Add Troubadour to the list of companies that won't stand behind their products without a receipt.

Troubadour's website says: If you find a manufacturing fault, we'll repair it. And if itโ€™s within a year of your purchase, weโ€™ll pay for the shipping too. Simply email [email protected], tell us whatโ€™s wrong, and we'll be happy to help."

Having read that, I submitted a claim for a zipper that fell off and their response was "..our Troubadour guarantee covers every new bag that is purchased through our website or one of our retailers. If purchased through the Troubadour website, we activate the guarantee for the customer automatically on the day that the order is placed. If a bag is purchased through one of our retailers, the Troubadour guarantee must be activated by registering the product within one month of being purchased new."

It's a pretty elegant business backpack, to be honest, although the tiny zippers are a bit dainty. You would think that a bag that sells for $300+ would come with service, but that service comes to an abrupt end when the bag changes hands and they wash their hands of the product.

So now that bag, made so carefully out of recycled materials and vegetable-dyed leather is headed for a landfill where it will have a 500-year half-life. It simply isn't economical for me to pay the $40 to return the bag to me (It's in Canada) and the $50 to repair it when I sold it for $69, to begin with.

My sense is that you should spend your $300 on a bag from a company that repairs it the minute it sees its label on the front.

[Wanted] Turnpike Troubadours Diamonds and Gasoline

As the title states, I am after a copy of TT's Diamonds and Gasoline either the black or clear pressing, I'm not too picky. I am willing to offer PayPal and I also have a copy of Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue at a VG/VG+ that I would be willing to trade as well (would also offer cash to that trade for a clear pressing, since it's worth significantly more).

When nomadic troubadours and roving starseeds lay down some roots and merge energies

Greetings, Beloveds. How might one cohere like-minded affinity groups for building community?

Feeling the call lately to co-create collaborative networks in analog space with a focus on heart-based awareness and mutual reciprocity.

With common values like:

Food forests and permaculture, psychedelic medicines, prayer circles and ecstatic dance, solar energy and water wells, more bicycles and walking for transport, egalitarian respect regardless of race, orientation or gender, resource and skill sharing, prioritizing art and creativity, ahimsa/vegetarian lifestyles, puja tables instead of TV stands, conservation work, et cetera.

Have any of you ever felt inspired to live in such a way? I know there are ecovillages/intentional communities active all over the world. A mutual spiritual foundation seems paramount.

Big love, thanks for reading.

I think the actors name is dave allen, and he is sort of a hippie type, long hair, i donโ€™t remember his name. he appeared in multiple episodes such as dead uncles and vegetables, but i really liked him! i honestly wish he would have been a more staple character i think he brought something interesting to the towns dynamic

Troubadours - why do you think they were so into the theme of suffering?

I think it probably has to do with some sort of conflict between what people wanted to do (have sex out of marriage) and what religion told them not to do. I think the theme of unsolicited and forbidden love was so appealing to them because of that.

I've read other theories, though. I've recently read this theory about how they were into suffering because that was a way of getting closer to their listeners and readers; moreover they were into that because suffering was a way of legitimizing their feelings towards the lady. Not sure I'd agree with this one, but it might be true.

There's also this theory about how Troubadours were teaching men how to approach to love, but I'm also not sure I'd agree with that.

What do you think? Any theories? Has anyone ever read anything about this in specific?

IIL ...Not sure the exact genre name...Folk/Acoustic/โ€˜Not popโ€™ โ€ Country (Tyler Childers, Willy Tea Taylor, Turnpike Troubadours, Zach Bryan, etc) and Folk Punk (AJJ, Pat the Bunny, etc), WEWIL?

Sorry for the horrible title, I really donโ€™t know what youโ€™d call that kind of music, perhaps itโ€™s just called country...

Iโ€™ve recently ventured out of my love of folk punk, especially any of Pat the Bunnyโ€™s many bands (Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains, Wingnut Dishwashers Union, Ramshackle Glory, etc) and discovered perhaps an even greater love of this type of country music.

Discover weekly on Spotify has been doing me dirty and just giving me things like Jason Aldean and that main stream โ€œpop countryโ€ and Iโ€™m really not about that, but I also am trying to branch much deeper into this genre Iโ€™ve found I love.

Some other bands of a somewhat similar vein Iโ€™m into...

Sturgil Simpson, Benjamin Todd, Goodnight Texas, Colter Wall, Joshua Ray Walker

Iโ€™ve been ESPECIALLY loving the type of this music set in talking about the times long ago (Chickamauga by Willy Tea Taylor is currently my favorite song)

Note this doesnโ€™t HAVE to be of the country vein, the theme of the message behind it really doesnโ€™t matter to me...I like hearing some of these guys love America just as much as I enjoy Pat the Bunny trash the system, not a problem for me.

A troubadour has arrived in my c.1200 town in southern France will he have a set-list of his own songs he will perform, or will he let people make requests from a large back catalogue of classics?

Travelling troubadours are often portrayed as being important members of Occitan culture in the 12th/13th century but what could they offer the townsfolk who came to listen to them? How unusual was this event? Every Friday night, or a rarity? How many songs would they know? What was the content of these songs? Were there any performers that are the equivalent of today's pop stars? Were there any songs that we could consider as "classics" that could have been put on a medieval Greatest Hits album?
