Please help me find this sheet music, Music Reddit.

Ever since I was little, I have loved the movie, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It's about an old man and a young lady. This mans toy store, is magic. So magic. But... As all do, he dies, and the magic begins to fade. The walls lose colour and the toys do too. The young lady does not believe she can bring it back, but through her love for the store and the loving memories of our old man, Magorium, she does.

The score is beautiful.

Before he dies, there is a scene with the score called 'The Flight of Magorium,' I hope the clip sparks your heart, and I hope you can find sheet music for this score, because I can not.

Reddit. This reminds me of my grandad. This reminds me of my childhood, and even though I can't play a lick of piano or anything besides a snare drum or a kazoo... I want this music. I want to save it. I want it at my wedding, or at any major event in my life. I want it as my funeral song. Just playing it to upload the link literally made tears fall, and I had to seek out my mum to give her a big cuddle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoBLFjCA-XI The scene. Please watch it and share my compassion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyC0YP_okQM Clear score, no dialogue from Magorium, no paper noise. Please, please find this.

To try and spark this compassion still... Here are a few quotes from this movie.

"When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written, "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words."

β€œYou see these shoes? I found them in a little shop in Tuscany and fell in love with them so entirely I bought enough to last my whole life!” β€œThese are my last pair.”

"Life is an occasion. Rise to it."

Looking for sheet music music, jazz in particular.

Just as the title says im look for a good place to find sheet music for bass lines and maybe guitar parts as well. I find alot of piano and vocal sheet music but never any bass sheet music. Im looking for something cheap ( I really dont see the need in buying complete orchestra parts for just a bass line). So if you fellow bass players have any suggesting that would be great!! Cheers!

While here I might as well mention that I'm actually looking for this song [Airmail special] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVWYmMMISQA) for a show coming up. (It would probably take me a life time to learn this song by ear). Thanks for all the help!!!

[OFFER] Music transcription. I’ll write sheet music/guitar tab for any song (from $5)

I’m a multi-instrumentalist with loads of free time on my hands. If there’s any music you want to learn but can’t find the sheet music music or guitar tab (or even if it’s a song you wrote yourself) I can learn it by ear and write it out for you.

I work in guitarpro and sibelius so I can offer you the project files as well as an ordinary PDF. If you want sheet music transferred to guitar tab or guitar tab transferred to a guitarpro file I can do that for you. If you want multiple instruments transcribed for one song I can do that as well, I’ve done many full arrangements for people.

Here are my estimated prices per minute of music per instrument:

$5 for under 1 minute of music

$10 for 1-3 minutes

$15 for 5 minutes

Send me a DM with a link to your music and I’ll be able to tell you how much it’ll cost.

The r/piano 2013 Ultimate Christmas Sheet Music Collection

UPDATE: PLEASE REFER TO THE NEWER 2014 ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS SHEET MUSIC COLLECTION FOR MORE SELECTIONS AND FIXED LINKS!

Hey everyone, OnaZ and I realized that we should have a post like last year's for gathering a whole bunch of Christmas/Holiday/Wintry piano sheet music together in one place.

I'm too busy to scour the interwebs again this year for music, so this is mostly a copy & paste from last year's 2012 Ultimate Christmas Music Collection post, just with some cleaning up and fixing broken links.

We've got beginner to intermediate to advanced; traditional, contemporary, holiday classics, pop, jazz, and even classical. Most of it's free, but there are a few $2-$5 sheets that are worth it as well. Hopefully there's something for everyone here to learn over the holidays for your own enjoyment, for impressing family & friends, and for sharing with the /r/piano community!

Please post any other favourite arrangements you know of in the comments -- This is a list-in-progress!

Playing with sheet music

I recently began teaching myself how to play piano. I've had years of exposure to sheet music (musical theatre) and I know how to read music (albeit slowly) and play out my melody lines. I also come from a background of guitar, where I mastered chords but never really got the hang of scales.

My knowledge of chords and basic music theory translated pretty quickly to piano chords and I think I've got the hang of the whole chord thing, and for the most part, I can play songs that I know from guitar on the piano and it sounds reasonably good (I haven't quite figured out the tempo and stuff either).

At any rate, I feel like I need to get the hang of playing actual notes rather than straight-up chords, and I have some fake books and easy piano books of Disney and some of my favorite artists that I've been messing around with. It's really, really slow.

I guess my question is this: is it just a matter of repetition and practice, or is there a technique to picking up sheet music on piano that can make my life easier?

tl;dr: best way to learn to read sheet music and play it on the piano.

I made a game that teaches piano without sheet music

Hi all!

The game is called RealKeys, and it guides you through learning songs section by section, hand by hand at your own pace. You can use your midi keyboard. There aren't many lessons yet, but I can easily make them from midi files, so please make requests!

I'd love to hear feedback from any beginners who don't use sheet music! Could this be useful for you? Does it work well? What would you like to learn?

Also, the astute among you may realise I've announced RealKeys before the full redesign, so if you saw it before I'd be curious to hear what you think of the change!

ISO Article Critiquing American Math Education, Comparing it to Teaching Music Purely Through Writing Sheet-music

About ten years ago, somewhere online I stumbled across a great article written by a mathematician or maybe a math teacher fiercely criticizing the state of primary- and secondary-school math education in the U.S. As part of the critique, he says that the way we currently teach math would be akin to training children rigorously from Kindergarten on how to properly write sheet music, and then, if they excel at this course of study well into college, they are finally allowed to begin playing a musical instrument.

I've searched for it off and on in recent years and haven't been able to find it; I would really like to. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find this article? If you have also read it and can remember anything else about it, that could help my search, too.

The document I read was a PDF, maybe about 10 - 20 pages long, and I don't recall what publication the article came from. I don't even know if it was a scholarly or mainstream publication. It's also possible it was an unpublished article, although that doesn't feel right to me.

I am a harp teacher and have a student who is interested in New Age music (in addition to interests in Wiccan music and renaissance music). I am looking primarily for harpists who have sheet music/music books of new age harp music or something similar that I could adapt to harp. Also, if there’s any new age harpists you’d recommend for me to check out, audio links are definitely welcome too. I’m already familiar with Andreas Vollenweider, he’s great!

The r/piano 2014 Ultimate Christmas Sheet Music Collection... and Piano Jam #27

Hello everyone!

The holiday season is upon us, and so it's time once again to share all that great holiday music. I'm short on free time, so this is just a direct copypasta of the 2013 Ultimate Christmas Sheet Music Collection, which itself was mostly a copy of the 2012 one :). So why copy it all into a new post here instead of just linking to last year's? Well, this will allow you to add comments (last year's post is too old) and allow you to suggest new pieces that I can add to this new list.

As for the Piano Jam, again since I don't have time to select new pieces, THIS will constitute our Piano Jam #27 -- any piece below is fair game, as well as any of the 2-month pieces still in progress from the Piano Jam #26 - November (see that post if you're unsure of what the Piano Jam is all about).

So let's get to it... We've got all sorts of holiday music: beginner to intermediate to advanced; traditional, contemporary, holiday classics, pop, jazz, and even classical.

The List:

Traditional - Beginner, some intermediate
