My husband (40/m and I (38/f) are on different wavelengths about childcare

Together 15 years, married for 10.

I'm so confused by this because I thought we had an agreement about things but we seem to think about them differently and just got in an argument about it.

Background: We have a 4 year old daughter who goes to daycare 3 days a week. I work a full-time job traditional hours. I used to work in an office but since the pandemic I've been working from home. My husband has a part-time job that he does on M-W-F when our daughter is in daycare. The agreement was that he would be responsible for childcare on Tuesday and Thursday when she's not at daycare. His job can mostly be done in the times he chooses, but he also has weekly meetings (now over zoom). Most of these meetings are on predictable days and times and don't overlap with his needing to watch our daughter, but there are the occasional exceptions to that.

One such exception was this morning. Our calendars are linked so at 8am I got a notification that he had a meeting at 8:30. He was still asleep so I woke him up. I had no idea he had a meeting this morning and he didn't tell me. He just jumped out of bed, got ready and ran down to his office for the meeting, saying nothing to me about our daughter. I am in my own office and I guess I'm assuming that he had some kind of plan to multi-task with our daughter and the meeting, which he does sometimes. But he apparently didn't because he's started his meeting and our daughter walks into my office in her pjs. So I stop what I'm doing and get her ready for the day. Get her breakfast, etc.

Later, when he's done with his meeting, I tell him that what happened was not okay and he can't just expect me to interrupt my work without planning or asking to watch our daughter. I think I was especially annoyed because he didn't even ask me if I could watch her or thank me for doing it. He got annoyed with me and said he had forgotten about the meeting so he didn't know to ask. And then he said that I don't thank him everyday for watching her so why should he thank me.

So here's where I think we're on different wavelengths. Obviously, it is both of our jobs to care for our daughter, and there have been many times I have taken time off work when I'm not busy to watch her when he has a meeting. I am happy to do it. But I also think that he doesn't appreciate that he is asking me to take time from my job to do this. I think of our arrangement as both of us working 8-5 jobs, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays his job is watching our daughter.

Does anyone else feel like this? Like all your friends have chosen you because you'll give them the time of day & put up with their shit, but the relationships are all very one-way and in many cases they actually drag you down?

I definitely have some people in my life who are energy suckers that I need to lose, but I don't know how to go about it as I know they consider me one of their best friends.

How to find others that are on the same "wavelength" as us? Details inside

Hey all-

For context, my wife and I are both in our mid 30's and will not be having children for a multitude of reasons which are not necessary to get into during this post.

As I get older, what I expected to happen is slowly happening; my core group of great friends is becoming divided because some have chosen to start a family and others have chosen to remain childfree. Relationships are changing, and as much as I hate to admit it, things will never be the way they were before. My friends with children will slowly gravitate towards others that have children, and our friendship will remain but begin to fizzle out. This is fine and expected, though still a little sad.

Anyway, my wife and I will soon be moving to a different part of the country, and having other friends who don't just talk about their children all the time is important to us. I.E., we'd like to meet some others that have chosen to go down the same child-free path that we have. Let me clear in saying that I do not hate people who have children, nor do I believe that I cannot be friends with anyone who has a child! Quite the opposite is true, but I also know from experience that I grow tired from hearing about children all the time (and having to pay attention to them), and need some friends that don't have children.

So, how did you go about making friends that were also childless? Just follow the normal friendship process and get a feel for who does and doesn't have children? Seek out other child-free individuals in specific channels? Let me know your thoughts and thanks for reading!

How can I know which element absorb a certain wavelength?

Hi, I'm working on a group project about a satellite. This satellite will use a multispectral imager to understand the composition of the surface of an asteroid. I'm wondering which wavelengths will be absorbed/emitted from interesting minerals on the surface (lithium, copper, uranium, gold,...) so that we can write some requirements for our imager.

I already looked on the internet, but I can't find an answer, and since I don't have a solid chemistry/physics background I don't know if I'm asking the right question. Are there some tables or documents that can tell me which wavelength is absorbed by a certain element? Also, if more elements will absorb the same wavelength range, how can I tell what's on the surface? Thank you

(Sorry for the messy English, I'm working on it)

"The fact that the wavelength of visible light is so small helps to explain why the wave nature of light took so long to discover." Why?

Quote from this video about the CMB.

Why would the wave character of light be easier to recognize if the wavelength of visible light was longer (in the range of microwaves)? Would we "see" the waves? What would the world look like if visible light wavelengths were in the range of mm instead of nm?

DAE Feel Like They Don't Even Operate on the Same Wavelength as Others For Most Things In Life?

I don't want to be condescending in this post and say that the way I look at life is better than others, but I genuinely feel lost by how most people carry out their lives. Obsessing over social media and being fashionable and attention seeking. Not listening to others and just trying to talk about themselves. Lots of people don't even consider what others are going through. Workplaces make demands of workers and I don't even want to be working, but I have to because that's life I guess. Other people telling me what to do. I just don't get it. I don't operate on the same level as others. I like peace and quiet. I like to let others be free to do what they want. Don't worry, just enjoy life.

You don't feel like hanging out today? No worries I get it. I get depressed sometimes and don't want to talk to anyone. Take some time for yourself. You don't use social media? That's not weird, good for you for doing what you want. If you need someone to talk to, just tell me and I'll listen. You want to be left alone, I'll leave you alone. No worries, no stress, no demanding things or being selfish. No putting others down or judging them. No competition for who's got the best instagram. And if I want to work on something, let me decide what it is. Let me produce something that's valuable instead of being held back by employers who don't care about anything.

If this sounds super depressing, it is. I can't help but see things they way I think they should be. I've given it a lot of thought, and this is how I think life should be. True free will, real empathy, and respect for others.
