This has me, my flooring co-worker, and a customer. We work at a big orange box store in the flooring department. I was with a customer when I got a call about a customer who needs help in the tile aisle. I ask my co-worker and she goes to help. While I finish up my co-worker comes back and is fuming.
"You need to talk to this woman, she is driving me crazy. She isn't listening to what I'm saying."
I get the low down and go to the customer. She looks at us and picks up a tile and puts it next to the sample piece, "I need the batch from the sample. The ones you have here have green in them. I bought some but I need more."
I ask, "Okay, do you have the batch or lot number?"
She shakes her head, "You have the sample so you have it."
"No ma'am, you bought some so you have the batch number. It's still going to take some time to see if we have the same number or another store."
She sighs, "If I had the number then I wouldn't be here asking you."
My co-worker and I exchange 'wtf' glances as another sigh happens.
"Ugh, forget you." She starts to walk away as I go back into service mode and say, "Thank you!" Thankfully she just walking.
