hot - I'm going to get that fixed, but I don't have air conditioning, so even with full bore fresh air, I still want to do something extra...
I'm in the UK, so ideally any brands people... keep reading on reddit ➡
Asking for tips from experienced mini guys.
I’m currently fitting my windscreen after scuttle change. Original glass , new aftermarket seal.
Got my window in the seal all around but it doesn’t want to sit flush to the frame. It either wants to be protruding at the top or if you push that in it protrudes at the bottom.
I’ve eyeballed it in place without the seal and it looks like there’s plenty of room. Any tips ? My fingers are toast.
I made some window shades with reflectix wrapped in black fabric for my Prius. The ones on the side back windows stay up perfectly fine by just being shoved in the window but the rear windscreen shade just seems to heavy to be held up.
I've tried magnets and Velcro tape but it just sags and causes heaps of light bleed. Not to mention that it's probably one light movement away from collapsing completely.
Wondering how other people have covered up their rear windscreens and if there's a better way?
Just got my first bike on the 1st of June and I love it. It's an '02 SV650. However when I get up over 70mph the wind really kicks up. I want a bikini fairing or windscreen that helps the bike stay true to it's naked styling but gives me a little bit of a slipstream to tuck into. Can anyone make an experienced recommendation?
