I think they should have cavalries with breechloader while all European keep 16 century technology
I won't take former colonies that were repopulated by europeans like NZ, Australia, US, Canada, Uruguay or Argentina; only those that have been remaining a native majority before Europeans' arrive.
Spaniards increased the quality of life of the natives at the point that territories of the Spanish Crown in America, were part of the richest places in the world before the industrial revolution.
If you see; places like Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, Philipinas, or Bolivia are richer than India, Nigeria, Egypt or other english french former colonies. Let alone Ecuadorian Guinea, Mexico, Paraguay or Panama (this last one is closer to Eastern Europe when it comes to GDP per capita and HDI).
How would the Americas be like if Spain’s Viceroyalties broke from Spanish rule sort of like how Brazil did with Portugal instead of the revolution wars that created constant power vacuums and political turmoil? Would Mexico & Brazil be superpowers that keep the US’s power in check?
