This caring fella is a Midwife Toad! (Alytes) The males of this species carry their eggs on their backs! They wrap the strings of eggs around their hind legs to protect them from predators. When the eggs are ready to hatch, the male wades in shallow water for the tadpoles. What a great dad!
Native tadpole hatchery..
This cheeky lad is the Green Frog! (Rana Clamitans) In their tadpole stage, there frogs can mysteriously reverse their gender! It is still relatively unknown what causes this strange occurrence, or what purpose it serves. Pollutants are thought to play a big part in this phenomenon though
This strange fella is the Paradoxical Frog! (Pseudis paradoxa) This frog's tadpoles reach up to 11 inches (27cm) long! During metamorphosis this frog actually becomes smaller! Adult frogs only reach a length of about 3 inches (7.6cm) that's just under a third of the tadpoles' length!
Are you still a Tadpole? It’s ok, I won’t judge you.
Finally put in the effort to finish up the Tadpole and Possum badges, my only motivation was to get some respect from Scout Leader Pompy.
Well, no such luck. All badges earned and he’s still calling me the oldest Tadpole he’s ever seen.. what a prick.
This big boy is the Goliath Frog! 'Conraua goliath' They grow up to 13 inches long and weigh as much as 7.2 pounds! They construct their own ponds for their tadpoles to live in, those ponds can be up to 3 feet long. They move large amounts of mud and even heavy rocks to make their ponds!
This is Diving beetle larva under a microscope! This larva lives in water and feeds on tadpoles. Crazy how things look under a microscope!
This black-eyed baby is Morelet's Tree Frog! (Agalychnis moreletii) This species of frog lays its eggs on vegetation or rocks over water. The eggs have greenish tint to them, as seen below. When the eggs hatch the tadpoles fall right into the water below
🔥 stumbled upon hundreds of tadpoles earlier in my usual picnic spot. Spent hours watching them and reading up about them. Can’t wait to go back every week and see how they get on! reddit.com/gallery/mub93d
My Gummy Frogs Came With a Tadpole
Crassygirinus was one of the first amphibians to appear some 345 million years ago back in the Carboniferous period. The name means "big tadpole" - which makes sense since it was up to 3 meters long (watercolour & ink)
My daughter and I made Tadpole Bee using stuff from around the house!
This colorful fella is the Malagasy Rainbow Frog! (Scaphiophryne gottlebei) This frog breeds during the rainy season. It lays its eggs in temporary pools that form in its rocky habitat. Torrential rains then come along that sweep away and disperse the tadpoles to different places!

This is Dart. Dart is a giant 10” long bullfrog tadpole. Dart’s size is due to a hormonal imbalance. Dart was discovered by the Museum of Natural History’s Frog Conservation Project in Arizona.
This little baby is the Blue-Legged Mantella! (Mantella expectata) It lives in rocky habitats and lays its eggs during the rainy season. It will hang its eggs on canyon walls, or hide them under rocks. Rain then floods these canyons, creating temporary pools for the tadpoles!
My attempt at the tadpole nebula, wet on wet technique🤗
Mike Tyson sells this toad themed weed. The small nugs are called 'tadpoles', and the toad in the logo has tyson's face tattoo.
Tadpoles in pool?
Hey guys, not sure where else to post this but I need some advice. My family has neglected our pool throughout the fall and winter, it looks and acts like an actual pond right now. There's frogs that sit out to sunbathe on the floating vacuum tube each morning and snakes that slither away when they sense you nearby. Anyways two days ago we saw that a fresh batch of tadpoles have been born and they are staying near the steps where the water is shallow. I have seen a grown frog (mom??) stay near them but will swim away if you get too close.
My parents are talking about moving them and I just don't know what to do. I know they will haphazardly move them to a puddle or something. Where is the best place to put them and how do I move them? There has to be >100 tadpoles in the pool. Are there "professionals" out there who can safely move them? It also makes me worried because there's a mom frog who just gets lost in the dark pool. If it was up to me I would let them grow up in the pool but it takes like 12 weeks... all summer, and my family has an issue with that. What do you guys think? I want to make sure they'll be okay.
My son just got a tadpole from his grandmother and named him Henry. I think he's cute and we love him already.

Tadpole bees but they are legit tadpoles in their natural habitat
Styrofoam instant noodles: bite the wax tadpole!
This royal lad is the Crowned Tree Frog! (Triprion spinosus) This frog lays its eggs in small pools that don't contain very much food. To feed her tadpoles, the mother will drop unfertilized eggs into the ponds. The tadpoles stimulate their mother to do this by nibbling at her belly!
I like art but I suck at programming. I am a little bit embarrassed to show this but here it goes. My first solo dev project: Inari’s Tale, a narrative-centered hand-drawn 2D platformer (still in the early stages). You play an evolutive character who starts as a tadpole and ends up as a god. v.redd.it/kmo4arciano61

Tadpole! He gives the best cuddles.
Jelly pigmy toddler and tadpole
This awkwardly proportioned fella is the Black Narrow-Mouthed Frog! (Ctenophryne aterrima) This frog's breeding habits are a complete mystery! Its call has never been heard and females have never been observed laying eggs, even though its tadpoles have been found
I just want to figure out what this god damn tadpole is, and how to get it out of my head :(
This ugly fella is the purple frog 'Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis'. It lives underground and only comes up to the surface 2 to 3 weeks a year to mate. Its tadpoles have special mouths that act as suction cups so they can cling to rocks in fast flowing streams and even waterfalls! It is endangered
[OC] Remember the days when you were a tadpole?
Frogs/Tadpoles in Calgary?
Does anyone know where to find some frogs or tadpoles? I’ve been look forward to the snow melting all year and it’s almost all gone, but I don’t know where to find these things. I’ve also seen a lot of people raising tadpoles last year and was hoping to do it this year. Does anyone where I can find some?
