What’s up Reddit! (Have done a lot of lurking, but this is my first time actually posting!) I’m Conrad Jones, Principal Trumpet of the Indianapolis Symphony and Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestras. Mainly Mozart is an annual festival in San Diego that’s about the closest classical music has to an all star game. All the top players from all the top orchestras get together in the largest gathering of Concertmasters and Principal Players in the US.

Thought this article was explaining why, but alas. Mayhaps you could endeavour to enlighten us
So I recently purchased a C trumpet and have a few questions:
What is the tuning pitch? On Bb we tune to C, so would I tune to D on a C?
What are some of the challenges of changing between Bb and C?
What are some good exercises to train my brain to accept the different pitches?
Can I switch to C as my primary instrument and use it for everything (outside of jazz)?
Outside of orchestral pieces, what are some good excerpts to learn on C?
This compilation, 'Crazed MP3 Fans Volume One', is from 2014. But for anybody who missed this, it contains the rare original "trumpet" version of 'Needle In The Hay'. As a bonus, since it's bandcamp you can download it in almost any format (FLAC, WAV, etc.).
If you wanted to optionally donate (whatever amount) it will be added to your bandcamp library (for streaming from the app, etc.). There's also a free Volume Two sampler available on KRS' page, but there's no Elliott Smith tracks on it. Just wanted to pass this on to you guys.
Every year or so I treat myself to a pack of mint choc chip trumpets. This year I found that instead of the awesome chocolate sauce they have this shite chocolate mousse thing. Must have changed when froneri bought them last year. 0/10, would not buy again.
