I absolutely hate these two areas! Let's start with smoldering Lake, and the obvious Giant Crossbow! Why! This Thing is litterally the pain of my existence! And then there are the 7 giant crabs, which are also a pain to deal with! But let's continue with the demon ruins! There are those four Gruhs who poison and toxic you and attack so quickly! And then there are the two jumping Gruhs, which is propaply the enemy that has killed me the most in Ds3, not joking! Then there is that room with the fireballs, like who thought that was a good idea! It's so annoying and the pyromancers have so much health! Then there is the room with the basiliscs, who are annoying, but not that hard to deal with! And the there is Tsorig! My King of Despair, he has Poise, a big health bar, and so much damage! Yeah, thaz was it, thanks for coming to my Ted talk! Maybe share your most hated or least favorite areas in the game!
I've played don't starve on and off over the years. I've come back recently for a bit and was thinking about the whole smoldering mechanic. It's a game mechanic that I kind of just accepted was a thing and haven't given much thought until now.
Smoldering is a mechanic during summer. For standard settings in DST, between the 3rd and last 3rd day of summer during day, flammables may randomly smolder and catch on fire if not put out quickly enough.
For short worlds (<140 days is my loose definition), it's an added challenge to summer that players have to watch out for. For long worlds, it severely restricts the creativity the player has on the surface, and it's mainly because there's no good long term solution.
Following are my loose thoughts on various smoldering related topics

Just look those up in the internet, they're very cool.
When those were leaked, many speculated that they'd be tied to class progression, right? Seems very fair, considering how after level 10 it gets very hard to level up, and it seems obvious that skins would be one of the rewards.
The class progress gives us Artifacts, Badges, Cards, Afterglows, Cloudbursts, Triumphs, Titles, y'know the only thing that it doesn't rewards us? Outfits.
Yes, I know that outfits in this game are very expensive, but it's not like leveling up your class level is easy. If you reach max level on any class you already have enough money to buy several skins. It's hard and it takes hundreds upon hundreds of matches to reach it. And let's be real, everyone here likes to show how good they are using their favorite Gauntlet, those skins would be the ultimate flex.
My point is: having those class outfits be sold at the store is something that makes me very disappointed at the future of now this game will handle collectibles. As of now, it seems that the only way to get items is by the store, using Gold.
These class skins have an obvious progression (Rare to Epic to Legendary) it was ABSURDLY obvious that it would be a class' progression reward, that you would obtain the rare variant early on, and as you level up you'd obtain the epic and when you finally reach max level you'd get the Legendary one, the ultimate testimony of your mastery and commitment to one class, something that shouldn't b

Hi all,
Just got my Sylvaneth starter box, first AoS army, and I wanted a total departure from my cold 40k Drukhari (lots of harsh blues and deep sea greens and blacks). I was inspired by someone who had made an Aqshy Sylvaneth army that was totally black based, drybrushed with white, and highlighted with orange, giving a totally charred look.
For my own army, I want to make an Autumn themed set, particularly painting the leaves so they fade yellow into orange into red, as you would paint flames. Eyes and mouths done with orange, yellow and white. Symbols probably drybrushed with orange. And then drybrushing their feet and part way up their legs totally black, with white drybrushing on top so just the ends of their legs, and maybe arms too, look burned to a crisp. I think it will give a really nice effect.
But I dont know what to do for the rest of the bark. And for the bare wood of the TLA (making my TL into a TLA). It cant be too complex, this is already going to tax my limited abilities. But I have never painted "wood" before and dont know where to start.
I am guessing base with white as opposed to black as I usually would. But where from there? What do you think would both fade well into black at the burned bits, contrast nicely with the orange highlights, and look good with the "flaming" leaves?
Advice on both colours and techniques would be appreciated. No airbrushing please, I simply dont have the space/equipment/budget for that.
Iโm really not a fan of the connection then. Ash lake feels ancient and otherworldly, with chilling music, and fantastic visuals to match. Smoldering lake just feels like a big cave, with no music, and a boss fight. Ash Lake also has a great entrance, going through the secret entrance in the Great Hollow, it feels like you stumbled upon something you werenโt supposed to. Smoldering Lake is just connected to the catacombs through a regular hallway.
I think halfway through development, someone suggested the idea that the area be like Ash Lake, with the archtrees in the distance, and the name change. They donโt feel like the same place at all, and itโs pretty weird fan service. Thoughts?
Hi, I'm a holy paladin and today in my vault I have a 226 ilvl battlemaster trinket and a 226 tuft of smoldering plumage mythic healing trinket (the one from Kael Thas).
Does anybody know if this trinket is worth using in PvP, or if it was heavily nerfed? Let's not forget that I'd also miss out on the 40% versa bonus.
This is my 2nd year composting, mainly with fallen leaves that I shredded with the lawnmower. Last year though it worked, I never saw steam production like this. I'm pretty surprised though, because last year I added quite a bit of green plant matter from at least 20 various plants -- and I thought that the greens were pretty important.
The main difference this year is the amount of urine I added to the pile. Last year I was adding it little by little after filling up empty gallon milk bottles, but this year I didn't have any greens to add, so I knew I was gonna need a good amount of nitrogen. Kinda gross, but I started saving urine for a couple wks before I did the pile. I kept everything tightly capped though, so it wasn't too bad.
I started what was a basic pyramid pile a little over 3 ft tall, added 5 gallons of urine to it, and gave it a good soaking with the hose to let it work through. I then left it alone for a couple wks until today, and right when I took the top layer off it, steam started pouring out of it with ambient temp in the mid 40's F. It seemed like it was smoldering all the way down to the ground as I turned it.
I gave the area it's in a good raking, and got another nice little amount of shredded leaves to throw in, and I also added another 4 gallons of urine today. It smelled earthy and fine today initially, and I'm gonna see how it is next time before I start adding more urine. I guess they say if you add too much it'll smell a little pissy, so I don't wanna go that far with it haha. How much do you guys think would be too much for a pile like this?
Anyone else feel like the cheat death mechanic on this trinket doesnt always trigger? Anyone know what might be interfering with it? Often times I'll slap it on the tank and then they die instead of being insta-healed. Just looking for input on whether I'm doing something wrong, something is interfering, or if the trinket is just busted. Thanks, looking forward to hearing other people's experiences with this trinket.
