We stand in solidarity with Jackie Cox and add our voices to her call for the Tamron Hall Show to cancel Sherry Pie's appearance. Abusers should not be platformed. Sherry Pie should not be given a redemption storyline and allowed to return to the public eye after her horrific manipulations of her victims.
If you don't remember the details, Sherry Pie didn't just catfish these men. She manipulated them into performing sexual acts on camera in front of her under the false pretenses of it being an audition tape. She endangered their bodies by convincing them to take anabolic steroids under the belief they would be cast in a major television show as the lead. She encouraged them to turn down actual paying acting jobs in order to continue recieving nonconsensual fetish material from her victims. A person who has such a torrid history of abusing any modicum of power they have to nonconsensually satisfy their sexual desires should not be allowed further access to positions of power.
If I may speak frankly, the moderation team doesn't want to post this thread. We dont want to give any air to this person. We don't want her to have a platform here. But we understand some users will need a space to process this information with other members of our community, so we offer this thread.
Bitterly, we are anticipating users arguing that we should forgive her. Let me be clear, that sentiment is not welcome here. If Sherry Pie sees any success in returning to the public eye after this interview, we will not be welcoming posts about her career in the future.
We will post a Live thread to process the interview tomorrow as a community and will be tightly monitoring comments in that thread and this one. If you see victim-blaming, report it. If you see people making jokes about this, report it. Sexual assault and emotional abuse are serious issues and we expect them to be discussed with the gravity this situation demands.
#Reminder: Do not doxx people. Do not doxx Sherry Pie or their victims. Do not post their real names, addresses, or social media accounts. This includes reddit usernames you suspect are astroturfing support for Sherry -- do not share those usernames; just report them to the mods. Do not send hate or dea... keep reading on reddit ➡
In season 7 episode 5, Lorelai tells Christopher that he isn’t like Sherry, because Sherry abandoned her child as an adult, whereas Christopher did it when he was young.... but he had 20+ years to change that? The bar is so low for this man honestly
Anyway, Christopher sucks
i just started watching season 11 and i'm really annoyed at manny. i get that he's not over sherry yet but it was so immature of him to break luke and sherry up despite knowing luke and sherry make each other happy. and the way gloria cheered as they found out his scheme working out was just so incredibly annoying. what happened to the loving warm colombian duo of the first seasons? who are these conniving heartless people?
and dont get me started on gloria's attitude in this episode (the last christmas) she was so cruel towards luke and claire. not to mention betraying phil. idk what the writers were thinking with these narratives it all seems so out of character.
The two guys that took over Umbrella at Arklay, thier kids end up being the ones saving the world with a vaccine. I don't know how I never thought about it like that.
The whole love triangle with Charlotte just felt forced. Like the producers knew that they had to wrap up the show and introduced her just so Frasier would move to Chicago. She never felt right for him. I feel frasier should have ended up with Claire. After that episode where Fraiser analyzes why he dumped Claire, he should have gone back and begged her to take him. Claire forgiving him and taking him back could have been the main plot for season 9. Season 10, they could have explored the family dynamic further now that both niles and frasier are in a long term relationship.
I also personally feel that they should have introduced Sherry back in season 10. Sherry realizes that she couldn’t forget Martin after all these years and decides that she is ready for marriage again. Season 10 could have had hilarious episodes of Sherry trying to forge a relationship with Claire, Daphne, Niles and Frasier. Claire horror stricken by Sherry’s bawdiness. I couldn’t stand Ronee and didn’t like Martin and Ronee together.
Could have ended frasier with season 10 without creating all these forced episodes just to wrap up the show in season 11.
I am wanting to familiarize myself with sherry and port to be able to pick it out better when I have scotch aged in those types of barrels. Are there any recommendations for brands and bottles that aren't too hard to find in the US?
So I hate Manny, he’s by far my least favourite character. He only get worse as the seasons progress. I’m on my second watch through and I never noticed last time. But on season 10 episode 12 Manny makes out with a librarian while he’s in a relationship with Sherry. But then later on in the show he falls out with Luke after Luke and Sherry kiss? It kind of just makes me hate the character even more!
On the podcast today Shallon said that Sherry Argov, the author of Why Men Love Bitches, got really pissed recently and reported Shallon for copyright violation and tried to get some of her content taken down, all because Shallon read an excerpt from her book on one of her podcast episodes.
Does anyone else think that this is messed up? I literally purchased a brand new copy of that book BECAUSE of Shallon and that excerpt that she read. Had I just seen that book sitting in a Barnes and Noble or something without any context, there is absolutely no way I would've even picked it up to read the jacket blurb because I would've already dismissed it as vacuous the second I saw the title and cover. (And what a shame that would've been because it contains so much wisdom!)
Anyway, just wanted to show some support for Shallon. I know I'm probably wayyy more miffed about this than she is right now, but still...it must sting to talk about something so highly only for that thing's creator to get on you so needlessly like this--especially when Shallon's actions only serve to benefit Argov, and resurrect interest in a TWENTY YEAR OLD book.
If I had authored a book and Shallon not only promoted it, but called it a freaking BIBLE and incited her entire following to go buy it because of its life-changing content, I would OD on gratitude and satisfaction.
I play Alice Kwan on Freeform’s Good Trouble and I've been on Claws, I Love Dick, etc. My die-hard Lakers lovin' rapper character Lil’ Tasty went viral a few years back and nothing's been the same! I also do cool voiceover stuff, most recently a role in The Tiger’s Apprentice starring Sandra Oh and Henry Golding. I’m also developing some passion projects, including a workplace comedy inspired by my time as a host for AMP Radio in LA. Ask me anything!
I mean, I think upon rewatching we can all agree that both Gilmores are not really as accepting of others as they like to think themselves...but Lorelai repeatedly bringing up how the color at the baby shower should be pink is really annoying me while watching this episode. “Isn’t it supposed to be piiink? You know for a girl?” Dude she can do whatever she wants.
Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread (I can't tell you how life-changing it's been) so I hope I'm not breaking any unspoken etiquette by posting. I just wanted to share an observation I made when I was thinking (obsessing) about all this stuff again yesterday.
The FDS approach to dating/love can be applied to every one of Jane Austen's stories. It fits perfectly. And she was writing over 200 years ago.
Take Pride and Prejudice, Austen's most popular book. Lizzie Bennett is undoubtedly a high value woman. She is from a relatively poor family, and she lacks many of the accomplishments that men (and other women) of the time judged women of her age by. She cheerfully admits that she is skilled at neither music nor painting nor embroidery, and her family connections are not high society ones. But all the same, she knows her own worth. It doesn't matter that she doesn't measure up to societal standards for women, because she measures up to her own. She has a quick wit and a keen sense of honour, she reads voraciously, and she has a warm and affectionate heart for anyone deserving of it.
Neither does she suffer fools (scrotes) lightly. In the early scenes with Mr. Collins (AKA Scrote Supreme) she is the EPITOME of the Dumb Fox. She roasts the rude, patronising little man; right to his face! And she manages that without ever being the slightest bit impolite or indiscreet. Then, speaking of knowing her own worth, she refuses to bow to the INTENSE financial and familial pressure put on her to marry him (he will inherit her family home once her ageing father is dead.) It's worth taking a minute to really appreciate the magnitude of this. The man could turn her and all her other female family members out into the street just a few years from now, but she still finds the strength to say no. Some people have called her selfish for this (because of course they have 🙄) but they're wrong - she's strong. She understands that a match with Collins would be physically and intellectually degrading for her, that it would destroy her life and wellbeing even if it saved her and her family from financial ruin. So what does she do, ladies? She refuses to be a martyr. She refuses to believe that her mother and society know better than what she knows, viscerally, in her bones. She rejects him.
And where does Darcy fit into all of this, you may ask - doesn't he famously insult Lizzie the very first time they meet?? (Not to her face, but still.) If Jane Austen is a FDS-er, why oh W... keep reading on reddit ➡
It bothers me when Lorelai meets Sherry and Sherry makes a big point to say that they may have never met and probably don’t have to again but she intends to be involved with Rory. And then Chris justifies it by saying he never got to meet Max and they were engaged so Lorelai can’t be upset. But he isn’t a very present or involved parent so why should Lorelai’s relationships need to meet him when he’s only around a couple times of the year BY CHOICE?
i don’t really like her and i tried to but idk. She’s telling Lorelai about how Chris talks to her bump every night when she knows he wasn’t with her during hers. And then there’s the being all nice and all but then when they went to Lorelai’s house, she’s all “we don’t have to ever get to know each other or be friends” and i just found that weird.
Today I feel grief and rage
Innocent immigrants working minimum wage
Just lost their lives because their skin colours beige.
Let me start from the very first page
I’ve always felt foreign, if I’m being candid
So aware growing up that my eyes were slanted
Kids flipping me off and I didn’t understand it.
The old me use to let the hatred slide
Now I’m filled with Asian pride
I’m so sick of holding the pain inside
What has this world come to? All this talk about kung flu
Now my people are getting killed with guns too?
It breaks my heart that we’re moving in reverse
I remember my mom use to work hard to put me first, with 5 dollars in her purse
It hurts that it could have been her in a hearse.
Asian women, we’re taught to mind our own business. What kind of country is this?
We’re getting murdered by white terrorist with assistance from the fucked up system.
These were daughters, wives, mothers and sisters.
The American dream turned into a nightmare. I’m losing sleep getting white hairs
Is my grandpa going to get assaulted right there?
Let’s face it. We watch the news and energy is just wasted. Four years with a leader who’s xenophobic and racist.
And now we’re back to basics.
I can’t help but shed tears on tears, for years my ancestors proved that we belong here.
2021 we’re still living with these strong fears.
I mean this is bringing us back, to the exclusion act.
These are just the facts. My community is under attack.
So stop ignoring these crimes and playing pretend
And check in on your Asian family and friends.
Let’s have each others backs and put this hate to an end.
$50 a bottle and they have some you can sample first. I tried it and took 2 bottles home, the flavor is classic American prairie but a little sweeter and with a sherry finish that lingers nicely.
