This is me genuinely asking as I can’t think of any reasonable answer as to why it’s not already a thing! First time posting on here, but are developers of the game also on this subreddit or does anyone know those that work on it?
Modern Warfare is a finished game now so should really be treated as such, with all features and game modes left optional to those that still play.
This could also apply to Realism game modes. Adding that as a Quick Play menu alongside Core and Hardcore.
Oh and add Rust to the STS playlist, renaming it to Shoot The Rusty Ship!
Please, please, please, please, please!
Ships are huge because you have an upper limit on the amount of ships you can have at any give time and that limit is the human mutant component - Navigators and Astropaths, (even trained crewmen to a much lesser extent). You can't just breed capable navigators on a whim, even though this is literally the job of the Navigator houses. (you'd probably get expelled if you ever used a condom). Astropaths are a bit more common yes, but used everywhere when it comes to intergalactic communications.
If you have an upper limit that is hard to breach AND travel can be dangerous and unreliable to a noticeable extent... Well there is only one way to grow your shipping capacity and naval projection and that is to build big.
You want your limited number of warp capable ships to be big, self sufficient and very, very capable.
System ships like monitors don't count.
Tl;dr If the IoM did not have a hard navy cap because of Navigators and Astropaths, we would see a far different Imperial Navy in terms of ship types and ship sizes.
Seriously, every 15-20 seconds the song stops for 5 seconds while Eivor shouts and then the song STARTS FROM BEGINNING.
On a 2-3 minute ride and I have heard the same 10-15 seconds of the song 10 times.
