Our Father, who art in Mersey
Fowler be thy name;
Thy game time come,
Thine spoils be won
On Earth as it is in Anfield
Give us this day our daily win;
And forgive us our past banter
As we forgive those who banter against us;
And lead us not into second place
But deliver us from shitposts
Amen. ๐

Last session we were fighting a Chronurgy Wizard and the DM homebrewed that Chronurgy Magic (which is a type of lost magic in this world and not learnable by players unless they fulfil certain storyquest requirements), allows you to read a few seconds into the future.
In combat this means anyone who does not have Chronurgy must declare their intentions 1 round before and act on them in whatever means possible. The DM metagames this info against our characters to mimic the enemy "seeing future turns."
EDIT: this was a single enemy and even though we have 4 players, it was quite a challenging battle because advanced knowledge balances out the severe action economy disadvantage the enemy was at.
The Packers regular season is officially over. Aaron Rodgers stayed healthy and played at an MVP level, the team was in a competitive playoff race all the way through Week 17, and they never once played their 1st round selection at quarterback Jordan Love. Thereโs technically still time for injuries or a COVID emergency to come up and force him to pull a Connor Cook, but letโs assume for now the unthinkable likely wonโt happen.
The Packers were in a unique situation this year as a returning playoff team with a healthy, Hall of Fame quarterback able to start all 16 games, and as a result, became the first team to not start their rookie 1st rounder in almost a decade. He wasnโt even their QB2 as that was Tim Boyle, so just a bizarre circumstance all around. Love was actually listed as inactive for most of the season, a healthy scratch save for a few days he spent on the COVID-list due to a close contact.
Since the 2011 CBA was signed and the modern rookie salary scale was implemented, sitting the 1st round quarterback for a season almost never happens anymore. There are the same tired discussions every offseason about whether or not the new rookie QBs are โreadyโ and whether or not they should start, and inevitably almost all of them wind up seeing the field. In 2018 there were 5 rookie 1st round QBs and only Darnold was a Week 1 starter. By Week 4 Darnold, Mayfield, Allen, and Rosen were all starting. Lamar Jackson joined them in Week 11, making all five rookie 1st round QBs starters when four of them were โsupposedโ to sit and develop.
In terms of close calls over the last 25 years there have only been 7 quarterbacks who didnโt get their first start until Week 12 or later. The closest to not starting at all were Patrick Mahomes and JaMarcus Russell who got their only starts in Week 17. Steve McNair didnโt start until Week 16 in 1995. Tim Tebow, Rex Grossman, and Johnny Manziel all got their first career starts in Week 14, and Jay Cutler replaced Jake Plummer in Week 13.
Before Locker you have to go back to 2007 to find another QB who sat their rookie season, Brady Quinn, so Love is just the second rookie 1st rounder to do this in 13 seasons.
Not only did Love never start, he never saw the field for a single regular season snap, the first rookie 1st round QB to accomplish that since Jason Campbell in 2005. Heโs just the 3rd quarterback with that distinction in the last 25 years, joining Carson Palmer in 2003.
In the last 25 years there h
