AITA for telling my dad what my mum puts in her β€˜pork stew’ after I accidentally found out she uses pig hearts?

Okay so basically my mum is absolutely furious with me and thinks I’m a shit stirrer, but I’m a huge believer in consent and that people should, you know, be aware of what goes into their mouths.

My mum has been making a stew for all of us for years and years, and tbh it’s ok. It’s not amazing, it’s not vile, but it was a staple she insisted on making and like I say, it was just alright.

She recently had the butcher deliver to the house and she asked me to bring the meat in, pack it away, and put it into the freezer. So I went about doing it when I came across a rather large amount of hearts, kidney, liver, etc. I was a bit (okay very) disgusted with the smell and was like wtf maybe the butcher gave this for the dog, idk.

So I asked my mum and she looked really shifty and said yeah, it all goes into the stew and that she hasn’t told my dad because he’d never eat it if he knew. She said she purposefully waits for my dad to be out the house before making it so he doesn’t know what’

Suggestion: the stew pot

In our camp we all have our purifier that gives us the best way to fight thirst, but what about the same idea for food? Sure, plant exist, but you either create soups out of them (that require 2 dirty water each and waste wood) or eat them raw and risk getting a disease.

This is where the stew pot comes in play! It's a camp item of a giant pot where you initially put 10 boiled water, then add everything you have, meat and vegetables. The more stuff you add to the stew pot, the more buffs you get. (There could also be some recipes that give you specific buffs) and when you're done with the stew, you take out a portion of it! That way you can come back to camp later and get another. Maybe visitors can get a warm meal at your camp, and so on. I wouldn't even be mad if it was an atomic shop item, because i would totally buy it

And yes, i took this idea from RDR2

What happened to the stew room/judges table?

I’ve been doing an aggressive rewatch/catch up of Top Chef since I stopped watching it regularly years and years ago - started off with season 6 since that was the season I most fondly remember watching as a DC native.

Jumped to season 16 (Kentucky) after that and realized they got rid of the stew room....what?? At what point in the show did that happen? watching the other contestant’s reactions after judges table was one of my favorite parts of the show. The chefs standing there kinda seems all ANTM-like and kind of gimmicky...not sure if I like it.

Things to make with Boneless Chuck that ISN’T beef stew or stroganoff?

I’ve been making Kenji Lopez-Alt’s β€œAll American Beef Stew” in the Instant Pot for years, and my 3 year old daughter and I loves it.

My wife, OTOH, has some sort of mental obstacle that she can’t get over regarding β€œbraised” beef. For some reason she just doesn’t like the luxuriously soft texture of braised beef, so even though she’ll eat my stew, and even enjoys the overall flavor, she says it still doesn’t do anything for her because of the braised aspect of it.

Is there anything else I can do with boneless beef chuck in the IP that might fare better for my wife? Any recipe suggestions should also be toddler-friendly (nothing too spicy or chock full of wine or beer)

As another thing to consider, She hates stroganoff too.

As the title says, but the veggies include, Bok Choy, egg plant, broccoli, carrots, Brussels sprouts, and we already had green beans and zucchini.

We have potatoes and rice, as well as some ground beef, that we could use as sides. But I would like to know how to create good meals this week so as not to throw all of that food out if it gets old. Any and all ideas are welcome. I’m not used to focusing solely on vegetables and my boyfriend felt so bad I told him we will eat all of it before it goes bad.

Can I ask butcher to cut large roast into stew meat?

If I buy 6 lbs or so? Is this weird? I've never bought anything from the butcher section before.

Edit. Turns out my grocery already have Chuck roast pre cut in stew meat for 1 buck more so I don't have to talk to the butcher.

Phew .....

A Township Tale Official Patch Notes 0.0.56.0 "Hunger System Change, Food re-balance, buffed up stews!"

Feast your eyes!

Good day, folks!

Today's update sees some changes to how hunger works! This is another thing we made an Altacast about last week, but here's the gist of it.

Currently you can eat as much as you want, be it 4000 blueberries or 100 Spriggull drumsticks, to the same effect. This means it didn't really matter what you ate, and so you carried whatever food you wanted on you.

In this update, we've introduced a 'hunger' count, which acts to describe how much food you can eat. If you're 'full', you can't eat anymore until one of the 'pips' disappears from your wrist gauges, allowing you to 'refill' that slot.

The existing hunger bar is still there, although we more aptly call it the 'Nutrition' bar now. Filling up on fullness doesn't mean your nutrition bar will fill all the way up, so you have to make sure to eat the highest quality foods
