Prologue: I am a Russian female player, who so far exclusively played table top in online groups that were English speaking - except for two Russian groups that you can read about below.
A couple of years ago, I entered my first *Russian* game, not thinking that it might be different in tone - I thought, 'DnD is DnD, who cares what langage it's in'. But, not only were the first 15 minutes of our first session dedicated to discussing there finally being a female player at the table (and I'm not exaggerating about the time), but I was nudged away from playing a *male* Drow like I was going to, and after I joked about it in passing, nudged towards me playing a trap Drow character instead (boy that looks and behaves like a 'girl'). The PO salutes, jumps off the bow, swims to the stern, and climbs back up to stand in front of the admiral and salutes.
The American says, “That, gentlemen, is courage."
The British admiral says, “That's nothing. Sailor, come here."
