The person who named snowmobiles missed a serious opportunity to name them snowtercycles
Motorcycles aren’t called roadmobiles. I think they just tried to get too fancy, but had a chance to keep things uniform.
Don’t even get my started on Jet Skis. Those easily could of been Boatercycles
Snowmobile clubs are completing the marking of Snowmobile trails for the upcoming season. The clubs need everyone to understand that we have permission for snowmobiling only.
Many of these trails are on private property, and those landowners have granted permission for snowmobiling only. Please respect those landowners by asking them before accessing their property.
Sometime between Midnight and 6am this morning, my trailer and sled were stolen off my truck in front of my home. Please contact me if you spot this or pass information directly to the police. File No: 20-131390. Key was not in sled. No tarp or any other accessories. Thanks for your help.
And he came back home shortly after with Tim Horton’s... now that’s the kind of energy we need to get through this folks keep it up 😂
I am buying my first snowmobile for the winter and am looking at a 2011 Yamaha Vector 1000cc with 10k miles for $3200. I like the fact that it is a 4 stroke and will hopefully have less issues than a 2 stroke. I am mostly gonna be doing trail riding, with some off trail and lake riding. I have only ridden 2 stroke, and I think that I will miss the instant power and feel of one. Is there a 2 stroke sled that would be similar in price and reliability to the Yamaha? Thanks
Edit: forgot to mention it has a 141" track. Would this hurt maneuverability?
I ordered a new GoPro and I plan on putting it on th side of my snowmobile helmet so then the GoPro would be on its side. Would there be a way in the app or directly on the GoPro to filp it to make it right. If there isn’t I am going to have to mount it to the top of my helmet but I am not sure if it would fly off being up above the windshield on my snowmobile.
Looking to get my first ever snowmobile but I have no clue what I should be looking for or what a good price is. I’d primarily use it on trails and just sort of backcountry not racing or mountains or anything crazy and yea just looking for advice, I don’t need anything crazy but I’m also not looking to have something from like the 90’s lol could probably drop like $10k ish Canadian max but certainly prefer less haha.
Should I get new or used?
Is there a company that’s superior to the rest?
Is there any specific specs I should be looking for in terms of engine or other parts? (read someone say 4 stroke over 2 or something like that on another persons post on the subreddit)
I’m in Ontario Canada if that matters. Thanks in advance :)
