Anyone up for a boycott? Sonoma & Napa county restaurants, tasting rooms, suppliers suing the state over health orders

Learned about this through the SF Gate article here. To know who all's taking part, the coalition's own website is here. Naturally anyone who made a show of disregarding the public health officials is present.

I know I won't be visiting any of these establishments. I welcome everyone else who feels that their attitude and action here are inappropriate to do the same.

And it's not that I don't get it. I'm a foodservice worker. We're well down on production. My team shrank when this all got started last year, and that smaller team is now having to cut hours. This whole situation sucks. But the pandemic is worse now than ever, and to hell with anyone not taking this disease seriously.

Sonoma County, CA Jane Doe (1979) Write up and Missing persons comparisons. Unidentified victim of Hitch Hiker killer.

Sonoma County Jane Doe (1979)

Context:

The Sonoma County Jane Doe was a female found in a ravine on July 2, 1979 . The location was a dumping ground for an unidentified serial killer commonly referred to as the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker killer. She is the only unidentified victim.

The skeletal remains of a young unidentified white female were found in a ravine off Calistoga Road approximately 100 yards from where the body of Lori Lee Kursa had been recovered seven years earlier. Lori Lee Kursa was the Serial Killers 5th victim. Kursa who was 13 at the time had been reported missing by her mother on November 11, 1972 after disappearing while they shopped at a U-Save and was last seen on November 20th or 21st in Santa Rosa while visiting friends having deliberately run away. Her frozen remains were located on December 14, 1972.

The unidentifed victim had been hogtied and her arm fractured around the time of her murder. It was determined that the unidentified victim was approximately 16 to 21 years old, wore hard contact lenses (kept in a metal candy tin with a picture of cherries on it), had either red, auburn, or brown hair, was about 5 feet 3 inches tall and at one time had broken a rib which had healed before the time of the murder. Her weight and eye color could not be determined due to decomposition, and no clothing was found. Experts believe the victim was likely killed between 1972 and 1974 and was about 19 years old. Hard contact lenses were not often sold in the United States and Canada after the mid-1970s, when soft contact lenses became available. She had also been bound in the same manner as Theresa Walsh, Santa Rosa HitchHiker killer's 7th victim.

Theresa Diane Smith Walsh, 23, was last seen on December 22, 1973, at Zuma Beach in Malibu, intent on hitchhiking to Garberville and joining her family for Christmas. Her partially submerged body was found six days later on December 28th by kayakers in Mark West Creek. She had been hogtied with clothesline rope, sexually assaulted, strangled and had been dead approximately one week when her body was discovered.

The Kursa and Walsh murders give us a little insight into the possible timeframe of Jane Does murder. Kursa was killed between November 20th and December 14, 1972. Her body was located approximately 100 yards from where Jane Doe was located seven years later. Walsh was killed between December 22, 1973 and December 28th. [2] Geoguessr Tour of California - Stage 2 Sonoma County

Second stage of GeoGuessr Tour of California just started. After a fast inaugural stage in Sacramente, things are already getting serious with a more challenging stage in Sonoma County. This region of California is in the heart of Wine Country and just west of stage 1 city of Sacramento.

Round 1 and round 5 are valid for the mountain classifications and both are cat2. A suggestion for the newcomers to this type of challenges, don't rush pinpointing in rural and mountain rounds, just a hundred of meters is already almost 10 minutes of penalty. The time limit for this second and more challenging stage is 150% of the winner of the stage.

Here is the link for stage 2

The deadline for this stage is again in 48h from now, 12/01 at 10am PST.

u/deep-thot won the stage with a very fast time after a decisive sprint against u/exohugh, while u/Stymphalix got third place a bit more than 1 minute behind. Tour de Suisse winner u/demfrecklestho is fifth after the convincing rookie u/SkydivingFerret818. With such a fast stage, it is not surprising that half of the peloton finished above the time limit and got the gruppetto time. Unfortunately 5 guessers already abandoned before the end of stage 1.

The stage classification is of course also the GC after first stage

The top times in each round have ben set by u/plouky u/Stymphalix u/HappyStapler u/deep-thot and, in the last round valid also for the mountain classification, by u/exohugh. As a reminder the top time of each round gets 3 points for the dedicated standings. GC leader u/deep-thot also leads point classification.

Points Classification

There is no need to post the mountain classification where u/exohugh leads with 1 point.

Enjoy Stage 2 and feel free to leave your comments and/or walkthrough in this thread.

How to keep your teeth as a poor person in Sonoma County

EDIT: I have gotten SO MUCH good info from everyone, thank you all so so much and thanks for making me feel warm and fuzzy about my community πŸ’• Y’all are the best!!

So, pretty sure I’ve exhausted all the leads already (shy of medical tourism, never left the country before and don’t have a passport) but anyone have any hot tips on how to afford dental work on MediCal without going to Western Dental (deeply unpleasant) or SR Community (way way way too put upon)?

I’d love to keep eating solid food but thanks to wildly fluctuating dental coverage and questionable work over the course of my life, my teeth are slowly β€œgetting rekt” no matter how well I take care of them now πŸ™ƒ

THANKS FRIENDS AND HAVE A GREAT ONE
