Alright, short story. We’ve had a mouse problem and I have several mousetraps put out. I’ve always been told that snap traps (the quintessential mousetrap that snaps a bar down on a mouse) is the most humane way to quickly dispatch a pesky mouse.
This is not true.
I was standing in the bathroom in my robe, brushing my teeth, when suddenly... SNAP!
“Got one!” My wife and I said in harmony.
I went to check on my trophy kill only to find a mouse, half alive, staring and panting at me. He looked so scared and immediately my heart sank and I wanted to cry. I immediately felt guilty and wished I could unsnap the trap.
I am a firefighter and a paramedic and have seen countless horrible things, I have caught mice in snap traps before, but seeing this poor bugger suffering made me sick.
I thought of the best way to finish the job, and first I thought about blasting it with a shotgun, but I didn’t know the best way to do that at night.
I eventually settled on beating it to death with a transfer shovel in my driveway while in my robe and underwear while apologizing profusely. Now I am sad.
Tl;dr I gave a rodent a Vikings death
Edit 1: for those concerned for my thought process, no I was not going to pop the mouse with a gun inside my house. That would be crazy. Instead I was working out a way to stuff it down the barrel partially and send it to the fucking stars outside. In hindsight, a shovel was a decent idea.
Also, thanks for the awards. They will forever be in Mr. Mouses memory.
And for anyone recommending glue traps; no.
Edit B: I typically use live traps and have moderate to decent success with them. We needed to bolster our traps because our kitchen is where they congregate and god dammit I just want to cook some eggs.
Edit III: a lot of people are recommending that I get a cat. As much as I love cats I am allergic and not about to take on a huge responsibility just to solve a mouse problem. Also, I really want to emphasize that we USE LIVE TRAPS. We had several out for roughly a week but the mice have learned how to get out. I do not like killing things but I did not want to have this poor thing suffering.
How does it have 3.8 out of 10 user score
Why is so many people giving it 0 or 1
I don’t even think it’s that bad, I’m enjoying myself
I can't express how amazing it is to have a game that is basically 100% about world building and imagining Pokemon in their natural habitats and the kinds of stuff they get up to. Every time I see a new Pokemon I gasp out loud

The major growth in Amazon's advertising unit means its revenue contribution is now 2.4 times larger than Snap, Twitter, Roku and Pinterest combined, and it's growing 1.7 times as quickly, according to Loop Capital.
Amazon's "Other" unit, which is primarily made up of advertising but also includes sales related to other service offerings, grew revenue a massive 77% year-over-year to more than $6.9 billion in the first quarter, the company reported last month.
This is another bright spot of amazon stock. Ad revenue is highly profitable like AWS, so it could use the profit to support other business. The ad revenue is growing very fast so it could able to compete with FB and Googl in the future. The stock is trading under $3300, investors should consider buying some and hold.
Thanks for the awards.
I had a few drinks last night and watched my gf play for a couple hours and its pretty good. You can tell they put some legitimate effort into this and didn’t mail it in.

>New Pokémon Snap might be one of the most thoroughly pleasant games that's come out for the Switch, if not ever. While the core gameplay is the same as it was in 1999, everything about the 2021 game is better. The environments are visual delights, the Pokémon are lovingly recreated, and the progression and pacing are just right. If the hobby of gaming has started to feel like a second or third job, then New Pokémon Snap might just be the vacation you need.
>New Pokemon Snap is a true gift to the fans, that came out 22 years after the original release. But newcomers can enjoy this game too, by having fun with tons and tons of pokemons, in an easy going and enjoyable ways.
>If, like us, you've been waiting a significant chunk of your life for a sequel to Pokémon Snap, then you're in luck; New Pokémon Snap brings back almost everything that made the original special and fleshes it out into a much more elaborate game. This is something you can sink some serious time into and while there are some minor frustrations and pacing issues in the story, playing freely at your own pace is a pure joy. The original has gone down in history possibly as Pokémon's greatest spinoff, and it may have just been dethroned.

He's really annoyed me.
He's generally very supportive but I've been suffering with morning sickness since 5 weeks, now 11+2 and I still feel awful and sorry for myself - I understand he's frustrated and just wants his wife back but I'm having a real hard time.
He also told me to sort myself out as he saw our pregnant neighbor was on her Pelaton in the garage and I was sat on the sofa eating chips as it's the only thing I can stomach. I'm 130lb and 5ft7 not exactly overweight to be honest but I haven't exercised much due to just feeling so sick. Considering if he has so much as a headache the world is ending, I kind of feel like I deserve a medal for still managing to do all the cooking, cleaning and walking the dogs twice a day while vomiting up EVERYTHING I eat.
Basically I feel like telling him to go fuck himself
