I woke up this morning and had realised that over the course of too many years, I have been influenced poorly and spent way too much money on crappy products and “stuff” just trying to indulge a little in the lifestyle they portray. Most significantly, I found myself wanting lip fillers and other cosmetic procedures and obsessing over my makeup collection far too much. Obviously in 2020 we all stayed home a lot so my makeup went largely untouched. This morning I threw out about 70% of my makeup collection. I owned far too much and just couldn’t use it all before it expired. Hundreds of dollars (probably thousands) just wasted to sit on a shelf. Most of it not any better than drugstore basics. Following this, I then deleted my Instagram and tik tok. These “influencers” have influenced me. But the bad far, far outweighs the good. I’m looking forward to saving more money and keeping my makeup collection basic and just with my absolute essentials.
Edit: if you disagree that’s fine. However I don’t want any more inbox messages or comments being nasty. I’ll be blocking anyone who adds to this. We are all adults, scroll on. Sadly this is a major reason I removed social media platforms. The fact that adults bully each other over something so insignificant as makeup is astounding, given the year we’ve had. Be kind.
It's only February and I think there's already a record number of hikers Youtubing their journey.

I have an almost one month old (how’d that happen🥴) and I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos about newborn nighttime routines for ideas and honestly to feel a little less alone. It seems like all of their babies are freakin calm as hell! Like even when they wake up to feed they’re relatively calm....they change them and dress them and there are no tears....it leaves me to think that my baby is just super difficult. Maybe that’s true, but I suspect that all the tears are being edited out? I have a pretty colicky baby I admit, but these babies just seem too calm....anyone else feel this way? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!
tl;dr: Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup mechanics are super weird. Gout tuber events don't depend on how much you successfully cut jungle. They depend on Woodcutting level in a very confusing way. Your best bet is to spend as much time as possible hacking the jungle, which means you should use the worst machete and the hardest jungle.
Hi Reddit! Some wiki people recently figured out how Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup events work. Here's the rundown:
The amount of ticks it takes to cut any jungle is equal to
17 - woodcutting_level/10. That means it takes 16 ticks at level 10-19, and 8 ticks at level 90-99.
For level 90-99, the timing is as follows:
There's a counter, we'll call it
event_chance, that starts at 0. It goes up by 1 every time you make a woodcutting attempt (note this is every attempt, not every successful hack). It maxes out at 7. This is your chance, out of 101, to get an event from an "event roll".
If you hit that chance, then
event_chance gets reset to 0 and the server picks an event for you according to this table – there's a 1% chance that the event is a gout tuber.
This is a bit hard to understand at first – your event chance keeps going up every time you try to hack jungle, and then the event rolls happen at a slightly different time. And there are multiple event rolls over the course of a chop attempt.
Here's where it gets really weird. Remember how I said a chopping action takes longer at lower Woodcutting levels? It turns out that that extra time is filled with more event roll attempts!
This means you get more event roll attempts at lower Woodcutting levels. This is (mostly) offset by the fact that quicker chops at higher levels mean
event_chance gets incremented more quickly, but it's not obvious which side wins. After simulation, the end result is that getting a gout tuber is slightly easier at level 30 than it is at 99! That's wack.
It's also clear from the mechanics that you should spend as much time as possible chopping jungle. Having to move to a different piece of jungle, or deal with an event, etc, wastes time that could be spent on getting event rolls.

Title says it all. I feel like every time we get the most minuscule table scraps of information or a fake leak from 4 Chan, here come Premydaremy and SuperSpeedSonic to make 10 minute videos on nothing.
Those people put in exceptional effort in making their Videos enganging, fun and informative. But they also put a tremendous focus on integrty and making sure what they are saying is correct. Especially Tom Scott is a prime example.
For him to state unironically that people with millions of followers like PT can just bullshit people for their narritive, otherwise all videos will just be boring "NPR" shit is incredible.
When i first heard about Vaush I though him to be an unmoral dipshit, using whatever he can to further his own agenda, beacuase thew ends justify the means. Listining to him talk with destiny I thought he might have calmed down and changed his way. But after this shitshow...wow he really does not care what happens just as long as his group wins, no matter the costs.
Normally I go with KatharineofSky but her DSP series is a bit scattershot and manic - not really teaching much and approaching it like the seasoned master of Factorio that she is, you don't learn much along the way or WHY she does things.
Any good 'teaching' 'tubers you guys would recommend?
