I'm an atheist and skeptic. I'm into bdsm, tantra, kabbalah, tarot, meditation, buddhism and skepticism. AMA.

I'm male, in my late 40s. I've been into woowoo stuff for most of my adult life, though I abandoned the christian faith at 20ish.

I don't believe in any of the religious teachings I'm into.

I studied the science of judaism at university, read a lot about the bible, and I'm highly interested in scholarly perspectives on all the things I mentioned.

Orgasmo feminino tantra

Is This Tantra?

So I think I had a spiritual moment by myself that I think would count as tantra.

It felt as though my hands and body were being controlled by someone else while I laid down and relaxed. It was like 2 separate identities sharing the same body. I somehow ended up giving myself a massage as well as a bit of exercise too.

I'm a guy, and my imagination made me see the female version of myself I think? It was like the culmination of all my sexual desires and energy formed as the female counterpart in my imagination. I was actively communicating with this imagination, and it even guided me towards a set of techniques to try that I had never heard of or attempted before. It was surreal.

After about 4 hours I went to bed. The next day I was left feeling fantastic about myself and felt my sexual desires were met.

Has anyone else ever had a similar experience?

[tantra] Shinzen Young & Chelsey Fasano - Tantra, Neuroscience, & True Enlightenment - Guru Viking Podcast

In this episode I host a conversation between Shinzen Young, a meditation teacher and neuroscience research consultant, and Chelsey Fasano, a Columbia University neuroscience student.

We take an inside look as Chelsey consults Shinzen on her current research project, a review of the neuroscience literature that examine states of self-identification and non-dual awareness.

What is East Asian Mahayana's view on the Anuttarayoga Tantras?

From what I understand, these tantras never made their way into East Asian Mahayana. However, I've seen some East Asian masters condemning similar practices as to those which are found in these tantras without ever addressing the tantras themselves (other than I think Hsuan Hua who I've heard has negative things to say regarding them but never seen him directly address them). Does anyone know what the general consensus is, or has any resources of these tantras being discussed by East Asian Mahayanists? Thank you!

Part 8 - Intro to Tantra (Theory)

This post is gonna be a two-parter. This first part is on the background and theory of what Tantra is, with the follow up post being the actual techniques used.

When it comes to Semen Retention, one of the most dangerous things you can do is entertain the idea of anything sexually stimulating. Porn, edging, hell, even looking at or thinking too much about the enticing female form is off the table for many of us, and rightfully so. It’s what led us down this path, spiraling out of control.

So why, of all things, am I about to start discussing how to masturbate and even have sex in order to supercharge our SR practice?

For one reason and one reason only - tantric methods are, by far, the most powerful way to speed up our evolution on this path.

From the Chinese classic Secrets of the Jade Bedroom -

>“Rainbow Girl: It is generally assumed that a man gains great pleasure from ejaculation. But when he learns of the Tao of Yin and Yang, he will ejaculate less and less. Will this not diminish his pleasure as well?
>
>Pen-Tze: Not at all! After ejaculating, a man feels tired, his ears buzz, his eyes get heavy, and he longs for sleep. He is thirsty and his limbs feel weak and stiff. By ejaculating, he enjoys a brief moment of sensation but suffers long hours of weariness as a result. This is no true pleasure!
>
>However, if a man regulates his ejaculations to an absolute minimum and retains his semen, his body will grow strong, his mind will be clear, and his vision and hearing will improve. While the man must occasionally deny himself the fleeting sensation of ejaculation, his love for his woman will greatly increase. He will feel as if he could never get enough of her. Is that not the true and lasting pleasure of sex?”

There are Two Paths

While it’s more nuanced than this, let’s split spiritual practice, and by extension, semen retention, into two camps. That of renunciation, and that of tantra.

The path of the renunciate is where we all begin, and where many of us may stay indefinitely. It is by no means the inferior of the two paths, and seeing as it is the basis for tantra, one might even consider it to be the superior of the two. It is powerful, effective, and most importantly, safe. It’s only downfall is it is slower.

In the path of renunciation, we give up all things sexual. We give up porn, we give up masturbation, and we sure as hell give up sex. When the goal is to retain semen, why would we be hav

I'm writing a book set in Tantras, and I want to make sure that I'm not getting conflicting information. Some material states that there's an order of crusaders called the Trueblades. Other sources reference an order called the Order of the Golden Lion. Do they both exist? In my opinion, it would be strange to have 2 orders in the same city. Or is this a case where if it's undecided, my book (if it gets published) sets the record straight?

Why do practices like 'westernized tantra', 'astrology', and other New Age-y things feel misguided and delusional?

I don't know how to word this question any better but this is a recurring theme right now. I live in a community on Maui, the owners studied with Osho in the 70s before acquiring a nice piece of land on the North Shore of Maui. There are Buddhist statues all around the property but something feels empty to me because of all the overemphasis on sexuality and egocentricity. The others who also live here eat this stuff up without stopping to think about the nature of desire, of samsara, of liberation.

I'm trying not to judge but I also see the value of being discerning. I have learned to do my work (creative/tech office work + regenerative agriculture) without getting too involved in 'deep discussions' or getting tangled up with women. I wake up at 5am every day to meditate with the rising sun and crashing waves, I eat a plant-based diet (with a little fish sometimes), I honor my Vow by being of service to all beings to the best of my ability. I am happy living on this land, in a nice room, without paying any rent, having food from the garden/agroforest, etc. I will stay for now but I want to navigate these situations/conversations better.

I'm only 30, so maybe I am missing something. I have a dharma teacher who I consult and am part of a sangha through him. This feels like a 'dumb question' to bring up. I feel a lot of these practices are self-fulfilling prophecies that just feed off ego and encourage more desire instead of liberation.

Anyways, I'm open to learn from the community and would love any related sutras on this topic.

Thank you for your time and care.

Mastering TANTRA: 2 Phases of Male Sexuality

Men go through 2 layers of experiencing pleasure during sex.

[PHASE 1]

During the first phase, ejaculation is the goal. The penis/genital area is incredibly sensitive and looks for every opportunity to spread its seed and procreate.

Unfortunately, most men are forever stuck in this phase and never able to go beyond 2-7mins in intercourse without ejaculation. This is further complicated by watching pornography with the main intention of getting as aroused as possible in a short amount of time.

Their nervous system becomes wired for quick fixes.

Those that have trouble holding their seed during tantric/sacred sexuality are typically stuck in this phase. This can be seen as the ‘tip of the iceberg’ of sex.

It’s almost like there is a sexual anxiety/nervousness which causes one to prematurely ejaculate.

Once again, for the vast majority, sex is only associated with this first phase.

This phase lasts for around 15 mins until the man overcomes the initial stimulation and urge to ejaculate.

[PHASE 2]

The second phase is when sex actually becomes meaningful. Once you have gone beyond the basic animal instinct to ejaculate, you are now in a completely different space.

There is absolute control of your pleasure level, ejaculation then becomes a conscious CHOICE [rather than an unconscious impulse]. Knowing this, you can hold your seed and enjoy as much sex as you’d like, for as long as you want.

A lot of men have stumbled into this phase; but have done so unconsciously and don’t know how to get back there.

It is like the ‘God-mode’ of sex.

You now have all the time in the world to thoroughly satisfy your partner and make her orgasm as many times as she would like; All while you’re comfortably in your center, enjoying the ecstasy of the moment.

Stimulation from intercourse is not as intense, but this allows for you to circulate the sex energy all throughout your [energetic] body.

—————————————————————————

The way I like to look at it is:

PHASE 1 - Beta

PHASE 2 - Alpha

Once you can overcome your beta desires to just release , you become grounded in your sexuality, and have the luxury of full control over yourself.

However, no matter how experienced you are, you almost always run the risk of spilling your precious, divine seed during the first phase. It is like the initial jitters/nerves of any important thing.

The way to avoid this is to either:

a) Prior to [tantric] sex, ‘sharpen the sword’ and have a slow, nourishing self-cultiv
