Why YSK: Practically be mindful of what you say or do around them. Also, even if the screen is turn off the camera and microphone are still operational.
Edit: A lot of people are pointing out your phone can do the same. I just wanted to emphasize in this post that this device can do this things on a internal level as in the people in the IT/security departments can access the footage.
MIL was asked at the start of December if she could watch our oldest daughter for a week after we had our second child.
Originally we were going to not send her to MIL, but when MIL pitched a fit, we thought, fine, why not, but you play by our rules.
Our rules being, quarantineing until it comes time to take our child, and she will not be with you when you go visit your friends.
Well she stuck to the quarantineing, and she took our oldest home with her on the 5th, she returned our daughter on the 12th, and our daughters mood was off, she wouldn't eat, she was tired. Originally we gave her some paracetamol and kept her fluids up, her temperature dropped.
But after a couple hours it was back, and she was up in the middle of the night extremely miserable from how sick she was.
My husband took her to the hospital, and she was tested for covid, thankfully she doesn't have it, but she does have bronchitis.
While she is on the mend, our daughter told us, that MIL was taking her to visit friends every day, and on the last full day she was with MIL, she started feeling unwell, she would tell MIL, but all MIL told her was it was a cold, it would clear up in a day or two. Well it didn't.
My husband confronted his mom, but she couldn't understand why, she was being yelled at, apparently because we now know, what was wrong with our daughter it's no big deal right?
She sees no fault in what she did, and acts like she couldn't help the situation at all.
Which gets me so agitated, because telling us would have been the right thing to do, not exposing her, and playing dumb
It never used to be this mild in the winter here. Every year in just makes me sad that the temperature is so warm. Climate change is causing Nova Scotia to become much warmer than it used to be and I hate how even weather stations seem to praise the weather being so mild. Stop normalizing the temperature being warm in the winter, because itβs not normal.
Edit: itβs sad to see how many people are being willfully ignorant to the science and data.
I had a bunch of typical horrible symptoms, I was darn sick... and having the typical no taste or smell and plenty of lingering crappy effects.
I HAD NO FEVER! I couldn't be the only one. I diligently took my temperature a few times a day and every time I felt extra horrible. Anyone else have the same experience?
In fact what happened was my temperature fluctuated from as low as 95.8F to the highest at 98.7F. Usually early morning or waking up at like 2am my temperature was too low and then would quickly get to around 97F. Middle of the day my temp was usually closer to 98F. There was no predicting my evening temp. Even during hot or cold flashes my temp was close to normal.
And yes, I did test positive.
Again...my main gripe is people THINKING they are behaving safely, they clearly are not.
Full disclosure, I am not a medical researcher...but I will share this post with actual medical people in my immediate family and hopefully others can share this as well.
