I never thought id reach a day where I would be able to tune a guitar by ear. Yesterday I was able to do it and it was very satisfying once I checked with the tuner. Took me 6-7 years but oh well I always played guitar for fun and am self taught for the most part.
The thing is that I just kept on playing and tried to figure out songs by ear every now and then and at times play with the ear training app. Seems like being flustered about what you can't do doesn't really help. One day you wake up and you are able to hear things better than before, play that lick you thought was impossible or in this case tune a guitar. Just wanted to share my progress
Edit : Should have mentioned that I'm able to tune once I have the lower E tuned. Not perfect pitch
Edit 2: Thanks for the support everyone! This community has been very supportive and I wish I came across this back when I first started playing
I've been writing scripts as a hobby for about 15 years now, off-and-on, never with the goal of actually selling one. But I wrote a short story late last year that I thought was actually worth developing and forwarded it on to a friend of mine that's a producer. He loved it so much he shopped it out in LA, got a few names attached, and now we're here.
Fairly excited, fully terrified.
E: guys I'm not reading your scripts or giving you roles. I'll offer what little advice I can but otherwise please stop asking and messaging.
After originally posting on his site (dalneitzel.com) that Forrest would be releasing more info in the next few days, Dal put a damper on things this afternoon when he said the following in the comments section of the "Treasure Found" post. Oddly, he gave no additional context to support the speculation provided. Given his closeness to Forrest and seeming "insider" status, I find it significant enough to share:
Forrest may have changed his mind about additional info…
Seems to me that if Forrest or the finder do not release info it is for a very limited set of reasons:
1. It was hidden on National Park Property…but he could still give us the solution…let the rangers ponder the rest
*2. The finder wants to publish a book or film about his solution and the finding and Forrest has agr

If this gains enough traction I may make a public Spotify Playlist.
Preamble: I do not believe in oracles of any kind, I'm not talking about using Tarot cards for fortune telling.
The human mind's affinity for symbols and archetypes is well established in both academic and scientific literature. From superstitions about black cats to Campbell's The Hero's Journey, from how to tell the good guys from the bad guys in movies to the most baroque ornamentation of Catholic cathedrals, our brains parse symbols and archetypes and assign meanings to them instinctively, on an id level. (I'm using "id" in the colloquial sense here, not as a term of psychoanalytic jargon.)
However, each individual's perception and interpretation of the same symbols and archetypes will vary according to that person's culture, lived experience, maturity level and other personal factors. Each person's lexicon of symbols and archetypes is unique, and uniquely meaningful to them.
So what does this have to do with Tarot? The images on Tarot cards are composed entirely of symbol... keep reading on reddit ➡
