Superscript and subscript on same letter

I'm trying to write superscript and subscript on same letter in MTEXT. I need to write so superscript letter is exactly above subscript letter, but I only get X^A and then one space after ˇB. Thanks for help!

Can someone please explain why there is a change in notation when denoting the components of the vector A. Usually it's a subscript for the index but now a superscript, not sure why there is a change for A and not the others?

Subscript and Superscript shortcuts for Excel 2016 for Mac

Hi all. There appears to be a bug with Excel 2016 and macOS Big Sur. If I type "ft2" into a cell, and want the "2" to be a superscript (or subscript), I normally would be able to highlight just the "2", then go to Format - Cell, and choose either subscript or superscript. Once I updated to Big Sur, every time I do this, Excel 2016 for Mac crashes. I then thought I could add buttons to the Ribbon, but this feature appears to only be available with Office 365. My last idea was to add to the Quick Access Toolbar. I was able to add a strikethrough button, but the subscript and superscript functions do not appear in the list of available commands, even when choosing "All Commands". I know this can be done on Excel for Windows, but apparently not for Mac. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can add buttons/quick access commands for subscript/superscript to Ribbon/Quick Access Toolbar for Excel 2016 for Mac?

Subscript and Superscript not rendering pretty with Text in Italics

As title says, when I use sub- or superscript with text in italics (and org-toggle-pretty-entities), text does not render properly; ^ and _ are not hidden when toggled to 'pretty'. It works fine with non-italic text. I am using latest org mode (as in Melpa). Is it just me not knowing how to set it up, or is it supposed to be so, or just limitation of text in between '/ /' ?

How do I superscript and subscript texts in animate?

I'm trying to do a text with subscripts in animate. I know how to toggle the switch on and off and I know how to properly type it out. However, when I click off to the side of the text box, the changes do not apply! The text then switches to how the text would look without the subscript. I want to retain it, not lose it! Any help?

Feature Request: Allow DPS and DPT stats to be added as superscript and subscript

I just switched to this app and love it so far. The only complaint I have is I'd like to be able to display DPT as a superscript for renaming. The scheme I'm using there is barely to many characters to display DPT with a circle.nit will fit when I use superscript but right now I have to do it manually.

Is there a way to do subscripts or superscripts in text blocks in notion? For all of Notion's incredible features, I feel like a lot of perhaps simpler and more commonplace ones are overlooked. Can anyone help me with this?

Superscript and Subscript Shortcuts Stopped Working???

I was taking down some notes and the superscript and subscript shortcuts were working all day today (I'm on Mac so the shortcuts are command + shift + "+" or command + shift + "=") but they randomly stopped working today and now all they do is zoom in. I did a full reinstall and I unbound the zooming shortcuts but they still don't work.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Will give gold for a solution that works

Edit: So I found a bit of a work around if you download keyboard maestro you can create a macro for every key and have it paste each number as a subscript or superscript instead of typing. I've since switched to notion by now its better imo

Recursive superscripts and subscripts as OpenType features?

I am developing a very professional typeface. Every single font of the typeface will contain at least 10445 Unicode characters, but also 1193 superscripts, 1193 subscripts, 362 superscript superscripts, 362 superscript subscripts, 362 subscript superscripts and 362 subscript subscripts. I know exactly how to design those characters, but how would I assign superscript superscripts, superscript subscripts, subscript superscripts and subscript subscripts to an OpenType feature?

Anyone know of a third-party iOS keyboard with the full alphabet available as subscripts and superscripts?

I’m using the Bear notes app, but they don’t support subscripts and superscripts. There are a few keyboards that have sub and superscripted numbers, but no so much for letters. Math symbols would be nice too. There’s an obvious market for this.

If you need to type a subscript in Microsoft Word, use the shortcut Ctrl + Equal Sign (=). If you need to type a superscript, use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Plus Sign (+). These shortcuts will also work in PowerPoint and OneNote.

Also, if you need to write out an equation with formulas and symbols and Sigma and all that Greek bullshit, Ctrl + Plus Sign (+) will open up equation mode on a MacBook. I have no idea if it works on windows or not. Really helpful if you’re typing out equations, chemical formulas, and logarithms.

Detecting and writing subscript/superscripts from excel files to docx

Is there a way to detect superscripts and subscripts from an excel file and write it into a docx? I saw some info about adding a run, but I only want certain characters inside each cell to be subscripted. Such as H^(2)O, but subscript (I don't think I can do that on Reddit!)

My current program reads an excel file using openpyxl and writes test questions/answers on a docx file. Everything works just fine except for this small detail, but I would like the option to write my chemical formulas without having to manually edit them in the docs.

How do you handle tables, superscript, and subscript?

You may have seen my other posts. I've been banging my head against the wall for days now that my classes are giving me lots of information in table-form and we're discussing concepts where exponents are needed and abbreviations have subscripts.

Bear has no markdown for these and doesn't seem likely to be adding them anytime soon (despite promising to for months).

And despite looking high and low, there is still no better note-taking app, or any other one that even comes close to the ease, simplicity, and overall quality of Bear.

Credit where it's due, you ursine bastards. You certainly have yourselves an app. Now add my new shit. #FirstWorldProblems

Srsly tho guise. Halp.

What do you all do when you're using Bear but you need a table or superscript or subscript?

IV%AVG block subscript and superscript

Is it possible to have subscript used on IV%AVG renaming block when there's an exact value and use superscript as average indicator?

Like this:

exact value (87%): Cha♂⑳₈₇

average value (~85%): Cha♂⑳⁸⁵

The closest i got was regular numbers for an exact IV value and superscript as an average indicator:

exact value (87%): Cha♂⑳87

average value(~85%): Cha♂⑳⁸⁵

it is something I'm missing or is just not possible?

Superscript, Subscript, and reaction arrows now available!

After far to long a time I have finally got around to getting sub and superscript functionality added to the CSS. You may recognize the formatting from /r/chemicalreactiongifs as that is where I sourced the code from.

With out further delay the syntax is as follows:

*_subscript_* makes subscript

*superscript* or ^(superscript) makes superscript

*_sub_sup* makes subsup

*sup_sub_* makes supsub

Examples:

H*2SO4* is written by typing H*_2_*SO*_4_*

Fe^(2+) is written by typing Fe^(2+) or Fe*2+*

Hopfully this makes understanding and explaining reactions easier for all.

Equilibrium arrows and right arrows can be copied and pasted from below. All of this info will be in the sidebar also for easy reference.

Arrows for reference:

Equilibrium arrow: ⇌

Right arrow: →

Difference between subscript and superscript for vector indices?

What the difference between doing [; x_{i} ;] to get the ith element of the vector x and [; x^{i} ;]?

In school I learned it as subscript, but in some texts I see it as a superscript. The reason I ask is because I know that for tensors, there are covariant and contravariant tensors which are represented by super and subscripts, respectively.

Edit: I don't really understand covariance/contravariance, perhaps my confusion lays there.

vim and latex: wrong syntax highlighting of subscripts/superscripts

I have some latex macros that open math environments like so:

\newenvironment{linprog}{
\alignat{3}
}{
\endalignat
}

Now, whenever I use superscripts or subscripts in custom macros like this:

\begin{linprog}
a^k
\end{linprog}

vim will display the ^ in white with red background (my guess is, vim doesn't figure out that math mode is enabled and marks the ^ char as a syntax error).

Is there any way to get a normal display? This is a clean vim installation (no addons, no settings except for syntax on) on Debian 8 (vim 7.4).

I already tried different latex plugins (latexbox, vimlatex...) without success.

[Meta] Subscripts, superscripts and LaTeX are now supported

Users wishing to have prettier formatting in their posts and comments will now have a few options at their disposal. This support should look very familiar, nigh identical, to subscribers of /r/math. Superscripts and subscripts are now supported, and are created as follows:

x*_sub_* makes x*sub*

x*sup* and x^(sup) both make x^(sup)

x*_sub_sup* makes x*subsup*

x*sup_sub_* makes x*supsub*

This should help users posting complicated equations keep their work from looking like spaghetti code.

In that same vein, look at the line below:

[; e^{\pi i} + 1 = 0 ;]

If that looks like [; e^{\pi i}+1=0 ;] and not like the most beautiful equation in mathematics, then you don't have a LaTeX viewer installed! To view LaTeX, download one of the following extensions:

and the equation should render. You can input the above equation as [; e^{\pi i}+1=0 ;] to get it to render.

These changes are referenced with a small new blurb near the bottom of the sidebar, as well as an updated wiki page which basically says exactly what I've said here.

Big thanks to /u/inherentlyawesome at /r/math for the help. Let us know if something is off!
