Some context of what that might look and function like.
So far, Scener has been garbage for me. I've tried multiple times and it won't load - an hour and 20 minutes into the stream as we speak and still nothing.
It's too bad VERO didn't host this one. I had way less problems using that than Scener.
I don't have Disney+, and don't want to sign up. But is tonight's Skywalker going to be recorded? Or basically the same as the "Just the Jokes"?
Scener is a chrome extension that lets people host watch parties online. It would be awesome to watch Seinfeld with a bunch of other people and chat with them.
Edit: I will be hosting one Friday night at 8:00 PM CST. Season 3 Episode 17, The Pen. I hope some of you can make it! Link: https://scener.com/jacobl42?eventId=30889
Final update: IT LIVES! Enjoy the show, all!
Original post: Scener refuses to load as of 7:30, preshow start time.
I think they underestimated the demand again....
Edit: Page now loads, and they are definitely aware of the issue! Of course I blocked out certain info...
And they are aware and working on it!
Update: Looks like 6:15 pacific is the new aimed-for time! 8:15 central.
I’d love to know which service(s) you prefer for virtual online screenings. Feel free to elaborate in the comments or make other suggestions. TIA
I've been trying out Scener lately and it seems like the simplest solution for some watch parties or just group hangouts. It works with Netflix and several others but each viewer needs their own streaming account so Netflix is probably the one to go with. You can do text or video chat.
I've been keeping a public theater open while streaming Goosebumps episodes on my days off. My username/code is "HORRAWR".
I'd really like to start some informal simul-watches if enough people are into it.
Has anyone used Kast or Scener for virtual screenings and if so what do you like/dislike about the platforms?
Thanks in advance!
I don't use Chrome but considered getting it just to check out the Scener streams, so what exactly are they? Is it playing an already released Just the Jokes riff over a movie we stream on our home browser or is it something new? Is there extra stuff or interactivity or what?
Was wondering if last night's Starship Troopers riff will be available on demand? I wasn't available to watch. Has there been any talk about this?
I understand that it was a live event, but I was hoping a rebroadcast of some sort was in the works.
Or, might the new riffs be available as a new downloadable Riff, via the usual way?
Or, did I miss my chance, and it's gone forever?
Just found out about this chrome extension and tried it out today! It's super good so I thought I'd share for those who don't know about it :)
So what happens is you create a "theater" when you open up Netflix through Scener and then you'll have a link/code for it. When you give that to your SO, they can join the theater and you'll be able to video call or chat with them on the side bar! One person (changeable) will have control to the Netflix and be able to choose, start, or pause the show!
Its like Netflix party but it works for all streaming as long as you have a subscription to it and it also has video chat and text chat. And you can either mute yourself or your partner so the playback noises aren't an issue. It's a little slow at times but it always sorts itself out and we literally use it everyday. It helps so much with amazon mostly cuz their version of Netflix party is super annoying. We typically mute ourselves so we can unmute to make comments when we want and re mute. Its a chrome add on and its literally perfect. No more counting down and holding my phone uncomfortably. I promise you itll change your life pls get it

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I found this google chrome extension called Scener, which is pretty close to Rabb.it. You can connect your netflix account or other services or use a youtube link or movie link and you can watch together with a party with mics and video on.
Hope this helps, enjoy!!!
