Best shampoo and conditioner for oily scalp and dry ends

I’ve searched long and hard to try and find the best shampoo and conditioner for combo hair but I can’t seem to get a good answer so here I am . My scalp gets super greasy a day after I wash my hair and then my ends get all dry and frizzy , my hair is long and medium in thickness I would say , I mean it looks thin after a couple days but it’s because of the grease so maybe something that can add volume too ? My hair also curls /waves in some parts and straight in others πŸ˜‚ What shampoo and conditioner do y’all recommend please I’m struggling over here 😭 I also would like something that smells good and lasts but not like tea tree or peppermint or minty at all if that’s possible . thank you for time and helping

Shampoo for oily scalp and dry hair ends

I have split ends and dry hair while the scalp is oily, itchy with mild dandruff. I use a very mild shampoo which checks the hairfall but doesn't help the getting rid of buildup. Looking for a shampoo/hair soap that can help.

Recommendation of shampoo for oily scalp/dry ends?

Hi, everybody! I currently use Big and Hair Necessities as shampoo/conditioner. I wash my hair two times a week, which has been fine. After washing and drying my hair, I find that near my hairline, there's been dandruff and/or flecks of dry skin. I'm starting to wonder if Big has become too drying for my scalp. Don't get me wrong, my roots look great and shiny after using Big, but I'm starting to think I should alternate Big with another shampoo that isn't as harsh, you know? Does anybody have any recommendations? ☺️ Appreciate the help!

Hair related Q! for those who gets oily scalps 2 days after showering, what do you do/use to help it? beyond dry shampoo!

I find my scalp gets greasy always 2 days after showering! it’ll get greasy even if i just do shampoo + conditioner and no other products in my hair. i try to wash my hair every 3-4 days now to help curb the oil, it’s helping a bit but i still find my scalp gets pretty greasy. using a hair oil is out of the question for me now.

oddly enough it’s only my scalp that gets greasy, my actual strands (i have long hair) stays nice and soft for the most part.

what do you do/use beyond dry shampoo?

I wash my hair in the evenings. I use clarifying shampoo a few times a week, I use all natural super gentle shampoo no parafins, etc, I eat healthy and dont use product on my hair, or even blow dry. Every morning I have greasy scalp. I am white with fine straight hair. Is this just how it is for me?

Title says it all really. I try and take on all the advice I can online, in regards to my hair type. I've always been this way and nothing works.

Any advice for what I can do next would be appreciated xx

Shampoos targeted towards dry hair work better for me than those for oily scalps/ hair.

Has anyone else found this? Any clarifying shampoos, shampoos for volume, oily and greasy hair etc only strips my hair and I think produce more oil. Usually start to get greasy by the end of the day after a morning wash.

When I use shampoos that are moisturizing, nourishing, etc, I can actually go about 2 days between washes!!

If you haven’t, I suggest trying a more rich shampoo as it might help you too :)

need to use shampoo for a scalp condition, but it really dries my hair out

I have seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff and in order for me to manage my situation I have to use a ketoconazole shampoo. Problem is, it's just too strong and makes my hair very dry, frizzy and lifeless looking, overall looks really bad.

Is there anything I can do about this? I need to use the shampoo to manage my condition, but i really don't want my hair to look like a mess.

Asian shampoos for dry/flaky scalp?

Hey all! Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit to post this in. I am Asian and struggle with a dry flaky scalp sometimes. I find I get flare-ups during winter or in dryer air. Do you guys have any shampoos you’d recommend? I’ve used head & shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo before (I’m wondering if I should get shampoo for Asian hair). Didn’t seem to do much for me. I try to clarify my hair once every two weeks sometimes with apple cider vinegar or a clarifying shampoo. I try to not wash my hair every day as well and try to use natural products without sulfates/parabens/etc.

I’m also wondering if it’s not just dandruff if it’s something else? Sorry I know nothing about hair/scalp issues besides dandruff and eczema which I’ve had when I was a baby but not on my scalp at least.

Any suggestions are welcome, sorry this was long/tmi haha. Thank you!

Best shampoo, conditioner and leave-in for fine but very dense, color treated hair that gets oily at the scalp and more dry everywhere else?

So I’m a licensed esthetician, went to beauty school for skin, not hair. I’m solid on skin but I’m pretty clueless with hair! But because of my license, I am able to shop at professional stores like Salon centric for cheap. So basically my budget is nonexistent because I can get a $40 shampoo for like half off!

I do not heat style ever, and my hair is just below my chin. I’m a natural blonde and use level ten peroxide and a level 5 auburn color to color my hair every 6-10 weeks, so my hair is now level 4/5 from level 8. My hair is slightly wavy.

My biggest issues are dryness at the ends and new growth that mimics flyaways. I get a bit oily after 4 or 5 days of no washing at my scalp. My individual strand are quite fine, but I have a LOT of hair. I’m just looking for holy grail products! I do not use any styling products besides leave in.

I’ve tried cheap stuff like Garnier or L’OrΓ©al and it’s just not cutting it. I really like β€œIt’s a Ten” miracle leave in treatment. I’m just really not sure what would work best for me, being oilier at the scalp and more dry at the ends. (And yes I do focus on my scalp when I was rather than my ends).

I think I’m allergic to dry shampoo, because my scalp becomes itchy and a little inflamed after using it. Any alternative options for sensitive scalp? Thank you!

(I deep-condition my hair with an oil mix at least twice a week, leaving it on overnight or wrapped up for a few hours to make sure my hair/scalp is getting enough moisture and nutrients. Use heat at 340Β°F and wash hair every 2-3 days (depending on activity) but generally becomes greasy by day 3 no matter what. I’d like to find a dry shampoo that lasts and doesn’t make my scalp hurt.)

Good shampoos for a dry scalp, but oily hair?

So, basically what the title says. All my life, my hair has been super oily and it hasn't ever really been a problem until now. I started bleaching and dyeing my hair about 3 years ago and have stopped doing that about 6 months ago. As a result, I've been using sulfate-free, natural shampoos and washing my hair every other day to save my hair from losing it color and to take care of it a bit more. Now, my hair acts as if it needs to be washed everyday because it's just so oily. I can see it weighing down my bangs every morning and dry shampoo has stopped helping this problem at all. It's not a big deal to wash it everyday, but to work with my scalp and my oily hair, I use 2 different shampoos and mix them together. Collectively, for both, I spend $18 every few months, but even this routine is starting to not work anymore. Does anyone have a similar experience/ and good shampoos?

Shampoo For Thin and Dry Hair, Super Oily Scalp

I would love some shampoo advice! My hair looks greasy at my scalp an hour after washing it. Dry shampoo does nothing to my hair. I have very long, thin and fine blonde hair. The bottoms are always super dry even right after a cut. I have never dyed it. I sleep with a satin pillowcase. I scrub shampoo well into my scalp and only put conditioner on the bottom. I do deep condition it once a week or every other week knowing it will look like a super greaseball the following day. I also have tried going a few days between washing it for a prolonged amount of time and it still just looks like a greaseball after a few months of that.

I have tried so many shampoos! I'm super discouraged. I really don't want to spend more than $20. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Product Help!!!! Salon color treated (black), very dry scalp with dandruff, fine, looking for as natural shampoo/conditioner as I can get.

Hi friends, after scouring the Internet I seemingly CANNOT find a product I’m looking for. I’ve already tried all the usual remedies for dandruff and none have worked (Head & Shoulders, Neutrogena T/Sal, Neutrogena Coal Tar, Niorzal) and at this point I figured maybe I should give all natural a shot since those haven’t worked and I can’t really use them anymore because my hair is now dyed. Trying to find a shampoo/conditioner combo with no sulfates, Parabens, bad alcohols, dyes and preferably no artificial fragrances. I’m convinced my scalp issue was brought on by this stupid Florida water...when I lived in PA I never once had this issue! Ugh. Well, if you know of anything, let a girl know.

Shampoo for dry scalp that doesn't make the hair greasy/oily

Can you reccommend me shampoos that worked for dry scalp, but it didn't make your hair so oily you had to wash your hair every two days?

My scalp is fine if I use shampoos which have oil in them but it makes my hair oily really fast. But if I use gel based shampoo/shampoo for normal hair it dries out my scalp a lot and it itches.
