If not, do you know any non-obvious metric spaces where both perimeter and area are definable, and such as those definitions could be understood by a high schooler?
yes i did found one
Bought the taxi garage across from casino as it is faster to get into the casino from there then the penthouse. Have a bright yellow/black deluxo cab, thought it'd be fun to add an oldskool type cab in there, too...
Run me right over my foot.
I'd looooove to be able to rewatch some of those episodes. So good.
This is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever posted, but I cannot for some ungodly reason prove that a taxicab ball of radius r fully contains an euclidean ball of radius r/sqrt(2). I know that if I draw them out it's a square with an inscribed circle, but for some UNGODLY reason I can't get this into metric language --- metrics don't have the pythagorean theorem, and helpful diagrams...
I'm not a New Yorker, and I've always wondered what this line meant. The song here, the lyrics: And love / Love is just a passing word / It's the thought that you had / In a taxicab that got left on the curb / When he dropped you off at East 83rd
I know the Met is on that street, but what does she mean by mentioning that street specifically? Is it (or was it) near a subway line maybe? Serious if somewhat ridiculous question, thanks if you can explain it to me.
Man, I first watched this when I got home drunk from a party when I was in high school. My folks had it on and I remember watching the next episode after they went to bed. The ‘here it is; we aren’t saying anything, but this is the vibe we know you’ll feel’ shots of the New York streets and the black and white graininess just added so much to the humanity of the stories.
The one I still remember is the cop talking about the young guy who’d slipped between the carriage and platform on the subway and knew that he was going to die either way - and the cop describes him ‘corkscrewing’ his insides out.
This must’ve been about 2010 and I still think about it and have barely seen another episode since.
This was on SBS in Australia.
I’ve tried streams, finding DVDs, but there’s no clear way to watch every single episode. I would love to watch the whole lot and know that there’s still a few waiting - it’s such a dick tease to close one stream and know the next few will probably be dodgy.
Can anyone help me out? I’m not even asking for illegal streams, but how can I obtain this in Australia? Is it streaming anywhere? Is there a good box set recently?
I figured since the world is Quarantined, it would be appropriate to talk about this game :)
Seems like not many people know about it. This pre-dated GTA and Crazy Taxi. It was some pretty wild shit at the time.
