Loki is the sweetest animal I have ever had the pleasure of having in my home. He is a snuggler, he plays and makes us laugh, he is quite literally our son. The day after Christmas, Loki began throwing up uncontrollably. We rushed him to the hospital as our usual vet was closed for the weekend. Over the course of the last 6 days Loki has been in and out of the hospital 4 or 5 times (I've had almost no sleep so everything is blurring together) with this last trip having him admitted for three days pending more tests. We tried to get him in with his usual vet office to ease our costs but they are booked out till February, and over half the staff has been sent home because they've contracted COVID. We just didn't have the time to wait it out since he hasn't been eating or drinking.
He has been given ultrasounds, x-rays, and blood panels to try and figure out what's causing him to vomit and be lethargic. All testing has come back inconclusive, and the two possibilities left are acute pancreatitis or cancer of the spleen.
No tests have been run for either as his doctors decided the cancer was unlikely even if it was a possibility, and it would cost us extra to test the pancreas which would be an unneeded cost since his treatment would be the same regardless of the results. Loki is currently back home and is on anti nausea medication as well as an appetite stimulant to try and get him eating and drinking before he develops what they call "fatty liver."
Now I know this year hasn't been easy on a lot of people, and it's not been easy on us either. My husband has been able to transition his work from his office to home but I have been unable to work due to my own health issues so we are in a tight situation. Even with my husband's Veteran discount at the hospital, since he served in the US Air Force, we have nearly maxed out our Care Credit card for his care and if he is unable to keep food down in the next 24 hours, he will need to have a feeding tube implanted into his neck and will need to stay in the hospital again which we just can't afford, especially with rent due tomorrow. We are unable to make the required monthly payments on the card without incurring exponential interest. We are not asking for everyone to pay for everything we need because he is our responsibility and we are doing our best to get him healthy but we fear we have already spent every dime we have and are still unable to get him better.

Hey, DIB? I know you found my Reddit. I hate you.
I’m home. And unemployed. It’s a long story. I think it started last Friday? I don’t know. My days aren’t straight. I decided to go visit Eileen to see if I could convince her to let me speak with Anne again. For anyone who doesn’t know, driving long distance on a motorcycle isn’t too bad. Unless you’ve got your dead Ex boyfriend chasing you on all fours. Then it sucks. When I packed up my crappy motel room to head out there was a knock at the door. When I opened it a severed finger was waiting on me. Last week it was a whole leg so I’ll take it. Sorry to the poor person that had to clean that up.
Do I feel bad for the people who are now missing body parts? Yes. Would I rather it be them then someone from my town? Yes. Is this statement foreshadowing what’s going to happen. Absolutely.
Oh also, Hi to anyone knew! Are you lost? This might help. Unless you’re at the bottom of the ocean and your oxygen is running out. In that case, I’m honored you’re reading my post. Freaking out would be way less fun.
When I made it back Centralia I drove straight to Elmwood. Erik was hot on my heels, this time running like a spider. To my shock he couldn’t even pass the barrier of the cemetery. I stopped the motorcycle and saw him hitting at the entrance as if trying to break down the door. I hopped off the bike and walked over to taunt him. He was growling and hitting the invisible barrier hard.
“Ha! Duped you, didn’t I?” I asked.
I watched as he ran away, stopped, then charged the door with an inhuman speed. Nothing.
“Clara Beara. Get out here.” He growled.
I said something unlady like and hopped back on the bike. The roar from the engine helped to block out his yelling.
I drove up to the little shack that’s an office and knocked. A woman who I thought was Eileen answered the door.
“Eileen? It’s Clara from Westwood. Do you remember me?” I asked.
“Eileens off today. I’m her sister, Irene.” She said. She held out her hand and I shook it.
“Irene! I’m so sorry. You really are identical.” I said.
“Our mother got us confused up until she passed. Did you bring the man I can hear yelling?” She asked.
“It’s a long story. Why can’t he enter?” I asked her.
“Whatever happened has stopped any supernatural thing from entering. They can leave if they were alrea... keep reading on reddit ➡
Ruptured tumor on spleen. No surgery/treatment.
Thank you for your patience for reading a long post. Any answers help.. We have a 10 year old lab mix. From Thursday of last week to Sunday evening, I noticed he wasn’t eating his food which he sometimes does this. He was acting fine until Sunday evening. He was playing with our other dog, up and running/barking like normal. He became lethargic however he DID eat all of his food Sunday night. Come Monday, now very lethargic, did not get up no matter how much I called him to come outside, did not get up to eat. We have another pup who will only eat when he eats (until she gets hungry enough). She ran back and forth to the bowl and him, barking, trying to get him up to eat. He did not get up to go outside, eat or drink water all day. Vet was able to get us in at 5pm. He finally urinated and had a BM for the first time since Sunday evening when we got to the vet.
Vet said his heart beat was muffled and thinks he has fluid around his heart. Did an X-ray and ultrasound. She found a 3-4 centimeter tumor/mass on his heart that ruptured. He had fluid/blood around his heart, making it difficult to see his heart but she said she thinks he also has a tumor/mass on his heart. She said he has probably had this for some time and it has probably ruptured before, the tumor will clot before it ruptures again. She was very honest and told us our options, chances and what she would do. Considering his age and being a large breed (84 pounds). Surgery is 50-50 chance and only adds a couple months.
She said he is not in pain and we could take him home and continue to keep him comfortable. She gave us Yunnan Baiyao capsules (to help with clotting) to give every 6 hrs for 2 days, then 2 capsules twice a day on going along with pain meds as needed. We took him home and the rest of the night he was acting the same way.
Monday morning comes and we have given him 3 doses of yunnan. Still kinda groggy, more alert, tail wagging! He wanted to go outside when we let our other pup out and ate half of his breakfast. Throughout the day, he seemed completely normal. Greeting me at the door, barking, tail wagging, even playing with his sister. He did seem kind of out of it.. Night came, he ate all of his dinner, he seemed tired, but it was a big day. A great day! Now Tuesday morning, still seems tired but joined us outside. He chewed at his bone, ate breakfast and now relaxing in his bed. Still mostly normal.
The vet said he has maybe 2... keep reading on reddit ➡
I'm not trying to be a dick, I am generally curious. I know someone who went to the hospital because she woke up during the night shaking. Now, 2 weeks later, she finds out it is seemingly everywhere; it is believed to be stage 3 or 4 ovarian cancer. From what I've been told, the only potential symptom was "burping up stuff" which she believed to be acid reflux. I don't know much about cancer and can't stop worrying about her lack of symptoms. I've have had some really bad anxiety about the "what ifs?". Can this really happen, or am I just not getting the whole story? Shouldn't she have had some sort of pain that was abnormal? Or no?
Will 1v1 in SS/UCD and purposefully lose to make you feel better about yourself for bobux. This is a real service, yes ez.
I know this is a weird question but I've called every butcher around me. Does anyone know where I can get some beef spleen? I live in Flatbush but at this point I'll travel pretty much anywhere in NYC
Also why don't most butcher employees even know wtf a spleen is??
"I honestly would've kept going, if it wasn't for my spleen being enlarged and it legitimately being a danger for me to have physical contact, I would've tried to continue to wrestle if I could have. If it was physically possible for me to go through my treatments and still wrestle, I would have."
I'm relatively new to the game but not a total newbie - I have three 'real' ascensions under my belt and about a dozen Goo runs to build up karma. I have a pretty good handle on the basic game mechanics now, I've played all the classes at least a little bit, and I'm having a great time.
One thing that doesn't make much sense to me, though, is spleen as an organ.
Is it for healing? We have plenty of healing items that don't consume spleen. Is it for potions? There are TONS of potions that aren't spleen items, and you can use as many as you like and stack powerful effects. Sometimes the spleen items you pick up in-run will give you a few stats, but it's not enough to make that much of a difference, and I've never managed to fill my spleen in a day just from the things I find during a run.
I've tried searching around for information about it, but most things I find are from before the nerf, back when there were Astral Energy Drinks and wads that gave adventures. So if I don't have a pill-keeper, or a spleen familiar or something like that, what does the game expect me to be using my spleen on? (and I'd love to get myself a pill keeper, but not for 50 bucks worth of meat! This game's economy is pretty cruel to latecomers, huh?)
In aftercore I fill my spleen with coffee pixie sticks or other adventure-giving items from the mall, but it feels weird to have an organ that I never use during ronin. Am I missing a trick? What purpose does spleen serve that isn't covered by other items already?

I started experiencing covid symptoms on Dec 26th, and got my positive lab test back yesterday.
One of my first symptoms was a swollen, painful feeling in my lower left abdomen, right inside my rib cage. I've weathered through most of the other COVID symptoms, but my spleen is still vrry swollen and very uncomfortable.
My brother (a nurse) wants me to get it checked out. I don't want to go in. I'm not screaming in pain. It's maybe a 5 to 5.5 on the pain scale. However, I do have a history of splenomegaly.
Thoughts? Should I go get this checked?
Some quick back story. When my fiance was 15 she had mononucleosis and was sick for about a year. It took them over 6 months to figure it out too. During this time they found that she has an accessory spleen attached to her normal spleen. Depending on what I've read, it could as little as 3% of the entire population that has one. After mono her spleen went back to normal and no other problems with it
Fast forward 15 years and out of no where her spleen swelled up back in October and it won't go down.
At 1st she had a fever of about 101 and extreme fatigue. This was the 1st week. Her temperature then fluctuated, for about 5 weeks, from normal to about 99.5. Her temp has been normal for about 3 weeks but the spleen won't go down.
We did 4 COVID tests and a COVID antibody test. All negative. We saw an infectious disease Dr. He thought it was Mono or Lupus. He tested everything he could think of. All tests were negative.
He referred us to a rheumatologist and all of his tests came back normal as well.
We were given 2, well 3 choices. 1) go home and wait. 2) speak to a surgeon and then they said we could talk to a blood specialists but they don't think it will do any good.
She has decided to give it a few more weeks and then maybe see a blood specialist.
The spleens are slightly swollen, and according to what my fiance has said, it's no where near as bad as when she had mono. She says it's more of an annoyance. She is still experiencing extreme fatigue and slight pain here or there.
It's now been about 9 weeks. She's been drinking a lot of green juices with ginger and turmeric and such. She says that it helps ease it.
She recently lost a lot of weight so idk if that has anything to do with it. She lost it very healthy though. Nothing like a juice cleanse. It took her 7 months
Her lymph nodes under her arm are slightly swollen as well. They said they are like a pea.
Also, last year she received vaccinations and her lymph node in the back of her head, behind her ear is permanently swollen from the MMR vaccine. I don't think that has anything to do with it but I thought I'd add it just in case
I really don't know what else to do. She's been sleeping all day, everyday and I'm starting to worry that it's going to cause other health issues.
Any advise you can give is appreciated. I can't find anything conclusive online. From the most part, she should eat warm meals to be easy on her digestive tract. No junk, process foods, all of the bad stuff lik... keep reading on reddit ➡
