So Christmas is coming up and my nephew has recently gotten into music seemingly out of nowhere. I think I've rubbed off on him a little.
Lately he's been posting beat boxing videos on Facebook that I can see he's really proud of and I want to help him further his craft.
There's 2 problems though 1) I'm poor as shit and can only afford about $50 but can possibly justify something cool under $100 2) his family only has the one PC and it's pretty cruddy so MIDI controllers aren't an option.
So do you have any ideas EDM producers? For a poor yet proud uncle?
Let me preface this by saying that I recently got hooked in to frags since I smelled Sauvage. I blind bought a number (bad idea I know). During my research I came across Aventus - first time I smelled it I didn't like it, but now I think its the best frag in the world.
Now I am searching for another scent that I will love so that I can alternate it with Aventus. Sauvage wasn't cutting it anymore, so I tried the Amouage sampler hearing good things. I am very sad but I didn't really like them. I sprayed 12 on business cards and repeatedly went over them from start to end.
Figment - smells old, with a stink aftersmell
Myths - ashtray
Journey - could be nice but too smokey
(top 4) Beloved - powdery spicy sweet - not too bad
Interlude - fresh but too ashy
Honour - smoke spice licorice??
Memoir - Jesus Christ smells like flowers in wakes/burials
Epic - flowery 0 not too bad
(top 3) lyric - old lady (from gf), gentle and not too bad for me
(top 2) dia - old, light, clean

Still need to clear out my stash. Shipping in US is $4, other amount TBD depending on zip for larger orders/palettes. Don't like my prices? Make an offer! Not looking to swap unless you have Fenty Gloss in Fu$$y or CT Airbrush Flawless powder in medium 2.
I'll add a random freebie sampler pack with every purchase! Maybe foils, maybe DS size items.
Don't ghost, will move to NIL after reasonable amount of time with no response, will discount bundles, Paypal F&F preferred, No Venmo, blah, blah, blah... :D
I'm looking to capture a few software synth sounds into my sampler (deluge) to have available in dawless setup. I realized its helpful to record each note separately instead of pitch shifting locally past a few steps. Now I'm playing around with short hits vs pad holds. Starting to think about the other unknown unknowns.
Figure I'd reach out to the community and ask, are there any tips, methods or terms I should be familiar with around sampling a key sound to get the most out of the process?
Thank you in advance! But I want to make Christmas cookie trays for my sales customers this year. My sales customers are farmers so therefore they will eat anything. I am new to baking and would love your most favorite Christmas cookie recipes !
I want to know what plugins do you use and what you expect from your ideal sampler plugin). Maybe you can also share common use cases when you need samplers. I'm currently working on sampler plugin for Linux and other OSs and i searching for a right direction. So I appreciate any help)
I have read a few places that samplers from CI are a bad idea. Based on a bunch of comments, I get the impression they are bundling low end cigars and passing them off as great cigars with a big discount.
In an attempt to really expand my horizons, I figured samplers are the way to go because I’d get to try a bunch of different high end brand name cigars. Am I wrong?
Are these like the “door buster” electronics that manufacturers make cheaply and resemble their higher quality counterparts, but their part number is one letter off?
Any advice on this topic is appreciated.
There is a reason these are still in stock, they are insanely overpriced and unsmokeable. The cedar they placed them in was too green and has completely permeated the cigars. They are only for looking at/display pieces. I know because it happened to me. If you own these, pull them out and smell them. It wont be tobacco smell like a regular cigar, it will be 100% cedar and smoking them is an awful experience. Trust me.
If they come in a box like this do NOT buy them: https://www.cigaranalysis.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Habanos_Seleccion_Robusto.jpg
The ones in this box might be ok but I cant vouch personally:

Anyone hack this thing yet? I kept my red one after deciding that I would regret selling it if someone did for it what the JJ OS did for the MPC. I HATE the Electribe Sampler workflow. The UI sucks!
I currently have the volca sample which I've been using for rudimentary drum sequences for the past year. As my setup evolves I'm starting to look for other options.
I'm a drummer in a real life band so drums have always been important to me, and now that I'm getting more familiar with the volca sample I'm starting to butt heads with it's limitations. It's not that easy to improvise on IMO, and the lack of time divisions makes it really annoying when I want to do a high hat roll or have off-beat hits when tempo synced with my other gear.
I'm not really sure what my other options are, so I'm reaching out for y'all to help me. I've been really liking the vibe of the digitakt so might go down that route, although the new(ish) volca drum is more in my price range. There's also the beatstep pro which would be much easier to improvise on and has a superior sequencer, but whether I get that or not, I still feel like it's time to move on from the sample.
As far as current inspir... keep reading on reddit ➡
I think 7 grams is the perfect amount to tell if you like a strain or not.
There are a LOT of 1g sample packs out there. And I’ve seen up to a quarter pound sample(lol).
How many grams do you think makes the perfect ‘sample’?
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. As many of you may know I’m totally blind. I’m looking for a decent small size sampler after selling my Rowland SP404 because I didn’t like the sequencer or midi implementation. A couple of options I’ve been considering for awhile are the korg electribe 2 sampler or akai mpc500, what’s the interfaces like on these devices? Are they very shortcut or menu based? And how are the menus navigated? I’d be very interested to hear peoples opinions on these devices for a totally blind user, but also in terms of workflow. I look forward to your thoughts everyone :-) thank you very much for your help
Looking for a few sampler packs for my humidor. Why are some good sites?
I've seen a lot of people using samplers for making lofi chillhop beats on YouTube. I've just gotten into making beats for this genre so am relatively new. Once I saw the price of samplers, I wondering how necessary it is? Can I still make a beat that can sound as good as the best of the genre with just a DAW and midi keyboard?
Thanks for any help in advance. Apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge surrounding this topic.
Basically I'm looking to start doing more solo stuff, and I'm looking for a kind of drum machine/sampler that I can use to loop through my pedal chain through my amp. I'm playing guitar, and running my loops through a boss RC-30. I'm not looking for something super complicated or anything like that. I've done a bit of research on them, and I've found a few things, but I'm not really sure what's what.
My price point is around $400 max, which I know is pretty cheap, so I'm not expecting too much from this thing. Just something I can make some simple background beats that I can loop in and out with my guitar as I play. I dont need any synths or anything like that.
For reference, one of my favorite artists is Tash Sultana, who I think uses a Roland SP404-SX https://www.roland.com/us/products/SP-404SX/
They use one here on this song. [h... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey synthgeeks, I'm currently on the market for my first "real" synth (i.e. not a Volca or a Pocket Operator, as much as I love 'em) and I'm questioning what type of synth would be ideal for me.
Needs: I'd like for the synth to be versatile as I like to switch around between lots of genres (everything from analog techno and synthpop, to synthetic hip hop, to noise). Lately I've been spending a lot of time with dark ambient by manipulating field recordings and other strange sounds I encounter, and I'd love for this synth to be able to readily contribute towards that. My budget is around $500 but I could maybe go up closer to $1,000 for something that really warrants it.
Purely in terms of dark ambient, I suspect that a semi-modular monosynth might lead to the most inspiring results that I could then sample in software and proceed from there. However, chords have always been my passion and I feel like a monosynth would leave me wanting more. Plus, one of the major allures (for me)... keep reading on reddit ➡

Trying to clear out some of what I'm not using.
Realforce 87U variable weight bought from drop in October. Used sparingly at work. Drilled stabilizer housings for a MX conversion but reverted board back to stock. Everything works with no issues or wobble. Nice board but I prefer my FC980C $140 shipped CONUS
70 Novelkeys box royals Bought new from Novelkeys, used for a few weeks in a hotswap board, never soldered $25 shipped CONUS
60 Cherry blue switches some of these are clear top and some are black. They may have been soldered before not sure. $12 shipped CONUS

sould I of gotten the korg? I seen two for dirt cheap online before ultimately deciding on the akai. I plan on sequencing the mpx with my akai xr20 machine. Would I of been better off getting the korg instead? I just wasn't sure if the korg would of been inferior or cheap feeling and and tiny. It looks like, after I had already ordered my mpx and did some research on the korg out of curiocity that it has some sequencing capabilities. The mpx does not. But is there a catch to the korg thing? The mpx just shipped out now. Does the korg force you to buy all the other units in order to use? Kinda like kenwood and sony does things sometimes with there stereo equipment and formats, interconnects etc, or is there nothing proprietary about the korg and I could of done better on my purchice? Does the korg allow u to install samples with no ipad needed? This is y I got the mpx, it will not force u 2 use a ipad to use to install sample data
I bought the G560 speakers and I chose the screen sampler in G HUB and it works on desktop but when I get in to a game for example Red Dead Redemption 2 the lights doesn't work it just become black. When I'm going back to the desktop the lights come back up. What to do to fix it so it will work in game too.
I came across this tea brand called tea forte and they seem to have really good reviews on their pyramid tea box collections. I’ve never had any of their tea and was wondering if it is worth to buy a sampler box to try their tea out. Thank you :)
Maybe it’s a pipe dream, but... I am looking for an iOS sampler / looper that can be controlled by midi. If possible so much so that I wouldn’t need to look at the screen. I have the Akai MPD32 and have it connected via a powered USB hub. I have had a lot of success controlling other apps and am pretty happy with this controller. So in a better description 16 pads and volume controls for each pad. A way to possibly control recording via midi and effects per pad / sample a plus. Sequencer doesn’t matter as I want something that can play continuous loops or one shots. Kinda like a performance set up except that I will just record my performance to tape / computer.
I have been looking at Chameleon although I don’t know what the max sample length is and I could do with 10 seconds although 30 would be better.
IMPC pro 2 also looks good although I have heard that MIDI sucks and only half works.
I have also consider BeatMaker 2 although I don’t know if that would work and seams like mor... keep reading on reddit ➡
It's that time of year where we over at TryABlade.com slash our sampler prices to a 25% discount instead of the usual 10% over buying blades separately.
We have 15 (maybe 16 by the end of the day) shavette blades for your consideration as well as new double edge blades. Have a look!
My mother is concerned about losing her sense of smell as she grows older, as this is common in older individuals.
I am trying to figure out if there is a sort of "scent set" that exists for a reasonable price that she could use to stimulate her senses.
There are sets of essential oils that I could buy with large amounts of each oil but these are very expensive.
I am hoping for pure, recognizable scents but a reasonable sized set of blended scents might be useful as well.
This subreddit is one of the only ones I can think of that might be able to help.
If you have a quality big set with a lot of pure scents to recommend I'd be interested in that as a last resort!
I've never really been any good at teasting stuff, whether it be wine, coffee, whiskey or something else, so I'm always a bit flabbergasted when wasting videos on Youtube where they taste and describe the tea. There are so many flavours that I can't seem to be able to identify. It's not that I don't taste the tea, but I'm having a hard time connecting particular tastes to the particular vocabulary that comes with it.
Perhaps part of it is simply experience, and since I started getting into tea two years ago, I know that I have improved. I'm getting a better feel for the dark, chocolatey, nutty, and earthy flavours (although I still find it hard to distinguish them among different teas), and sometimes I get a sense of the grassy or vegetative notes of green teas, but there are still so many flavours that I seem to be oblivious to (mineral, floral, and malty in particular).
So I'm considering putting together a sampler pack to explore the flavour wheel, where each tea would be a signa... keep reading on reddit ➡
