So I drive an '06 car and it has no bluetooth/aux port, so I can't connect my phone to the car stereo.
I drive a lot of long journeys so I want to be able to listen to my own music/podcasts.
About 5 years ago I had one of those iTrip things, but there was always a horrible static/interference sound coming through.
So now I'm not sure whether I should buy a new one, or just buy a bluetooth speaker and connect to that.
There's lots of FM transmitters with good reviews on Amazon, but they take 2+ weeks to arrive, and have to pay β¬15 shipping. There's also a bunch of cheap ones on Ebay that are located in Ireland, but there is no brand name on them so they could be crap.
Anyone any advice for me? I'm leaning towards just buying a speaker and placing it beside me.
If anybody here has more knowledge about this it would be interesting to read. It just feels like that in the era when Google knows what you had for breakfast, searching for someone a few dozen meters away from you under a meter of snow shouldn't be so complicated.
Family member just switched to Medtronic unfortunately (Due to insurance reasons) But he just bought 3 pack of sealed sensors and a sealed transmitter. He has a total of 4 Sealed sensors and a sealed transmitter. Is there a way for him to return to the pharmacy or anything? I know he has been paying out of pocket for his G6 stuff. He is a bit upset because he just spend all this $ and now isn't using them. I told him to try and sell them on ebay or a FB group to try and get some of the money back. Any advice? Thanks!
Hi, I plan on going on a road trip this weekend and wanted to know if my FM Transmitter will work even in other cities. As in would I need to change stations for each city I get to OR does the transmitter transmit the FM frequency to my car so that my car is just receiving from the transmission within the vehicle. I do not know very much about how radio frequencies work.
Ive seen several IR transmitters out there like the RM mini, but nothing that can receive IR signals and activate a switch in homebridge/homekit. I want to be able to use a remote and its buttons to activate scenes/automations.
Wanted to share what I found....
Thought I would take a crack at replacing the transmitter battery. ( HA HA HA HA HA ).
Basically the further I got, the more I realized it's not practical. More like not possible.
The battery including the circuit board contacts are all encapsulated in the gray plastic.
I saw the gray plastic surrounding all the components.
There's what looks like a seam around the edge...but it's just an indentation. It all appears to be molded.
It's possible that what I am seeing is actually an epoxy. Either way you'd have to destroy it to get the battery off (IMO)
That's the circuit board immediately under the battery.

I have a transmitter on that said a week ago that it will expire soon (I think in two weeks). However, how do I know when it actually is expired? I have to change my sensor in a few hours and I donβt want to put a new sensor in if the transmitter will not be working.
Hoping someone has experience with an issue similar to this. I have a new Hunter fan that I bought from Costco that has no pull cords and operates solely off of the wireless remote. After installation I thought everything worked great. I have Phillips Hue bulbs in it which are configured to turn themselves on when the power is lost and comes back (so that that the switch can be used for guests). Well, at random times, the lights turn themselves on which tells me that the power to the fan is blipping, as in the power is lost and comes back within a second.
I replaced all the components of the fan with another one I bought thinking it was the fan but I had the same issue! Even with a new transmitter I still had the same issue! I am honestly at a loss and not sure how to further diagnose. I have the same setup downstairs as well and it has no issues, but I know its not my house wiring cause there are no blips when I bypass the transmitter and I have two of the same fan (both new) that are having the same issue. Any advice on how to further troubleshoot?
I have a b5.5 Passat with the monsoon system and don't really want to mess with changing the radio, in terms of audio quality what's better?
The Anker ROAV f2 pro or a bluetooth cassette tape?
Which one requires me to crank the radio up less and which has less of a hissy sound?
Also can I charge the cassette while it's in the radio?

I'm using a $13 anker or aukey wired fm transmitter now, so whatever is better then that.
I am not replacing the head unit, not only do I like the stock look, but I also don't want to spend the money or effort with something that will probably break my car. These are $40, a new head unit + the install at an audio shop is $300.
Thanks!
I'm building an ant weight bot, and need to pick a transmitter. Last time I bought a transmitter, I paid big bucks to be able to change channels (with a screwdriver no less) and not have to carry a box of crystals. So uhh... Things have improved a bit.
I see no reason to spend more than the bare minimum for controlling this ant. Just two sticks to control the wheels, and a toggle for the weapon. Boom. Done. However, I will almost certainly build more robots, with the goal of running beetle weight. Having a second transmitter for a sparing partner, and as a competition backup will make sense down the line.
So here lies my real question... I see all the radios have a (mostly?) brand-specific transmitter protocol. If I get a FlySky FS-i6x transmitter, the RX will only work with other FlySky radios (right?). Meaning that it i want to upgrade to a Spektrum in the future, I will need new receivers. Meaning that if I need to use the original FlySky as backup, I would also have to swap receivers out of the bot?
Basically, do I want pay a bit more for the cheapest model from a bigger brand so I have compatibility with better future purchases? Are any brand's receivers notably smaller/lighter?
Or maybe I'm really getting ahead of myself... I have no idea what a 'nicer' radio can even do better than a $50 FlySky?
Hi,
I'm doing a course in electronics and for the project I'm doing a radio telemetry downlink. I've got the circuit all working and everything, but I've soldered it all on protoboard. We've never been specifically told it has to be on breadboard, but I'm not sure.
In any case, I know that any RF projects on breadboard is a big no-no, so I was wondering if there are any sheilded breadboards or something which would allow me to build my circuit on there?
Thanks
Any help is much appreciated.
So, it will bind and I can fly the drone but the transmitter constantly beeps after I bind. I read the manual and believe I am binding correctly. Please tell me it's user error and I don't have a dud...
I've been using a G6 since August. My first transmitter lasted 2 months before it stopped connecting to my phone. The second one lasted almost exactly the same amount of time. My third one was started 10 days ago and worked fine for 9 days. Stopped giving me readings after 9 days so I swapped out sensors. It finished starting but won't give readings. It doesn't say sensor failure or failed to start sensor. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and also using my receiver. Nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm a physician and pretty tech savvy. This shouldn't be this hard or unreliable.
Hello everyone, Iβm just getting into fpv drones and am looking at a number of transmitters. Any advice on specific features or anything to look out for to future proof a little and not have to upgrade very soon. Thanks!!
