Bungie THANK YOU For Putting a Trials Goal on the Solstice Armor

I’ve never played trials before and now I know how much I’m not missing out on! This has hands-down been my most frustrating and exhausting day of Destiny. I am never touching this game mode again when I finish these stupid boots

It's crazy that finishing the Solstice armor quest gets you 30 key fragments

A task that took hours, even with the 3x boost, and Bungie is like "Congrats! Here's something that you can get in 5 minutes of public events."

I mean, something like 5 or 10 packages seems way more appropriate than 30 key fragments.

The trials objective for the solstice armor should have been percentage based with wins granting the most progress and completions granting minimal progress.

Title. Considering the state of trials, I don't think anyone is enjoying themselves. Granting atleast a little bit of progress for atleast completing the match would make this a bit easier to swallow while wins give you a nice little jump.

Solstice Armor - All Classes - White Glow - Pictures of (almost) all shaders applied

You guys liked my last post about the hunter solstice armor, so I went nuts ahead and did the other two classes aswell.

Titan

Warlock

Hunter

Sadly I'm missing some shaders from CoO and Warmind. u/Rinewick helped me with some of the shaders for the hunter armor. Currently I have screenshots of 250 shaders for the Warlock armor and 253 for the Titan and Hunter armor.

If anyone can provide some screenshots of the armors with any of my missing shaders I will gladly add them to the imgur album.

Thanks to u/brynm, u/arandomusertoo and again u/Rinewick I added a couple more screenshots.

2x and 3x Modifier for Solstice Armor Challenges Officially Confirmed by DMG

Title, DMG has confirmed that it is indeed a thing that's supposed to be happening via this tweet. Get to grinding, fellow Guardians :)https://twitter.com/A_dmg04/status/1293558859068346368

DO NOT START ON YOUR TITAN, THERE'S A TON OF REPORTS THAT IT'S BUGGED AND WON'T GIVE 2X MODIFIER, SO DO YOUR TITAN ARMOR AS YOUR SECOND OR THIRD.Yes, Bungie knows about this bug. Cozmo replied here on the r/DestinyTheGame subreddit.

Additional note regarding Titans, there seems to be mixed statements regarding it sometimes giving a 2x buff to other characters and sometimes it won't, so choose carefully who to start with :)

**As of 6:20pm ET, the Titan progression bug has been fixed and on top of that, the Renewed armor set will also get a 2x or 3x bonus

Still new to this game but Im finding a good amount of exotics now but i think this hand cannon is so my far my favourite. Also I got questions regaring the solstice event and armor.

So I went to guys in nessus in this flying gold ship, who apparently is only there on weekends, traded some legendary shard things and I got this beast I bloody destroys also regarding the skin.. LOL I remember i saw it on sale on the everstore and I thought it was the actual gun! Welp at least after months I got used for it now. So far my top fav is the sunshot and the huckeberry.

_also just noticed that when i shoot someone with this sunshot and another enemies are close it causes like a chain reaction...the chaos..I LOVE IT_ (sorry im just so hyped, really loving this game)

You guys got any recommendations for exotics to get next? (also really want the cataylst for this gun if anyone knows how to get it)

Regarding the armor FINALLY DONE but is it true I cant do any of the stuff to get the glow without the DLC? I dont have any DLCS rn I was gonna buy them but im kinda broke.

Edit: Damn i wish I could edit that title

  1. Put on the blues and do what they ask, it's not too bad.
  2. When all are done go meditate, they turn purple.
  3. Go to Eververse and buy the non-unlocked glow-ornaments for bright dust.
  4. Put your old armor back on and turn on the solstice ornaments.
  5. Turn off the ornaments because your old armor looks better anyway.

Can you still get White Glow on Solstice armor?

Hey, I was in Solstice of Heroes 2020, I got the armor, got it up to Magnificent on all classes, plus I bought the Colored Glow Ornaments, but I wasn't able to get the White Glow... You get them via completing the special singular objective that's displayed on the armor pieces, right? Thing is... the objectives are showing up still, does that mean I can still play the objectives and earn those White Glows even though Solstice of Heroes 2020 is over? If so, that'd be fantastic! If not, then...well...I'll try again next Solstice of Heroes then.

Eververse Solstice Armor Glow Intensity: Before/After Patch Comparison

Took some screenshots of the Eververse Solstice Armor Glows from before today's patch and from after today's patch, in which Bungie fixed (increased) the intensity of the glows. Just for reference as a quick comparison to see the glow intensity difference for all classes and subclasses.

Screenshots are from Character Select Screen and also from Tribute Hall at full super intensity.

I'm rather shocked that there's a rather large amount of players who misinformed. Who are grinding out there Solstice armor expecting a full set of master worked 1060 amour.

Just stating the fact, not saying it should. That’s a whole other debate.

It’s just that a lot of people who I played with this week think after they complete the amour objectives think they are getting a fully master worked set of 1060 armor. I’m not the only one who has noticed this, some of my Destiny friends have noticed this as well.

This being a common misconception that due to last two Solstice Of Heroes events gave fully master worked sets at max power level and that this year wouldn’t be a different. Those people are sadly mistaken.

Seeing a lot of people saying absolutely stupid things like "7 Trials wins? That's unreachable for the average player. I'm just a humble bounty farmer who never leaves PvE how is this fair." I say fuck them. They say nothing when us PvP players get forced into doing lame and boring PvE activities for triumphs and for this event, but right when they have to go into one PvP thing, they blow their PvP hating FOMO load all over r/DTG. 5 Flawless cards would not only be challenging, it would also be easy ever since i downloaded my "aim trainer" which has given me a 98% headshot ratio using my Revoker. The hidden β€œmechanics” of Solstice Armor

This is just a post to round up all the β€œsecret mechanics” (can’t think of a better way to put it) of SoH armor upgrading. I’ll be updating this as I find more, but I currently feel there’s only 3 that need to be known

1.) as a previous post pointed out Dmg Confirmed that armor progress will double and triple after completing an armor set. But he was vague so I’ll elaborate further

2.) You gain X2 (and X3) by completing the first 2 armor sets and doing 1 challenge on the final set to earn a white glow. If you don’t unlock at least 1 white glow, your other characters will not get the bonus.

NOTE: DO YOUR TITANS LAST for some strange reason, titans do not award the progression bonus. Save your Titan for last to receive the x3 progression bonus.

3.) the final challenges will unlock on all sets IF you already own the final set on a 2nd/3rd character. It only has to be equipped on the character completing the activity, and

Questionable Advice: Don’t want to play 10 Gambit matches for the Solstice armor? Make a fireteam of 4 to throw Gambit matches.

Did your heart sink after seeing that you have to complete 10 Gambit matches to upgrade the Majestic Solstice armor? Don’t worry, mind did too. Did you then try completing a Gambit match, won, and was dismayed after finding out wins don’t give extra progress? Let me tell you my solution to this problem.

First, form a fireteam on the various lfg platforms with the title β€œThrowing 10 Gambit matches for Solstice Armor Obj”.

Second, get into your fireteam and launch Gambit [Prime]. Both forms of Gambit will count.

Third, Do whatever you want during the match, but try not banking or invading to let the enemy team summon and their Primeval as quickly as possible.

extra: do note that there are more enemies in regular Gambit, but you can get Gambit Prime medals like Massacre in Prime.

extra xtra: you can focus on getting elemental kills for your other Solstice armor objectives since there will be more waves of enemies b/c you never summon your Primeval

3xtra: you can’t generate elementa

Solstice armor glows confirmed to be less bright than *intended*

Haven't seen this posted here yet, but the TWAB yesterday confirmed that the difference in the glows for in-game vs. what was shown in Neververse wasn't some error in the advertisement image. Rather, the actual glows were dimmer than what was intended, which is great news.

At least now, since it's an error on their list, we can reasonably expect it to be fixed at some point. That is opposed to what people on this sub were saying, i.e. Bungie would just update the advertisement to match the dim glow.

So at least one piece of good news.

(Seriously Bungie, why give a way to earn exotics from vaulted locations, but not do the same for their catalysts??)
