i am covering a song and i can't seem to find an utau that has the vocal range to sing it any recommendations? i need an utau preferably male with a soft voice that has a a vocal range ranging from A sharp 2 to g4
I'm sidechaining single mono a vocal with an instrumental.
You know when doing that, you're taking the whole frequency range of a vocal and it's affecting the multiband compressor on the instrumental.
But... I want to only use a certain frequency range of the vocal to affect the multiband on the instrumental. I'm using Fab Filter PRO MB
So basically... I only want the bass of the vocal to affect the sidechain compression on the instrumental.. not the whole vocal affecting the instrumental.. if that makes sense.
Thanks for your help everyone!
I'm a 14F, my range is B2-Ab6. I'm around the soprano area
My highest note is a G4 and have to belt to reach it. Any way I can improve my range? Cause I can't sing most of the famous songs in original scale and I'd love to hit at least a B4, and make it a D5.
Hey everyone, I have been trying to find the vocal range of Dennis Haysbert, but its nowhere to be found. Is anyone able to tell what the lowest note he hits is? I think it must be in the 2s if not 1s, but I am curious if anyone knows.
I am a 16 years old girl. My vocal range is E3-A4. Can anybody suggest me exercises and ways to increase my vocal range?
Don't know who needs to hear this but there's an app called Warble that helps you find songs that fits your vocal range! you just put in your vocal range and it brings up heaps of songs... Been a lifesaver for finding songs for auditions and for my rep! Just thought I'd let ya'll know in case there are any other MT students here who have a nightmare of a time looking for songs!
I swear mine has expanded like a full octave and I’m hitting all sorts of notes I never could before. I figure it must be the control over my vocal chords/throat that I had never bothered with before learning to scream.
Voice types are practically obsolete in the contemporary singing world, so why do some people flex being "tenors" and make fun of "baritones", when the latter can train to sing just as high, and the former can sing just as low? Does it come from a place of ignorance? Is it misinformation?
Hello singers of Reddit, 14 year old inexperienced male here. I’m not entirely sure of my range because my range has been completely gone for the last week, however I know that my lowest note is a quiet, ugly E2 and until recently I could go up to somewhere in the 6th octave with what I think is falsetto. I’m not sure about chest voice range. Am I doomed to the fate of becoming a bass? My dream has always been to write my own songs and sing solo but I know basses don’t make it in the pop industry. Even at that, basses are meant to sing more slow and depressing tunes and I don’t want that. What are you guys’ thoughts? What do you think my vocal range will reach?
I just finished episode 127 and I must give my respect to Flak’s dedication. I love how much he leans into character and the situations. I love normal flak, flaghetti, and depressed flak so much.
Someone please help if you can answers would be appreciated
I do love a poll and I’m sure there are many MT performers on here, so let’s see the variety of vocal ranges😛 I can only fit six main ones 😊
Hey, I was wondering if anyone who is knowledgeable on both vocal pedagogy and treasure's vocal line, could tell me the supported ranges of treasure's vocalists.
I have heard yedam supports (although shallow and not the most consistent) up to an F#4/G4 and keeps decent placement till A4 but I haven't seen anything about the other members who have displayed some sense of support, jeongwoo, jihoon and mashiho. If anyone knows their supported range or can help I would appreciate it.
Hello! The reason for this post is mainly to clarify misinformation about Enhypen's Vocal range.
Now I don't really care of a fan is hyping their fave and praising their range. It's perfectly fine. But recent claims have been is that X member has the WIDEST vocal range in Enhypen when it isn't really correct. When they put the word 'widest' in, that is when my head turned, especially because range is objective and measurable.
If a technical claim like is going to be made, there must be some proper evidence used to support this claim.
I have been watching Enhypen member's vocals since I-Land pretty closely so I think I am moreorless accurate most of the time (but please feel free to correct me!)
Also, the range I will only really be considering is what we have seen them sing in I-land and the songs in the B:DO era that is not background vocals because the question of who sings them is still pretty much on debate.
Anyways, let's run through each member!
Known Vocal range (so far) - G2 (Chest, in Let Me In) -> B4 (mixed, in Calling) -> G#5??? (Head Voice/Falsetto, Flicker)
I'm not sure if his 'who' in flicker should count but it is a G#5. But in terms of proper singing, he goes up to B4. The 'who' sound in Flicker suggests he has potential for head voice but we are yet to see it. But his range seems wide though and screams potential.
Known Vocal range (so far) - Bb2 (Chest, Happy Birthday to Niki) -> C5 (Mixed, Into the I-land Finale) -> Eb5 (Falsetto, I Need You)
Not too much to comment but Jungwon's range is actually wider than many egenes give him credit for. I strongly suspect he can go lower than Bb2 and higher than Eb5. Also, the only member capable of mixing a C5 as far as we know (although I swear that Heeseung MAY have sung a C#5 in adlibs but I am not sure about that
Known Vocal Range (so far) - C3 (Chest, 7th Sense) -> B4 (Flame On, Mixed) -> E5 (Head Voice/Falsetto, Flame On)
I'm not 100% sure if his E5 in Flame on was Head Voice or Falsetto. Regardless, his Upper register spans higher than Jungwon's as far as we've seen. His range is also quite good, but we need to see more of his lower register.
Known Vocal Range (so far) - Bb2 (I-Like it, Chest) -> Bb4 (Given-Taken, Mixed) -> Eb5 (falsetto, Given Taken)
Well Sunghoon's range is also not bad.
Edit: KCON yesterday showed an even Higher limit to his mixed voice.
Known Vocal range (so far) - Bb2 (Happy Birthday Niki, C... keep reading on reddit ➡
I swear I've read several times that Dammit was out of Mark's vocal range, causing him to suffer vocal strain when recording Dude Ranch. What exactly does "vocal range" mean in this case? To me it sounds like he's basically shouting the whole time, and I think that really gives the song its unique energy. Is that shouting basically what people mean? Or is there something else to the notes that he sings which makes it particularly difficult? And honestly, I'm not sure that this isn't one of those self-perpetuating urban legends, so please correct me if I'm mistaken.
Also, side note: after listening to Buddha Remastered and then Dude Ranch back-to-back, I swear there are tracks on Dude Ranch where Tom's voice sounds more high-pitched than on Buddha, almost like a chipmunk. Pathetic comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound, but I just find it strange that his voice sounds more mature in some of the Buddha tracks. On the other hand, there are tracks on Dude Ranch (like I'm Sorry) where Tom is kind of shouting/singing and his voice sounds deeper, so maybe he was just experimenting with different styles. Or maybe there was some vocal manipulation going on with the production. Would love to hear if anyone has insight on this.
There's a plethora of guides and techniques for allowing somebody to hit higher notes, but I'm primarily interested in hitting lower notes. My range seems to bottom out at G2 or F2 depending on the time and I'm really looking to get to at the very least E2 if not to D2.
I'm trying to avoid subharmonic singing or throat singing I've learned those over the last several months before finally realizing that I just don't like the way they sound unless they're in some kind of choir.
I find that if I push very hard through my nose I can fluctuate around E2 to D2 but it's not very musical. Every now and then when I'm tired or have woken up I can make it to D2. But otherwise I can't I'd like to permanently add at least E2 to my arsenal.
What techniques or practice methods should I try?
