There have been a few times when people have stopped me to ask if I work there, but I've always just been able to say "No, sorry" and that's always the end of it. But today, that wasn't the case at all. This is one of those ordeals that never actually happens in the real world, or so I thought. This is what actually happens when things get out of hand. TL;DR at the end, this is definitely a long one but hopefully worth your time.
So a bit of background about me, I'm a bodybuilder/powerlifter, and nutrition is very important to what I do. Whenever I go shopping, I like to check the nutrition labels on ingredients and foods I'm interested in, that way I can eat enough food to not be hungry, without sacrificing flavor, and still fitting it into my daily calorie intake. As you can imagine, I will check multiple different versions of the same ingredients in an aisle and put them back as I search for the best option.
Well, earlier today I went on a pretty big restock for the house. I also found a bunch of new recipes that I want to try, some of which called for some ingredients I don't work with often. For the most part, the store wasn't too busy, and nobody really bothered me as I walked up and down each aisle. I also had some earbuds in and my phone out, with my shopping list on it. Keep in mind also that I'm wearing a tank top and sweat pants, which you're probably not gonna get away with wearing as a grocery store employee.
As I'm looking through spices in the baking aisle, I hear someone yelling over my music. It was kind of surprising since I listen to it pretty loud. So I took an earbud out and looked around, and this lady just said to me "Can't even believe they let employees wear those stupid things." I cut her off and said "I wouldn't know, because I don't work here."
This seemed to upset her greatly, as she got really aggressive when she responded by saying "Don't fucking lie to me, I've seen you stocking the shelves. I'm a paying customer and you need to help me right now!" I'm a very easy-going guy, but when a random stranger speaks to me like this, I'm not gonna put up with it. So I said "I don't have to do shit, especially if you talk to me like that. Get lost."
She lost something, that's for sure. She yelled "Excuse me? How the fuck dare you!" I just turned to walk away at that point. All of a sudden she grabs the back of my tank top and I yank myself away, saying "What the fuck lady, don't touch me!" She takes a couple steps back, probably... keep reading on reddit ➡

I haven't been following Brexit, but I had no idea the situation is so bad a first world nation is stocking up food.
I am trying to buy stockings that are relatively cheap so that I can tear them during play--I am understandably not allowed to tear the expensive ones--but even if I wanted to get expensive ones I have no idea where to look outside of mainstream sites like Victoria's Secret. Despite cost I am hoping to avoid supporting a brand like shein or romwe that engages in despicable production practices.
Oh, and since thigh-highs are ridiculously cute I am looking to get them as well.
Please let me know if there are any brands and/or sites that you would recommend!
So I’m at work, and it’s a pretty easy job as a vendor where I get a lot of odd jobs. One of those odd jobs is filling and re-inflated balloons, fun and easy. So I’m going back and forth running the new balloons onto the floor when this middle age woman stops me. She starts absolutely gushing about babies. I’m trying to social distance while trying to suppress my utter bewilderment.
Who is this? Why is she talking to me? Is she lost? Why is she talking about babies?? So I, in my nicest retail voice, tell her I’m not an employee and if she’s looking for baby items I can point her in the right direction. Clearly not the answer she’s looking for she gets frustrated and says, “I know that, I’m talking about your baby!”
What???? Thinking she’s senile I tell her I don’t have a baby? And again she becomes even more frustrated and looks at me like I’m the idiot here. “No! Your baby! When are you due!” As she gives a pointed look to my very flat stomach, and wow, rude.
“Ma’am, I’m not pregnant, and you shouldn’t be asking that. It’s incredibly rude.”
She’s borderline red in the face and exasperated and spits out “Then what are the balloons for?!?”
So at this point I take a good look at them, I’m caring about 20 balloon and of those 20 only three are new baby balloons, the rest are an assortment of congratulations, get well soon, and happy birthday. How she assumed I was pregnant and having a baby from this assortment I have absolutely no idea.
“Ma’am, I am the balloon vendor I’m just refilling these, I’m not an associate of the store and if you need anything further please ask and employee.” because at this point I’m done with crazy rude lady. She starts ranting and complaining that it’s horrible customer service, how I’m a liar, how she knows these things blah blah blah, and I just leave to hang up balloons. She didn’t follow me and she didn’t escalate the situation, but who does that?? How rude!!
Never mind the fact that I’m childfree, it’s incredibly rude to go up to any woman and ask that, I don’t care if they’re visibly pregnant, you don’t ask them about that unless they want to talk about it. Yeesh.
