Sexy Space Babes: Chapter Seventeen

First / Previous / Next

The colonel seemed almost resigned to her position, remaining eerily silent as Jason stepped over her, though he heard what might have been a chuff of amusement as the MCU ground to a sudden halt, forcing him to grab a nearby console to stabilize himself.

As he was cursing the design of the vehicle, he belatedly noticed the convenient handrail attached to the ceiling, presumably put in place to allow the crew to move about a bouncing vehicle without being thrown all about the place like he was. Grumbling, he grabbed the bar and made his way to the front compartment.

“What?” He asked without preamble as he stuck his head inside, making sure to grab the bar above the door as he did.

God, that’s a lot of buttons, he noted as he took in the bay of controls opposite the two driver’s seats.

“As I said, we’ve got a problem,” Raisha said worriedly, inclining her head towards one of the many nearby screens. The vehicle didn’t have a windshield, instead relying on it’s exterior cameras to give vision to the driver. Which Jason only noted in passing, most of his attention being taken up by the exo parked menacingly on the road ahead of them.

The hunchbacked mecha was an imposing sight, the rotary barrel on the suit’s forearm spinning idly as it aimed in their direction. Raisha flipped a switch, and suddenly the compartment was filled with sound.

“-repeat,” an entirely calm feminine voice filtered through the compartment’s speakers. “The occupants of the stolen Interior property are to lay down their weapons, step out of the vehicle and release any captured personnel. You have sixty seconds to comply.”

“That’s generous.” Jason glanced at Raisha. “This thing got any weapons?”

“No.”

He figured as much.

“Can we ram her?”

“What!? No!” the woman said, sounding scandalized by the very idea. “It’s a command unit, not a Hover-Racer. She’d just dodge and then light us up.”

“Any chance the armor’s too tough for her to handle?”

She shook her head glumly. “That’s a Vertex-repeater on her arm. The only reason she hasn’t sliced us up like a winter Turox already is that she’s hoping to keep the unit operational while also getting the colonel back.”

That those hopes wouldn’t hold the pilot back f

Going Seventeen 2020, the end of an era

Every week on Monday, roughly a few minutes or hours after 10:10 KST, Carats have plagued this subreddit with posts about Going Seventeen.

We end the era of GoSe 2020 with Mingyu’s final magazine shoot where the members take their self-producing concept to not only their songs, their choreography, their music videos, their merch, but also in creating their own magazine where the members act as their own stylists, videographers, photographers, editors, interviewers, hair stylists, DJs and models.

Since June 5, 2017, Going Seventeen has posted their videos on a Monday, 10:10 pm for carats to enjoy in reference to Hoshi’s iconic 10:10 eyes. Monday because Seventeen have said they want to give energy to carats to start the week. However, Pledis has announced that Going Seventeen will be taking a break for 5 weeks and instead of being posted on a Monday on 10:10 pm, theyll upload on Wednesday, 9 pm.

It sounds dramatic, but its an end of an era. No more 10:10 references, no more my least favorite day of the week is Tuesday jokes. GoSe 2021 is changing and it shows how inevitable change is in our lives.

In the end, we thank all the GoSe staff and the members for creating top tier content. It has been a joy seeing the evolution of this behind the scenes content that struggled to get 1 million views in months into a full blown variety show that regularly trends every week in South Korea and gains 1 million views within 24-48 hours consistently.

There will be a change, but we hope for a bigger and better GoSe 2021. Thank you and see ya’ll on March 3, 2021.

Funny stories from seventeen's daily life that proves they're living in a sitcom

I just read that one time seventeen closed the faucet too tightly in order to save water, but because it was winter it exploded and flooded their dorm. So they evacuated to a hotel, but they really like it because it reminds them of being on tour.

Another one is the iconic DK posting a funny pic of Jeonghan at the gym for his birthday and jeonghan's revenge and ending with DK apologizing on his knees in the middle of a concert hall.

And the most recent one from seungkwan's bday vlive when he and DK fight during a trip to jeju and jeonghan stopped them in the middle of their fight to take a selfie and they complied.

These stories absolutely light up my day. Please share your favorite funny stories about seventeen that lives in your mind rent free.

Edit : I want to add more that I just remembered

Woozi telling the story when he woke up to DK and joshua having a rap battle in the living room (and the video cuts into the rapping in another car)

No, SEVENTEEN is NOT popular because of BH

Please take my words with a grain of salt. I’m not trying to generalise anyone so if you feel offended please know that I’m not talking about you. I’m talking about the people who keep on saying this stuff.

Honestly as a carat I’m tired. Tired of having to hear that seventeen wouldn’t have achieved stuff if it weren’t for BH. That seventeen should be thankful to be in BH. That all their success is from bighit. That they are only popular because of BH.

Well let me tell you something. Seventeen came from a small company and struggled a lot. From having to use earphones as earpieces to having to pay for their own meal. They didn’t have a lot of fans at that time but they slowly gained more. They debuted with adore you and the album 17 Carat. The album itself selled a lot for a rookie group. Around 100.000 sales. Yes they had quite a lot of fans and we’re pretty popular at that time. They weren’t under BH at that time.

They then released other albums (boys be, which has mansae) which would sell more than their debut until they had their love& letter album which selled around 200.000. Also with their hit song very nice. This also included pretty u which gave them their first win. Later on they released their “going seventeen” album which had around 300.000 album sales. This was all around one year after debut so they were practically still a rookie group.

Fast forward to 2017 where they released another two hit songs that gave them a lot of recognition. It was the year of their hit songs DWC and CLAP. These songs gave them a huge international boost together with gp recognition. Both album (al1, teen age) selling in the 300.000 and teen age almost selling 400.000. this was one of their peaks.

Fast forward to 2018, they released both directors cut and ymmd(you Made My Day). Directors cut selling only 200.000 but it had the golden song thanks which was a song dedicated to carats. As for ymmd, it almost sold half a million! With the title track oh my! Which was successful. They already had a stable fanbase at this time and we’re really successful and well known. They also released getting closer which was part of the ymmdawn album. Also known as having one of the hardest fanchants

2019-

They released ymmd(you Made My Dawn) HIT and an ode. Ymmd was their sixth mini album and first album to sell over half a million! With “home” as their title track and it had “good to me” which is a fan’s favourite. HIT was their digital single that did pretty well a

Seventeen is the third bestselling kpop artist in history

I am here to gush about Seventeen after finding out today that they are now the third bestselling kpop artist in history with 6.4M sales. In 2019, they were seventh with 3.4M sales. This means they sold around 3M albums in 2020.

I used to be bothered by people belittling their achievements just because they’re not garnering the same numbers in terms of music video views as other groups, even rookies. But I’m happy to say that this is no longer a concern of mine. I like to think of Seventeen as an anomaly sometimes. Of course, I mean it in a positive way hahaha. They have a fanbase that may not be loud, but is definitely loyal and supportive of their every endeavour. They’re not raking in hundreds of millions of views for mvs, but they’re selling millions of copies of albums and they used to sell out concert venues pre-covid. They are thriving not only in the Korean entertainment industry but also in Japan, China, and other SEA countries as a 13-member boy group that has stayed together for almost 6 years. They have proven their excellence as a self-producing group and have created their mark in the industry as one of the best performers. With the success of Going Seventeen, they have also shown that they are versatile entertainers. Seventeen’s success today is definitely a result of their slow and steady growth. To me, Seventeen is an anomaly because whenever we think we have them figured out, they come at us with something unexpected but still very much them. Like the boys said, Seventeen’s brand is Seventeen, and that is something we can never create an exact description of.

With Seventeen being obviously pushed into the Western market this year, my only hope is that Western fans know that our 13 boys’ accomplishments in Asia give Carats a lot of pride. They may be relatively new to promoting there, but they have already established a solid fanbase in the West.

That said, I look forward to welcoming into Caratland all the new fans that will discover our crazy, talented, and humble 13 boys. And to those who have yet to know them, I suggest watching their latest performance of Home;Run. This is just one of their many jaw dropping performances!

edit: Just want to clarify that I was referring to their Korean sales. I also took the title from my source for the stats.

She was seventeen years old, newly married and her body was found lying across an abandoned car, in a ravine

Maureen Brubaker Farley was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She lived with her parents and her six younger siblings, whom she used to babysit. She had two sisters and four brothers. In 1971, at seventeen, she got married to David Farley and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Her husband got into some trouble and had to spend time in Anamosa correctional facility. Maureen wanted to be close to him so she could visit him and so she rented a room. She also got a waitressing position at Weida’s Restaurant.

On Friday 17 September 1971, she borrowed some money to buy a pack of cigarettes.

On Monday, 20 September, when she didn’t arrive for her work her employer reported her missing.

Police found the partial pack of cigarettes in Maureen’s room and her car parked nearby, its tank full.

The Sleeping Lady

On Friday, 24 September, two young hunters, 15-year-old Kevin Coppess and 14-year-old Danny Lineweaver got their rifles to go hunting.

Just after 5 pm and just having crossed the river heading for Ely Road, Kevin and Danny saw a junk car in the ravine.

Lying across the trunk, with one leg propped up and the body lying against the rear window on its back, they saw what they thought was a lady sleeping. The lady wore clothes but no shoes. Kevin and Danny trying not to disturb her continued down the road to hunt. After eventually approaching Highway 30 and not being able to hunt too close to the highway, they turned back.

Upon approaching the car for the second time, they saw the woman in the same position they had seen her before. So they decided to take a closer look and that’s when they noticed the discoloration of her skin.

Frightened they started running towards a nearby tavern but then they realized they were holding guns that could get them into trouble, and so they run to Danny’s house instead and told everything they saw to his mother Violet Fowler. Violet didn’t believe them and asked the boys to take her to the body. After seeing the body for herself, they went to a nearby farm and telephoned the police.

The investigation

The body belonged to Maureen. The coroner established that she died from a ‘massive blow’ to the side (or the back, sources differ) of her head. Her autopsy showed no signs of alcohol in her blood. She had been dead between 48-96 hours. There was no evidence of defense wounds which led police to believe that she probably died from a surprise attack.

Her feet were clean. Officials theorized that she was

What are some of the different things Japanese or Chinese Carats focus on or always emphasise when talking about Seventeen?

EDIT: I’ve realised this after I posted it so I can’t edit my title. But even if you’re not a c carat or a j carat, do share your anecdotes too. It’s always fun to discuss them here.

Although SVT is the same group and Carat is its fandoms, I feel like different Carats focus on different things and repeat them more.

Like for example, international English-speaking Carats, we have the “Seventeen musical theatre kids of kpop”, “Seventeen world domination” and “Hoshi tiger agenda”. These are all things that I find K-Carats for example don’t repeat as often. Ofc, Hoshi’s tiger agenda is well-known but I feel like it’s more so in the international Kpop like in r/kpopthoughts.

Meanwhile, K-Carats focus more on things like “Professor Boo”, “Seventeen really is a group with high tension” and one of the more famous ones, “banmal-teen” which I think is quite unique to the Korean fandom as it is not usually present in other cultures. Banmal is basically talking to someone older than you in an informal way. For example, not calling someone older than you hyung. Something I found when browsing through K-Carats posts on YouTube and Twitter, was that they found it extremely amusing how everyone, even Dino calls each other so freely with no hyungs or formal speech. Some even made a compilation of it. And there were also some that said Seventeen was one of the harder groups to get their age order right as the members would sometimes use banmal but sometimes not.

As for Chinese Carats, I read a comment that said people see Seventeen as “the group Xu Minghao is in” because of how he keeps on mentioning them. And also the phrase “Minghao is well-loved”(?) because everyone dotes on him.

As for Japanese Carats, I have completely no idea.

In what world is Seventeen not considered a “mainstream” group?

I really don’t get it. I think KPop Reddit will delude themselves into believing that acts like Loona, Stray Kidz, TXT are more mainstream than Seventeen simply because their fans are more prominent in the international forums and on Reddit. It really makes no sense to argue that Seventeen aren’t mainstream when they ... literally ARE??? You don’t just sell 2 million copies in a year as the second best-selling act of year and don’t get considered a mainstream group. I see a lot of people argue that it’s just domestic metrics but their global metrics are perfectly awesome too. #6 for most tweeted KPop act this year and #6 for most streamed KPop artist of all time on Spotify and MelOn - the only names above them on most of these lists are the usual like Twice, BTS, Exo, RV, BP. They also have one of the highest subscriber counts for KPop YouTube channels (I think #7 out of all groups). It really doesn’t make sense to me why people really think they’re not mainstream?? People claiming that they aren’t mainstream doesn’t make them less mainstream and less popular. They’re doing phenomenally well for themselves and better than 95% of other KPop groups. Y’all need to really stop with this “they’re not mainstream” crap because it’s just a blatant lie at this point. And no it’s not just domestic fame, they’re doing really well on the international scene too.

It’s a real dilemma between other KPop stans crucifying certain fandoms for being too in your face (like ARMYs or blinks) while simultaneously making up the most random theories about very popular groups that have less in-your-face fans (like carats).

I’m tired of Seventeen being discredited

I never thought I would rant about something but here I am

There’s a post on UKO that is just plain false. The OP states that SVT isn’t known AT ALL to the Korean GP and the industry in general. Like I feel like you don’t even need to be a Carat to know that’s false cause they wouldn’t be where they are now, they wouldn’t have achieved everything they have if they were that unknown

The only true thing in that entire post is that SVTs recognition isn’t on the same level as 2nd gen groups + BTS and EXO. And for individual members recognition, pledis doesn’t give the members individual activities so it’s not as high as it could be but Seungkwan is definitely up there and people need to stop using those brand rankings as a indicator cause it’s been pointed out before that they aren’t that reliable

Other than those points, everything else is wrong. SVT songs aren’t played on variety/reality shows and dramas? False. Korean youtubers don’t mention them? False. The public hasn’t heard of them? False. They don’t have a hit? Aju Nice says hello👋 NCT is more known to the GP than them? People are still trying that narrative? NCT did great last year, but that doesn’t suddenly make them bigger than SVT. SVT is on the same level as 4th gen groups? No hate to said groups, I like them, but you have got to be kidding me

To the commenters that pointed out everything that was false, THANK YOU! And to the Carats I saw agreeing with the OP, I really hope y’all are new Carats that don’t know much about SVT cause that post wasn’t it

I have been on reddit for a year and it’s ridiculous how often their success was downplayed, but that post really took it to another level

Every time Seventeen perform on American TV it brings some form of bad luck for Trump

This is a shitpost so mods please adjust flairs!

Disclaimer: I’m not trying to make light of the tense political situation in the US, please don’t take it that way, I am very aware of the real world implications of these issues and feel for Americans right now.

Ok low key America is in shambles all the time and so this isn’t new but there are some days that are worse than the others. Somehow they always coincide on the same day as when Seventeen performs on national tv:

James Corden performance happened the same day as trump supporters stormed the capitol building and got shamed by the entire nation.

Kelly Clarkson performance happens the same day that Trump is officially impeached for the second time becoming the first president to ever get impeached twice

What’s funniest is that both these events put Trump and his supporters in hot water and kind of became a reckoning on them. As a liberal-minded carat myself who does not support trump I will not lie when I say that I let out a big huge maniacal laugh when I heard this news (sorry not sorry).

Seventeen has got to be one of the most friendly "senior" idols.

It's so unreal how close SVT members are with some of their juniors! Most groups from their generation tend to make idol friends with other 3rd gen idols, but I swear SVT knows no such bounds. Like I don't see BTS, GOT7 or MonstaX being THIS close with much younger/4th gen idols.

The ones I know of are Eric from TBZ being friends with Mingyu, Wooyoung from ATEEZ being friends with Seungkwan, China Line being close with some WayV members and DID Y'ALL SEE THEM ON I-LAND??? (Feel free to share more in the comments if I missed anyone!)

I guess I've never seen anyone point this out before. But it's insane to think about how legendary Seventeen is, yet how friendly they are. I'm not trying to say other idols are snobs, but the way their juniors would talk about hanging out with them is unlike anything I see with their contemporaries. Seventeen Seungkwan storytelling his relationship with Cravity feels like a whole drama

I remembered a previous post saying how Seventeen is close with their juniors but I didn't expect Seungkwan to share this unknown story with Cravity during his birthday Vlive.

[Encounter with predebut Cravity]

Seungkwan started to storytell about his experience at COEX mall (should be between 2018-2019) and how he lost his card after shopping. He was having a mental shock since he couldn't find his card after searching around. At the same time, he recalled a foreign fan, who looked 2-3 years younger, approaching him and told him that he's a fan (of Seungkwan/Seventeen). The fan also added that he's a Starship trainee. Seungkwan was kinda shy but despite being at a shocked state about his lost card, he cheered on for the fan to hang on and that he'll definitely debut.

It was only until some time ago when he realised that trainee fan was Cravity Allen. Seungkwan's reaction when he realised it was Allen all along is so cute?? Seungkwan said that the fan's face in his memory matched with Allen while he was watching their broadcasted performance a few times. That was when he had the eureka moment that the trainee fan he met at COEX was Allen.

So Seungkwan, who somehow knew Serim's number, contacted him to talk to Allen. He asked Allen why he didn't talk to him or mention about their previous encounter, to which Allen responded that he thought Seungkwan wouldn't remember him. But Seungkwan actually remembers that moment. The COEX encounter was just a short moment, like 1 min and he was fascinated by the development of the story.

[Complimenting Serim]

Seungkwan then proceeded to compliment Serim, saying that although Serim is just 1 year younger, he's very pleasant/friendly and that he's a nice dude, along with Cravity. He was also grateful when Serim told him he likes Seventeen so much since trainee days.

[Being a senior whom juniors can rely on]

There was a time when Seventeen and Cravity were backstage/at the waiting area so Seungkwan asked Hyeongjun whether he's doing fine and if it's tiring. Hyeongjun told him it's not tiring, before saying he does feel a bit tired after Seungkwan went "Eishhh, it's fine to tell me that you're tired." Seungkwan then joked about Hyeongjun being tired already but that was hilarious because Dino somewhat got concerned and told him not to act like that to the Crav

I know everyone is friends and have great chemistry with each other but I mean like actual soulmate besties whose personalities just fit like a puzzle, regardless of the years they spent together

Here's what comes to mind for me:

Seungkwan and Dino (trainee years and constant bickering lmaooo I just can't imagine them apart)

Mingyu and Minghao (their mutual hobbies and understanding of each other is unique to find in a friendship I think)

Jun and Minghao (polar opposites but perhaps that's why I put them on here)

Mingyu and Seungkwan (I feel like they are on the same wavelength, especially when it comes to variety shows, but maybe them being in the same grade in high school played a role in this)

Joshua and Jeonghan (they just are sorry idek how to explain this one)

DK and everyone (ummm yeah this man is everyone's soulmate bc he's just so lovable. lmk if you can think of a specific pairing tho... i considered maybe jeonghan or booseoksoon)

but yeah.. im curious if anyone has any pairings for hoshi, s.coups, etc. or even any other pairing for jun

Please don’t count Seventeen out yet

Excuse me while I let out my feelings here which were intensified by my decision to play All My Love on repeat. Also I didn’t know how to flair this so sorry if it’s wrong.

I’ve been seeing so many people talk about how the third generation’s over and the fourth generation are taking over. GOT7’s recent departure from JYP fueled these discussions more. Honestly, I have nothing against the fourth gen. I also don’t follow any of them closely so I’m pretty neutral when it comes to them.

Still, I can’t help but feel a little sad when I see those kind of posts because of how attached I am to Seventeen. I promise it’s a healthy attachment haha. They’ve brought so much joy into my life and there’s a lot I’m grateful to them and their music for. So it saddens me when people count them out just because their contract’s almost over. I genuinely believe there’s still so much they can offer as a group. They have a little more than a year left in their contracts and I think this is still plenty of time for them to grow and reach even greater heights. Also, they’re just starting their official promotions in the West so they definitely have so much left up their sleeves.

I saw a comment recently where the OP said that they don’t think there will be anyone like Seventeen ever again. I believe this as well. I especially think there won’t be another group that’s as meaningful to me as these boys. We’ll never truly know who they are behind the camera, but everything they’ve shown us so far and all the stories from the people they’ve worked with has at least reassured me that they’re not awful people. So far, they all seem like humble boys who value their art, their team, and their fans. Each one of them are so different and endearing in their own ways, and when together they’re just bursting with passion and power. But what has made them so special to me is how they were able to make me feel like their friend. I really don’t want to think about what will happen next year. I’d rather focus on making the most of the time we have left with them.

All My Love is still playing so I’ll end this by saying that even after Seventeen has said the last say the name, my heart won’t change, even if my love for them has only amounted to this much.

Sorry this was a mess. I just really needed to let out my feelings in a safe place hahaha

The choreography for Fear (Seventeen) is kind of amazing and we should talk about it more

I don't really know how to organize my thoughts on this, I apologize in advance if they end up being a bit all over the place. Disclaimer that I'm not a dancer (I mean I was but I wasn't very good)!

The reason for this post is just that I watched some fancams of Fear (Jeonghan's and Dino's) and the dance practice again, and thought "wow, I don't remember the choreography being this good". And then I wondered why we/I don't really bring it up when talking about choreographies, or ever.

Context for those unfamiliar with Seventeen: Fear was released over a year ago as the title track of An Ode. Hit was a pre-release. The album did well but Fear wasn't very well received, I believe mostly because it was SVT, a group known for their fresh and funky sound, with a dark concept. I don't think I've seen anyone put down or dismiss Fear's choreography as easy, but it was definitely overshadowed by Hit, since Hit's choreography is generally (rightfully) acknowledged as really complex and difficult.

Slightly off topic but there are some amazing reddit posts about Fear - the Fear UKO, one about possible interpretations of its lyrics, one comparing Fear and Fearless

So there are a some things that I've just come to expect from Seventeen's choreographies at this point that I won't really be talking about, like having really nice formations, smooth transitions, synchronization, and using their numbers well, but all of those never fail to impress me either and they all contribute to the overall performance/choreography. Besides that, there's a few things I want to share some thoughts on.

One of the standout things of the choreography is the repeated use of the poison-drinking move. The use of that in itself is so clever, because it's matches the "poison" in the lyrics. But the effect of all of them drinking together is so... eerie? chilling? I also love seeing how the members interpret this action and what their expressions a

SEVENTEEN is the the closest to being a “perfect group” in kpop in my opinion

disclaimer: i want to say that I DO NOT THINK SVT IS PERFECT, however, they are very strong on all the criteria i went over, and they are very well-rounded, are great entertainers, have good line distribution and good chemistry, their visual is well balanced, and their performances are interesting and unique. I DO NOT only look at rap dance and vocal, bc ofc many groups are well rounded

i dont really see a lot of discussion around this and i think svt is often overlooked so i think it might be unpopular but idk

not saying that other groups aren’t great (im a huge multifan lol), there are ofc many great groups out there and kpop is extremely diverse. ive been into kpop since 2008 (not trying to flex just showing you that i actually do kinda know what im saying haha), and in MY opinion, svt is the closest group to being a “perfect” kpop group (im not saying they are perfect). here i present my case haha (its very long)

  1. Vocal: needless to say, svt’s vocal team works very well tgt, their voices compliment each other, i think dk and seungkwan have some of the best techniques out there in terms of vocal, dk’s voice is higher and more powerful, while seungkwan’s voice is warmer and he he has a great vocal range. dk and seungkwan serve well as the foundation of svt’s sound, but thats not all, joshua jeonghan and woozi has very unique voices as well, woozi is great for a lead vocal (i’d argue that he has great potential for main vocal as well if he’s not in svt), joshua’s baritone voice is chef kiss and jeonghan’s unique tone add that texture to their songs. to know more abt their vocal team, listen to habit and you’ll see how heavenly they sound tgt. HOWEVER, thats not all, all members of svt can sing well. while id say vernon is on a weaker end when it comes to singing, his voice is quite unique and he can actually go quite high (but he lacks confident when it comes to singing). i wasnt a fan of the8’s voice in the beginning, but he improved so much that he’s able to produce a solo song. they are also capable of singing live WHILE dancing. also they have voices from all different tones?? like scoups and wonwoo and mingyu on the lower tone, and then you have dk woozi and jun on the higher tone.

  2. Dance: do i even have to say anything here? they’re pretty much known for their dancing. but i still want to touch on this a little. HOSHI DOES NOT GET THE CREDITS HE DESERVE. he’s one of the most versatile dancer and choreographer out there, and i barely ever s

Nu'est: The Pledis group so chaotic even Seventeen's Hoshi is speechless while Vernon and Jun crack up

Nu'est kind-of appreciation post! I keep doing posts about idols and groups I love and highlighting their weirdest bits lmao. Last time I regaled how Q from The Boyz is a vampire squirrel crazy enough to rival Hoshi, and now we're going back to Hoshi, the Horanghae king himself. Have you ever wondered what it'd take for Hoshi himself to be left speechless at the absurdity of someone or something?

Wonder no more:

So Seventeen and Nu'est are labelmates and it's no secret that they trained together and many were supposed to debut together as Tempest. So they're pretty tight and frequently run into each at Pledis. And uh- LINK.

Flash forward to 18:08 to see Hoshi. That's right. In this video, we have:

  • Ren as a tooth cavity. You can see him earlier in the video saying it's a childhood dream of his, and he's been having tooth decay lately, so he wants to inspire you to take care of your teeth. Inspire? More like frighten.
  • Baekho as a sexy chic rotisserie chicken. Those words don't belong together. His makeup is kinda Hunger Games, honestly, but this outfit doesn't make me hungry at all.
  • JR in a dinosaur suit so big Hoshi can't even see him.

Even Hoshi can just laugh awkwardly at the lengths they go. You can also go to 14:21 in the video to Baekho debate over getting coffee with his makeup on, knowing that there are a lot of people upstairs, eventually go anyways, and run into like all of Seventeen. Apparently Vernon keeps cracking up. Baekho gets to congratulate Seventeen on their newest album like that, and Jun asks to take a selfie with him. Meanwhile, Baekho gets just soy milk instead of his treasured coffee, before making his escape to stare blankly in the company staircase.

Aron eventually shows up in the only remotely normal and mobile costume, as Mario (Minhyun wasn't there for this one). You can see the dance practice they perform in costume here. It's pretty fucking hilarious. They're pretty well-known for doing these dance practices in insane costumes, like uh, this one. And this one. Oh, and this one! And another! Plus [Ren's stellar dress-up as a girl to cover Something](https://youtu.be/HVTtCSMdIg

Creative stage designs can be so impactful! (Inspired by Seventeen's Home; Run performance on The Late Late Show)

Seventeen's recent performance of Home; Run on the Late Late Show made me realize how much impact a good set can have on the audience.

Will admit that I was a bit nervous for Seventeen's performance on the LLS, even though I knew that the members would deliver as always! I was mostly worried about the stage/concept being a let down after their stunning cruise ship and MAMA perfs. I was also considering how, in the past, when BTS and other kpop groups performed on western talk and award shows, their stages tend to be more restrictive and simpler than in Asia.

But having Seventeen act as the behind the scenes crew for Corden's show was such a unique idea, I never saw that coming! It's such a smart move, too, as it both gives James a nod and caters towards the Western audiences' preference for story telling. Bravo to the production team behind that performance👏!

I also feel that having a good set has become especially important during Covid. Fans can't go in-person to see their faves perform. They can only watch the idols perform the same songs over and over again for comeback stages and award shows. So coming up with new performance ideas can help to maintain fans' interest over multiple performances. And with majority of performances being pre-recorded, production teams have the chance to get creative with editing.

What has been your favourite kpop performance set design during Covid? [I personally really like BTS' chaotic HOME on Fallon(the turning room gives me serious Nolan Inception vibes) and the city design Seventeen had for their Left and Right Mnet comeback stage intro, but I would love to hear from you]

(Not quite sure which flair to use. Mods, feel free to correct me🙃*)*

Seventeen on "The Late Late Show with James Corden"

Carats... are they finally starting their long-awaited Western promotions? I'm just happy for U.S. carats because this could lead to them opening a WeVerse flagship in the U.S., and we don't have to pay $3843231213 for shipping (༎ຶ⌑༎ຶ). But what are your thoughts? I'm just happy because we may be one step closer to their dream of performing at the BBMAs, which has been one of their goals. However, American interviews have been a big miss for me the past years now, so hopefully it’ll be okay and they get to showcase their charms

Carats reaction seeing Seventeen S.coups game being recognised by a rookie is so cute

Usually it's fans of rookie groups who get excited when their groups get noticed but it's so cute seeing Carats, fans of Seventeen, a senior group getting excited and feeling surprised that S.coup's game is being recognised by rookies after Cravity Wonjin did the move from S.coups Game.

P.s: It hasn't even been 24 hours yet but Wonjin's video is at 200k already. Carats are really something 🤣

Here's the direct timestamp, whereby a Vlive comment told Wonjin to dance. Out of nowhere, he did the S.coup game's move and Jungmo and Allen followed along too. Wonjin then told Allen that it's a dance move that he's into nowadays. Allen then said, "Yeah, you do it everyday at the practice room." Wonjin being "There might be people who know this (dance)." So these are the kind of things Wonjin does lol.

Now because of Carats' interest, the Vlive comment section is filled with Carats saying that they came because of the S.coup game, which is honestly touching for me as a Cravity fan but also touching to see how much Carats appreciate any attention that Seventeen gets :,D

We had Carats appreciating Taeyoung who's just looking fondly at S.coups last July and Cravity using the same location as Seventeen TTT 2018. Of course there's more but especially the Wonjin x Jooheon (Monsta X) Baksu memes, when he was preparing to cover Seventeen Clap in Produce X 101.

It's not just once that Carats feel wholesome to me but as an IZ°ONE fan, the Hotdog alliance that formed after Carats fed IZ°ONE hotdogs at ISAC is just too hearwarming to ignore.

P.s: In short, a Carat appreciation post.

Seventeen hitting the woah seventeen times

Hit the Road more like Hit the Woah!

If there's one thing Seventeen are known for, it's their charismatic choreography, incredible imagery, debonair dancing, vivacious variety, and their love for one particular dance move - hitting the woah.

Like seriously. They do it SO. DAMN. OFTEN. For example:

  1. The chorus moves for Home;Run
  2. This part in Left & Right (bonus: so good, so then they did it twice - Left & Right at MAMA 2020, with a new dance break and an additional hit the woah)
  3. Of course in Fear
  4. Can't let the bridge in Hit pass without a sneaky hit the woah, Vernon, I see
  5. Wonwoo's lovely deep voice comes on in Happy Ending and that means we have to hit the woah
  6. The most forceful one yet, with Snap Shoot (bonus: Mingyu literally highlighting this part and going to all the trouble to make Hoshi and Woozi do this yet again in the Special MV)
  7. Another moment in the bridge of a song, this time with everyone hitting the woah in Good To Me
  8. When it comes to the woah, Minghao knows that dreams come true
  9. The fact that they taught us carats a danchant (dancing for a fanchant) for Lucky at Caratland 2020 is one thing, but the fact that they all hit the woah with their caratbongs in the midst of all of this too? Talent
  10. Of course you have to end a performance of Thinking About You with the woah
  11. And a performance of Our Dawn is Hotter than Day too
  12. This time when Minghao hit the woah (and Jeonghan tried to) in the background of an Oh My performance
  13. GO JOSHIE hit the woah in this Rocket performance
  14. When you're Vernon, and you're tasked with the freestyling bit towards the end of the choreo for Clap that everyone else has to imitate, you switch it up every time but you come back to hitting the woah every now and then
  15. When you're Woozi, an incredi

She was seventeen years old and her dismembered body parts were found spread out, along the county line

Last week I posted a write up about the murder of seventeen-year-old Maureen Brubaker Farley:

https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/kazjq0/she_was_seventeen_years_old_newly_married_and_her/

Stephanie Marie Casberg was also a victim of murder and she had many personal similarities with Maureen:

Both girls were seventeen years old, worked as waitresses in restaurants, were murdered about two years apart, lived within 245 miles from each other, and each of the two victims had six siblings!

Stephanie Casberg was born in Colorado on July 11, 1951. Her family moved to Milwaukee in 1957.

She was a June high school graduate at the time of her death. She was working part-time as a waitress in Marc’s Big Boy restaurant from 6.30 pm on Sundays until 12.30 am on Mondays.

On Sunday, July 7, 1969, she left home for work. The next day in the afternoon, her employer called her home saying that she didn’t show up at work on the previous day. Her family wasn’t worried that she never returned from work that day since sometimes she used to spend the night at girlfriends’ apartments.

Stephanie was last seen alive by her 11-year-old brother Kevin when she left for work at about 5.30 pm on Sunday but she never arrived at the restaurant.

The gruesome discovery

Two days after she went missing, the dismembered body of Stephanie was found in Racine county, miles from her family home in Lower East Side Milwaukee. Stephanie’s head was found by two fishermen in the Root River. A boy was fishing with an older relative (his father or uncle) when he had found the head.

Stephanie’s body was found in ‘professionally’ cut pieces: head, arms, and her right leg. Her torso and left leg were never found. The body parts were spread out in a wooded area along the Root River, which sits on the Milwaukee-Racine county line. She died two days before the discovery of her dismembered body.

At the same time, Charles Casberg, her father, was planning to report her missing on Wednesday. His oldest son had heard a radio broadcast that police had found portions of a body and were looking to identify it. So Charles decided to first go to the morgue and on his way back, thinking that the dead girl couldn’t have been his missing daughter, report her missing at the police station.

Mr. Casberg first showed to the deputies a photo of his daughter.

I feel really happy and safe here in r/seventeen, thank you.

I just put the flair for shitpost - Because it's not exactly discussion?

I've withdrawn from most of the other kpop subreddits, but I've to really thank you all who post in r/seventeen. Honestly, your occasional memes, incredible fanart, cute discussions, and appreciation posts just like mine, towards carats and towards SVT, really makes me feel so happy.

I'm, very scared of a lot of things, and music has been always my get-go. I've always tried my best to limit my social media, I'm more inclined to read, and never post, and always keep my opinions to myself. And being in r/seventeen was really healing and comforting to me because you guys kept the place so soft, so civil, so proper, and really heart-warming to be in. I'm really glad SVT united you all wonderful people here, for someone very insecure as me, your simple little posts make me really really happy. I've never been the type to enjoy arguments, but I love simple compliments, conversations and inside jokes.

Carats, be happy, be joyful, work hard, play hard, rest hard, and let's all be together in the long run. Keep drawing, keep singing, keep playing instruments, keep typing, and keep going!

This is a really sweet place for me, and I once again, thank you all so much, it's been an amazing time now, and I know it will be in the future too. The mods, the admins, the posters, the ones who simply read too, thank you for being here. Thank you so much.
