I love Charles. π What are your favorite Winchester quotes?
Cut to Tony popping the cork and chugging straight from the bottle two steps out the door. (S4E6 - Everybody Hurts)
also how about that dream sequence afterward? madon', some spooky shit
So, no shit, there I was, driving with my severely disabled brother to the local Mack-Ronalds. I order our usual--twenty nuggets and a diet coke for him, two diet cokes for me. All's good, the person taking my order is the manager who I love, and my brother is in a good mood.
Drive to the window, get handed the nuggets and brother's soda. As I'm waiting for mine, I watch the workers. Glad I did, bevause I saw the lady making my order lift the lid to my drink and fucking SNIFF IT. In the middle of a global pandemic. Holy shit. So I look over to my brother with a 'you seeing this shit'? Look. He's too enthralled with his food to notice.
She calls my attention back to hand me my two sodas, which I stunnedly accept. Now, I need to talk to a manager, but my brother is super routine-oriented. He would NOT tolerate his nuggets being taken back. He's not immunocompromised or anything, and he's already started eating, so I drive him home and put him in the custody of my parents before driving back.
I go back and ask to talk to the manager. Gotta take a brief bit to rave about this guy--he's nice, he's got a face mask that I absolutely adore the look of, he's professional, and he's sensible. So I'm pulled aside and talk to him.
I tell him the situation, and he informs me that he knows. While I was looking at my brother, he'd seen her and grabbed the soda, pouring it out and getting new ones. I have no reason to doubt his truth--I haven't gotten the 'rona yet. Can we say a quick hail satan for awesome Mack-Ronalds managers?
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I rarely drink, work for a liquor company, and get customers all the time asking for my recommendation. Instead of admitting that I don't drink, I've been going based on what my coworkers say and like as well as what other customers who've come by and told me which ones they like and why. This is not a all peer pressure or anything, but I have been curious about all the different types of bourbon, whiskey, and scotch out there and would like to eventually try them all (so to speak) and make my own taste palette for better recommendations when customers ask.
One of our cashiers bought me a Eagle Rare and I got myself a Handy & Schiller RTD Old Fashion (because I like the idea of how an Old Fashion is made) as well as picked up a Crown Royal tumbler laying around from a gift set. However, I see all these pictures of the bottle with a Snifter. Do I need one to truly enjoy a bottle or will my Crown tumbler suffice?
Also, I should note that I plan on watering down my liquor at first and little by little lessening the water until I'm ready to drink it neat or on the rocks - whichever I decide then. So any recommendations is greatly appreciated. Whenever I get the chance, I plan on getting a bottle of Four Roses. Our store has the single, small, and select patches. Can't tell which to get or if I should get all 3...
Outraged. Give us real snifters!

Good evening all, Any chance someone out there has a set (or knows of a set?) of the Clase Azul skull snifters, and would consider parting with them? A dear friend (who happens to be an enthusiastic tequila collector & drinker) has gone through more than Iβd care to share this past month, and I would like nothing more than to surprise her with a bit of a white whale. Sheβs got the matching bottle, and has spoken about the snifters for I donβt know how long...but has never been able to track down a pair. I sincerely appreciate your time and consideration, any info or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Ciao!
About 3 years ago, New Holland Brewing released box sets of dragons milk with a snifter glass included. I snagged one, and since then i've had a single reliable snifter glass. The new holland and dragons milk branding has worn away, leaving me a blank snifter which I love. I'd love to purchase some more glasses that match, but I can't find what company made the original snifter. It's probably some chinesium company that makes billions of these, but I want to know which one. Thanks in advance, fellow hoosiers
I thought Snifters where the go to for Brandy. I get some people will prefer other glasses but I am surprised at just how many reviews are done with the slimmer glasses.
There's an episode of The Simpsons where Homer's trying to bullshit a life insurance company, and when the guy asks if he drinks, he says, "I do enjoy a snifter of port at Christmas."
I think about that line every year around this time.
Imagine if you only drank at Christmas.
I would spend the other 364 years climbing the fucking walls and crossing days off the calendar with a trembling hand (like when Homer quit beer for a month. Damn, that show really understood alkies. I know it's still on. I use the past tense because it's now sucked for way longer than it was brilliant.)
Maybe even as a kid, when I had no fucking clue what a snifter was (still not totally sure, tbh) I knew that Homer wouldn't be Homer without the sauce.
Maybe the idea that he had to conceal his true self to get by bummed me out.
Probably not. People always think they were way deeper as kids than they actually were.
I have an ex who says she used to solve Rubik's cubes when she was 3. What a lying hoe. I kid!
What was my point here? Eh...I'm hammered and I lost it.
Gotta work from home tomorrow, but "Fairytale of New York" will be on repeat. Might even bust out Bad Santa.
Any good CA Christmas culture I'm forgetting about?
Was that question why I started this post in the first place? Sure, let's go with that!
I've been looking around online for a while, but I'm struggling to find something. Leather, obviously, is the desired upholstery. I very much have an English (or Scottish, sure) country aesthetic, and in our new living room, this will be paired with an English-style roll-arm sofa.
The only other constraints are size -- it can't be more than about 37" wide or a similar depth, or it's just not going to fit. Ideally, arms 24-26" high, because I've got a side table I built last year that I'd like to sit beside it, but that's not a requirement -- I can always acquire or build a new side table.
Thanks to anyone who has any ideas!
So a few days ago, I went to a restaurant and after the meal, I ordered a glass of cointreau.
I do this quite often and most restaurants give it to you in an Old Fashioned glass with ice.
This time, I got it neat in a snifter. The problem was that whenever I tried to drink it, there would be a bunch of vapors or something that got in my eyes. It hurt like hell.
Is there something I should have known about snifter glasses? Or did it just have to do with the cointreau/lack of ice?
Look, Iβm gonna admit Iβm not sophisticated but there has got to be something wrong with that
and how many fl. ounces/ml is it and where are you located?
Thanks
Hi r/Brandy! I have a spirits enthusiast boyfriend who has often mentioned that he finds most brandy snifters too thick. What is the best (affordable) paper-thin crystal snifter? When I google the Riedel Vinum set comes up a lot, but I hesitate to buy them since I donβt care for their quality in wine glasses. What do you guys and gals think?
Among my beer glassware, I recently have acquired a beer snifter.I know that this type of glass is good for drinking imperial stout, barley wine, but so far for me, it's been good for drinking every beer so far that I've tried it with. It's become my favorite glass, and I've started to wonder if it could be used for any beer.
So... are there beer types that you wouldn't recommend drinking in a snifters? I'm already assuming that it wouldn't be great for hefeweizens or other wheat beers, as they are usually paired with tall glasses that display the effervescence more fully. Other than that, what other types would be outright diminished by drinking in a snifters (but not types that would be more or less the same with a snifter as with another glass)?
This is with an understanding that taste is often subjective, and that good beer will still be pretty good even in the "wrong" glass; I just want to get aroma from the beer I drink in the best way reasonably possible.
I wrote a short Instagram post to explain why tulip glass is better for brandy taste. The post is not meant to make people embarrassed about their choice, but more educational. For myself, I have only switched to tulip glass a few months ago!
What kind of straws/ tooters do you like best? My favourite are the McDonalds straws since they are wide and pretty easy to snag. A close second is the straws from Starbucks, I like the green color :). There at a time were gold straws for ICEEs at the gas station which I liked. Felt super classy. At one point I had a vacuum cleaner tooter I bought at a head shop which I enjoyed the novelty of such. I also purchased something called a bullet, normally for cocaine where you load the substance in it and twist the cap to allow a bump to come out and put it in your nostril and whammy!

I'm interested in buying snifter for some of my favorite beers, but I'm a little bit torn on sizes. I plan to use this glass for brandies and ports as well.
After shopping around, I've seen snifters sold in a wide range of sizes from 5 oz tasting to a monster 33 oz.
Few of my favorite pubs (like Dogfish) serve their beers in 10oz snifters. But I'm seeing 12oz and 14oz snifters. I know I'd want an 9oz to 14 oz snifter... is there an optimum size? Should I go with 10 oz (since that seems to be consistent with the pubs I go to) or is there a reason I should go to 14 oz?
Thank you!
