u/rukafawkes and I figured H. spadix is prevalent in southeastern Oregon based on its distribution in Idaho, Nevada, and California, and have made it our goal to find the edges of their distribution in the state. Our search starts with this fellow found just 6 miles east of Adel, OR!
This plant (βThe Corpse Plantβ, so named because itβs flower smells like rotting flesh) has grown almost 0.5m/19in in a week. The central βspadixβ can grow up to 3m/10ft tall. Photo taken at Kew Gardens, London.
2 Hadrurus Spadix I found with a u.v light. Found the big one in the Northwestern corner of Nevada and found the little one close by but on the California side of the boarder. Saw lots of P. Free pattern, Purifying Puritans, has included multiple photos BUT... only one of them (#4) includes these little cylindrical yellow stitches that look like a spadix inside the petals. Anyone familiar with this pattern or that specific stitch who can explain how that is done?

Odd looking spadix?
Day 2 of the Black Cardinal bloom. Spathe has closed up around the bottom more and pollin is forming on the spadix. Going to clip the bloom soon and put in a zip lock in the freezer so that when my Moonlight blooms here in a week or so I can pollinate it and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Hey guys, anyone can identify this plant? I put my skate to scale. I thought that was a Xanthosoma Sagittifolium (Taioba in Brazil) that have a lot of natural variations, but the leaf is too hard and have curved edges. I took a picture of the spathe and spadix too. reddit.com/gallery/miagf7

I went to the Black rock desert to look for scorpions, under the first rock I flipped over I found this gorgeous H. Spadix. It's about 4.5 inches long. I have wanted to find a big scorpion in the wild my entire life so it was a very cool experience.

Humidity levels for Hadrurus Spadix
Bought a scorpion about a month ago and his tank substrate has been drying. The humidity levels in the tank go anywhere from 25%during the day -45% at night with the light off. Will this be good enough for it to survive? I know humidity levels are critical with this scorpion because of Mycosis. If it needs to be lower would a dehumidifier help?
