I (27F) think Iβm just in such disbelief and so sad for her that I felt the need to share it here. I suffer hair loss so am a part of a few online wig communities. Quality wigs are NOT cheap and not easy to purchase (they go out of stock extremely fast). Today she posted to the group that her nephew got a hold of it with scissors when no one was watching and cut a huge chunk out of it right at the front. The picture is horrid. The financial blow is enough to give me a heart attack but a lot of people also underestimate the sense of security that wigs can offer females with hair loss. So much of my identity and confidence is wrapped up with my wigs. Luckily sheβs handling it well and even joked that this experience serves as a great birth control for her but oof! My material possessions are important to me and kids potentially ruining them is just another reason for me to not have kids. If thatβs wrong then I donβt want to be right!
Anytime Iβm watching a British crime/court drama, I see the judges, lawyers, barristers?, wearing white wigs, which I associate with like the 1700s. Isnβt it so weird and silly for you guys? Or does it seem normal?
Edit: And furthermore, what seems extra weird, is that they wear them on top of their regular hair cuts. What the hell? I can see your long curly hair Nigel...
Prove me wrong π
I just thought of this and now I'm gonna do it.
