There’s an abundance of velvet shanks at this button stage near me which is when I think they are the tastiest. Anyone have any suggestions as to what they may lend themselves well to other than stir-fries or stews? In a risotto perhaps..?

When: 24/11/2021 to 28/11/2021

Distance: Approximately 60 miles.

Conditions: Crystal clear, highs in the 70s, lows in the 20s.

Lighterpack: https://lighterpack.com/r/tukeby

Useful Pre-Trip Information or Overview: A good resource is http://www.hikelospadres.com/ You can look up trip reports if you know the names of the places you will go. There are reports for the trails and the camps and even the dirt roads. Use https://bryanconant.com/ for maps.

Photo Album: I have some youtube videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO2qAzREaao&list=PL-9yXoCfg54OS6m1Bc0FAuwk7kBbxbVQk

The Report:

Day 1: 7 miles. Upper Oso trailhead to Little Pine Spring. The washouts on the trail were a little scary, but not too bad. I'm an old lady and I made it. Little Pine Spring is a great camp. It's a little hard to find but I show you in the video where to start in order to find your way there. The spring was filled with delicious, clear water and the camp was cool, shady and pleasant.

Day 2: 16 miles. Little Pine Spring to Bluff. The trail to Santa Cruz Station was in pretty good shape. A little brushy in some spots, a few washouts on the 40 Mile Wall. There was water in stagnant pools at Santa Cruz Station that was good enough to drink, and still frozen in the morning when I arrived. It was very cold down there. I was glad I slept much higher where it was warmer. The trail to Flores Flat and all the way to Coche was pretty steep in some places but in good shape. There was water in the creek near Kellogg, but none at Flores Flat.

The Grapevine Trail went to hell after Coche and made me question whether or not I actually like hiking. But I made it and was able to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with a friend's family. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pie, wine. The works. What a treat! Bluff camp had water, so I was told, and it was pleasant staying there.

Day 3: Dirt road to Alamar Saddle and down the Upper Sisquoc trail, a total of 17 or 18 miles. I hiked 8 miles on the dirt road up and over the mountain. It wasn't

Let us list some of the wonderful things our exes will never experience again

Now join me in some self love! I got dumped near two months ago, she got a rebound and I don´t feel like mourning someone who doesn´t exist anymore, some facade. Here´s some of the things i can´t imagine she doesn´t miss.

-My cooking. Holy shit I can cook some delicious food. Risotto, curry, was also all vegan for my ex. She´ll never see my talent in action.

-My sillyness. I was the most lively and loving person. Always humoristic and playful even in pretty grim times. Can´t imagine someone like me.

-My films and my music. I am a connoseur of great cinema and music. Dang, all of the art she will never see or hear because of me. What a loss

-My will to change. I was always ready to hear her out and change what was poor about the relationship. She wasn´t. Sucks to be so insecure

-My openness. We held the door of our bathroom open all times, we congratulated each other when the other one had the courage to fart in front of the other. That´s hard to come by, that´s true love, no matter how much she convinces her new gf it wasn´t.

-my art. I wrote stories and she made paintings of them. we inspired each other. Try finding someone who can do that for you.

-Me. Just me. I am a gift to have in a relationship. I care, I come with you to everything taking interest in all of your stuff, I try to be as sexually active and caring as I can. How could you not see how special that is?

So lie about me being awful to escape your accountability, surround yourself with every person to escape your loneliness, get deep in that rebound to escape the feelings. It will certainly not hurt anyone. I´ll be here getting in touch with everything that makes me too good for you.

Now tell me what your ex doesn´t deserve!

Video Game Cooking: Tangerine Crabs (Recipe)

https://i.redd.it/ur88o5ucrs381.gif

I love replicating recipes based off of wacky video game foods, and this is the first time I'm working with a game that's not fantasy or science-fiction based. After all, what's the point of replicating fictional food if you're not gonna take the opportunity to puzzle out what Fallout's Bloatflies are supposed to taste like? It's always disappointing to pick up a 'Harry Potter' cookbook and discover that the recipes are just ... regular foods named after Hippogriffs or something.

This time around, we're looking at Tears Of Themis' 'Tangerine Crab' dish! ToT has no magic nor sci-fi outside a sort of, 20-years-from-modern-day use of holograms and 6g mobile networks. There's no giant spider salads or glowing mushroom risottos. You don't have to go to the compendium to look up what the heck a 'Duscaen Orange' or a 'Hyrule Herb' is supposed to taste like. The food of ToT is very much rooted in real life.

Tangerine Crab is, so far, the only story-based food to have no real-life counterpart. It pops up in Luke's personal story, and plays a role in MC and Luke's relationship. Story goes, MC is asked whether they've ever had a particularly good food, and their answer is this 'tangerine crab' they ate at a business dinner. The way they describe it (crab and roe cooked within a tangerine peel) isn't a known recipe in real life. In the ToT world, however, they're able to open a random cookbook and find the recipe immediately 'cause it's a 'famous dish'.

Today, we're gonna whip together our own version of Tangerine Crab, and also take the opportunity to explore the lore of ToT through its food!

Ingredients

  • One blue crab for every one tangerine/orange
  • Spray of mirin/white wine
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Pinch of white pepper
  • Ginger slices

All four boys have a particular relationship with food, and ToT occasionally takes the opportunity to explore their characters through cuisine. Artem in particular is very good at cooking, and many of his stories are about him cooking for/with the MC - the food isn't changed in localizations, so Artem notably makes things like rice congee and other foods native to China. In contrast, Vyn has the baking talent, his penchant for delicate puff pastries and frosted cakes highlighting his European heritage, complete with expensive tea.

I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my first child and my dislike of my MIL has only grown despite no recent incidents

Dont use this post or it's contents on any other platform!

My husband's parents are divorced. I'm not a huge fan of FIL or MIL but MIL irritates me quite a bit more. Being 12 weeks pregnant with our first child has made me think about how I want things to go immediately after the birth (e.g. no visitors staying with us for the first month) but has also really brought out my resentment of her for her treatment of me and my husband.

Here are some of the major incidents with MIL:

  1. MIL is a very militant vegan. My husband and I eat meat. When she visits us, I make vegan meals and keep vegan products in the house for her. She is very condescending to us because we eat meat. Once I ran my dinner plans past her - I said I was planning on a sundried tomato and basil risotto and I asked if that was OK. She said yes, sounds great. When I served dinner she refused to eat it because she doesn't like sundried tomatoes. She then boiled a pot full of diced zucchini and just ate that. I thought that it was rude for her to say yes to a meal when I'm trying to accommodate her then refuse to eat it. She could have just told me that she doesn't like sundried tomato.

I'm not judging her vegan diet at all - she can eat whatever she wants and I'm happy to accommodate it. However it does annoy me that she clearly judges us. I also find it ironic because although I know that a healthy vegan diet is possible and there are many benefits, she does not eat a healthy diet. For example, she will just eat a watermelon for lunch. Or a pot of boiled zucchini. She suffered from abcesses due to vitamin deficiencies but wouldn't acknowledge this was due to her crappy diet.

She also thinks that veganism can cure all ills. For example, she cited a story about being vegan for 2 weeks curing someone's type 1 diabetes. I absent mindedly commented that if being vegan helped this person, they were either misdiagnosed or just had a crap diet to begin with. She was furious that I questioned her and accused me of being an intellectual snob and looking down on her.

  1. My husband was diagnosed with complete kidney failure at age 27. He was otherwise very fit and healthy and the specialist said that one of the reasons his kidneys got so bad without detection was because he was young and fit so his body was able to cope and adjust for 10+ years.

When I phoned MIL to give her the news (husband was receiving urgent care) the first thing she said to me was, "What have you been feeding him?!" As

I met Dan last night, but I'm a little concerned about what the chair is doing to him.

I saw Dan on my 8pm shift at Apple Bees last night. As the manager and a big fan I went up to him and asked if he wanted anything special, and that I insist. He laughed a little and said "can't say no to a fan, do you want a picture for your trouble?". Of course I did so we took a nice selfie that I was excited to show to my girlfriend later.

I went back to the freezer to check inventory for about 10 minutes before Sally, my most senior waitress, comes back to get me sweaty and visibly shaken. She says "it's that Dan fellow, he refuses to order off the menu. He says he has made an 'deal' with you and he must collect, whatever that means." Troubled, I walked back over to the table to ask what was wrong.

As I approached the table he said a little too loudly "hello again, enjoying your picture?" I said "sure, thank you again, can I help you navigate our menu?". "I'm not ordering off the menu" he replied, "you promised me something special if I gave you a photograph. Did you forget that?"

I must have looked a little baffled at the question because he quickly started saying "HUH? HUH? HUH?" until I said yes I remembered. He looked me in the eyes and said "You gen Z trash don't even know how to keep a promise anymore do you? That’s what’s wrong with your generation". I could see his phone was already open to our Yelp page.

A little nervous from his last comment I just asked him what he wanted. "Sushi". I laughed thinking it was a joke (isn’t he like vegetarian or something anyway?) but he wasn't laughing with me. "Does my hunger amuse you?" he yelled sharply. Trying to calm him down I nearly whispered "sir, we don't serve sushi here, this is Apple Bee’s".

I guess he really didn't want to hear that because he started screaming "DO YOU PLEBEIANS EVEN KNOW WHAT SUSHI IS?! NO, I GUESS YOU DON'T THAT'S WHY I'M FAMOUS AND YOU'RE HERE WORKING AT APPLE BEES." I told him he needed to calm down immediately or I would have to call the police. I could see him touching his ankle, "No need to involve them, I'll simply take 3 orders of mushroom risotto and 2 extra rare salmons please". I don't even think that’s a thing, but whatever.

20 minutes later I set his food down at the table and ask him if him if he needs more utensils for the other orders. He said "Yes I need two sets of chopsticks, please" with a smirk. I didn't even respond, I just walked away.

What happened next can hardly even be described in good company. He proceeded to dump all the orders of salmon a

La Squadra Ending Concept

This is an alternate ending to the game that I came up with and wanted to make for a while.

How to get it: After you’re given the lighter from Bruno, take it to Prosciutto, who is located near the cafe. Speak to him:

Prosciutto: “You... I know who you are.”

You: “No you don’t.” | “Weirdo...”

Prosciutto: “Of course I do. You helped that Giovanna brat at the station, didn’t you?”

You: “I did. He asked me to.” | “That’s none of your business.”

Prosciutto: “Alright then. Let me ask you this: What’s that you have in your hand?”

You: “It’s a lighter. Bucciarati gave it to me.” | “Don’t even think about it!”

Prosciutto: “He gave it to you? Anyways, I have a proposition for you. If you hand over the lighter, I’ll see about landing a spot in our group. Deal?”

You: “Deal.” | “No thank you...”

Prosciutto: “Great. Now with that out of the way, I have you’re first assignment...”

You: “When do I see the other members?” | “Maybe later.”

Prosciutto: “You’ll meet them along the way. Go see Melone. He should be somewhere in the city. I gotta find Pesci.”

At this point, you cannot interact with any members of Passione. After talking to Prosciutto, go to Melone, who is near the railing facing SO Jotaro.

Melone: “Who are you? Did Ghiaccio send you?”

You: “Ghiaccio?” | “Cya!”

Melone: “Oh wait... you’re the rookie that Prosciutto recruited. You look very promising...”

You: “Are you alright?” | “I’m outta here.”

Melone: “Whatever... I need your help with something utter.”

You: “What is it?” | “You’re on your own, pal.”

Melone: “That Mista trailing me and I can’t carry out our work. Can you stall him for a few minutes?”

You: “Sure can.” | “Nope.”

Melone: “You’d better show up to what I said.”

After that, you’ll have to beat Mista. He has 6P and will use Redirection Barrage during the fight and Prone Shot if at half health. After beating him, talk to Melone again.

Melone: “Woah, I wasn’t wrong about you. Thanks, rookie.”

You: “What now? | “No time for that...”

Melone: “Pesci could use your help. That idiot shouldn’t be far from here”

Pesci is located in the train station, around the area that Bucciarati’s in. Speak to him once you get there.

Pesci: “You must be the guy that Prosciutto brought in. Am I glad see you, because I need your help.

You: “What the matter this time?” | “Sorry, no can do.”

Pesci: “We were given the capio’s treasure from Passione and I accidentally lost all of it. Can you maybe see about finding a replacement for all of it.”

The Death of an Ambulance Chaser (Part3) (Final)

Part 1, Part 2

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your friend Lenny is dead. This isn’t a role I usually play; most of the time when someone gets into my ambulance I can predict pretty accurately if they’re going to make it or not, but I’m not the one who has to break the news to people. It’s not easy, but as far as I know Lenny didn’t suffer.

My name’s Faruq, not “Enrique”, by the way. I know Lenny’s racist ass could never remember my name, but he could have at least gotten the right continent. As you might know, Lenny hasn’t been seen in about a week, but as of right now I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who knows he isn’t just missing. I’m the only one who’s talking, anyway, and I’m guessing that’s the way it’s going to be for a while.

As far as anyone else knows, his car turned up abandoned a few miles from his house. He rented a car they still haven’t found, and he was last seen leaving a sleazeball motel. A woman who works for his law firm called the police, and now they’ve been poking around everywhere and asking lots of questions.

If Lenny had just asked me, I could have let him know that something has been messed up around here for a while. Probably longer than anyone on my side has noticed, since medics don’t stay involved past the hospital doors very often. That being said, you pick up on little things, like critical patients being wheeled off in the wrong direction. You hear rumors too, rumors about people who seemed fine either dying, or who never made it into the hospital’s paperwork at all.

Yesterday I was wondering whatever became of old Lenny Chapman like the rest of you when I got a strange call from dispatch for a non-emergency transport. I don’t usually deal with those kinds of rides, it’s lots of old people going in for surgery and the like, but I was already in overtime and it sounded a hell of a lot better than the shit I usually deal with. There was a nurse with the patient, so it would just be me driving to the suburbs then taking them back to the hospital.

It ended up being way the hell out in Haddonfield, like 40 minutes from Camden. Haddonfield is one of the richest spots in all of Jersey, but the area they sent me was the rich part of that rich town. Rich like they sent me down a street where the smallest place you’ll

Welcome to the Kinnder Community, We are Maintenance for Unusual Denizens - Part 18

Part 18: פɯɐǝ Hlqɯnǝ S‘Iʇɐuɹɐɔuǝ Ɔoɐɥs

August 3rd, 6:00am

Hello Lacey,

It is with great trepidation and reluctance that I send you and the rest of the staff on this next assignment. Nevertheless it needs to be done, or else things will become very difficult, very quickly. I have put a hold on all other maintenance requests and Assignments until this one is completed. To give you an example of the danger you are about to encounter, you all will be joined by an armored Military Escort. Today’s assignment is to deliver lunch to Kyle and play a board game.

You may be confused, and more than a bit worried about what I just said. Yes, all of this precaution and panic is indeed because Kyle is hungry and needs entertainment. But trust me when I say, there is more at stake than mere food and games. You see, Kyle is a being far outside of human understanding, a being with control over the fabric of the universe itself. To explain Kyle in the simplest of terms, he is Murphy's law made manifest. Entropy, ruin, order, peace, war, good, evil, he is all of these things and none of these things. He is Chaos, unknowable in form and uncontrollable in action.

Kyle came to us nearly a century ago, offering us a deal. We give him a place to live in our community, and in exchange, he allows us to continue existing. At the time, my family didn’t take his request seriously, laughing at him as if he were the town fool. In response, Kyle turned the red blood cells of every single person within 50 meters of him into microscopic pancakes. We lost nearly 75 staff and family members and 16 residents. Almost all of whom were powerful beings in their own right.

Afterwards, he was quickly allowed in, and given a space all his own. However, he added a single clause to his contract as payment for insulting him with laughter: “Once a year, on any given day, I’ll make a call for a meal and a game. I will call for three players and I will expect the meal to be hot. You may leave once the game concludes. Fail to meet these terms and I get one hour to do with the world as I wish.”

Now you may be asking yourself, “Why would a being as powerful as Kyle stay here, let only obey the rules of this place?” I’ve asked that same question, I believe it is solely to torment us with his sick game. In all honesty though, that is what is truly terrifying about Kyle. He can leave at any time, destroy the world at any point, aim a sneeze at a country and replace it with a cheese wheel and it’s p

Credit card debt (and how you accumulated it): 0, paid off every month

Student loan debt (for what degree): 12999 left for an English degree. I graduated from a Public Ivy in 2017 with 65k in debt. I got down to about 55k aggressively paying them off until 2019, then I received a large amount of hush money from a legal case, where I paid off another $30k in debt. My grandma helped me pay off another 7k or so in late 2019/ early 2020. Have been at 12999 since the pandemic froze interest in March 2020, and plan on paying that off with my savings in September.

Total Net Worth: 45,843

Section Two: Income

Income Progression: I have yet to have a real, salaried, stable job with benefits.

I’ve been serving tables since April, I started at $3.13 an hour, but in May we got a raise to $4.13. My paycheck almost exclusively goes to paying taxes, and I keep whatever cash I get at the end of the night. If I’m owed money from credit card tips, that will go on paychecks, if it doesn’t go to taxes. I very rarely get a paycheck.

I am also in grad school for an Education degree at the moment. My 93 year old grandma is very generously paying for my grad degree because she has a bunch of money left and very much values me becoming a teacher. Before starting grad school, I was working in Entertainment PR in NYC, making $22 an hour. Before that, I was a receptionist at a high end beauty company, making $17 an hour (negotiated up from 16 lol). Before that, I was interning at the previous PR company making $15 an hour (reached out to them for a reference when I was sick of the receptionist job, got the second job there with more money, then got let go March 2020). Before that, I worked at Starbucks for $10 an hour + tips.

Main Job Monthly Take Home:

Note: I didn’t want to add total compensation to the title because it is so volatile and I never know how much money I am going to make. In June I made about 4k for the month, and for all of July I ended up with about 5k in cash, not including the paycheck I’m expecting later this week. What is the WORST food to come from your culture/region?

For me, it is an Indian dish called bisibelebath. Imagine you take a nice plate of risotto.

However, you decide to use whatever vegetables you find in the back of your fridge. You season it with whatever spices you feel like, and then literally autoclave it ( pressure cooker).

What comes out is what looks like literal puke. I’ve nearly thrown up eating it, and my sibling as every time they have. Parents love it.

Section One: Assets and Debt
I am recently graduated, I have been working on my student debt, and I was unemployed post-graduation in May 2020 until March 2021.

Retirement Balance (and how you got there): currently, zero. My job does not come with any sort of retirement plan, and being an immigrant from the USA, investment options are complicated (the IRS is one complex beast). I have worked that out, and will begin contributing once I pay off my predatory student loans from Sallie Mae.

Equity if you're a homeowner (and how much you put down and how you accumulated that payment): renter 😊

Savings account balance: $0 in traditional savings, $3500 in a HISA, 1500 of which will be going to my loans this month

Checking account balance: $3040 at the beginning of the week because TD requires $3000 in order to waive the monthly $10 fee. I am considering moving to Tangerine bank.

Credit card debt (and how you accumulated it): zero

Student loan debt (for what degree): 33,000 USD remaining, original balance was about 80,000 CAD/64k USD. Most of this is Federal SL at a lower interest rate. $7786 of this debt is Sallie Mae. It was for HR.

  2. seal on chicken breast opening and leaking all inside of protein bag multiple times

  3. seal on salmon and tilapia opening and leaking all inside of protein bag multiple times

  4. shrimp going from nice hard tray to flimsy plastic bag that has leaked every single time I have gotten a shrimp dish.

  5. For Memorial Day & Labor Day both boxes went to the Romeoville Ill Fed Ex facility, sat there all day Monday, didn't ship out until late on Tuesday and by the time they came on Wednesday where unusable. *more about Labor Day box later.

  6. I had 2 CS reps tell me that maybe Home Chef isnt right for me since I continue to have so many issues, none of with are my fault. Did NOT like that being said. Horrible customer service.

  7. Last weeks box (Labor Day week), saw another post about this too, had 1 ice pack on the ingredients that was nearly melted and there was 1 ice pack on the proteins that was completely melted. The ground turkey had turned grey and everything was warm.

  8. the above box was the 2nd week in a row that I had not been able to use my box. The last week of August my box left Chicago on the 30th at the normal time, around 8pm. For some random reason, that I still have no explanation from FedEx from, they delayed my box until Wednesday even though the normal route is Chicago - South Bend - Livonia (my hub). There was more than enough time for it to still go its normal route. So Tuesday morning I check tracking and see it hasn't scanned in anywhere. I call Fed Ex and they say the box is in Belleville and should be sent to Livonia in the morning. I ask why can't they just deliver it from Belleville and get no answer. So the next day I check tracking only to find out it was BACK in Chicago. I call Fed Ex again and come to find out they did send the box to Livonia and it was on a truck only to be pulled off. Obviously by now, since it hasn't left Chicago again I will not be ge

Le Gourmand: zero stars

I didn’t have any particular passion for food, growing up. Not the way so many of the other servers at Le Gourmand seemed to have, or claimed to have, at least. Those slick-haired, slim-vested, mustachioed pricks. To them, running plates of Duck à l’Orange or Saddle of Venison with Sauce Poivrade to tables full of glittering, drunk patrons was as much a testament to their own peculiar tastes as it was a brutal economic necessity. To serve in such an establishment was a privilege and an honor, it went, even though it was still meagre service to a thankless crowd of elites in return for a small pittance of a paycheck. But at least it was a steady pittance of a paycheck, for which I could at least be grateful, in spite of my cynicism. And after a few weeks of observing these overstuffed imbeciles gorge themselves on meals that cost more than my monthly rent, my cynicism slowly gave way to a reluctant appreciation. This was not the plan.

I fell into the job during the pandemic, when waitstaff became scarce and restaurants became desperate. I would come to understand that this was not the way most of the staff at Le Gourmand came to their stations, but the headhunter who put me in touch with the Maître d'hôtel neglected to explain that when he described the role. See, most of these fuckers had apprenticed from their early teens in the back of house at fancy restaurants all across Europe, earning their wings in the gustatory crèches of the continent before hatching into the Michelin-starred palaces of cuisine in Paris. London. Tokyo.

New York.

I had been laid off from my position at a New York advertising firm in March of 2020, right as the first deaths were being reported. When the deaths started, the cash flow stopped, the budgets seized up and the ad spend evaporated. I collected unemployment for some time, pathetically checking in with my network here and there about openings, leads, ideas. I didn’t miss the work, and our communal imposed seclusion in those early months helped me ward off some of the brewing shame I felt gestating within me, putting on a brave face during all those Zoom happy hours my friends and family scheduled on Friday nights despite my inability to relate to the complaints about Work From Home and the attendant telecommunications issues, but the days grew longer and my mood grew darker and my savings grew smaller.

I drank. At first just in the evenings. Then a bottle of wine or two at lunch. Soon my onanistic benders bled i

AITA For not sharing recipes with my mom?

I know this isn't as exciting as most of the stuff that gets posted here, but maybe a few people will see this and let me know if I'm really being an ass.

Anyway, I (23F) am an amateur home cook type person. I am nowhere near a professional level, but most people seem to enjoy my food most of the time. At events where people bring dishes, mine are usually pretty popular and I am used to people asking me for recipes, and usually I am happy to share.

Except my mom doesn't actually use the recipes that I give her. She... takes inspiration from the names of the dishes or the core ingredients, but she doesn't actually follow the instructions at all. Again, this normally wouldn't bother me, except she then tells people that the food she's making is mine. She'll either say, "This is InsightfulPetunia's salmon florentine parcels" or "I've made InsightfulPetunia's risotto recipe."

Apparently this has made me something of a joke in our family and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT. She only started asking for my recipes within the last few years, and only for family gatherings I wasn't going to be at. I only found out recently because my cousin got married a few months ago and I was helping her plan. She was having a "may-day fair" kind of theme, and opted for a pot-luck-ish dinner, where she asked a limited number of close friends and family to be responsible for certain dishes. I was excited to help and volunteered to make a few dishes, and she kind of snorted (thinking I was joking). When she realized I was serious, she danced around the issue then finally admitted she didn't think my cooking was up to the standard she was hoping for. I was like "but you've never had my cooking." And that's when she told me about the food my mom brings, and that it's so terrible that's why I've never been asked to bring a dish to any of our family gatherings since I turned 18.

So anyway, labor day is coming up and a big family get together is being planned, but I'll be out of town. My mom reached out to ask about good recipes, and I said I wasn't really comfortable with that, and she asked why. After some back and forth, I finally snapped and said "because you don't make my recipes, you make something random then blame me for the mess."

I know I hurt her feelings, and I've apologized for that. But I still won't give her any more recipes and have asked her not to make any of the old ones, or at least not to claim they are mine. She's saying that's uncalled for and points out she

Jacob's HK: S21, E9: The Star of the Show

Previously on Hell’s Kitchen: The teams took part in a relay race, cooking three of Hell’s Kitchen menu items for Chef Ramsay. Elizabeth continued to rub her team the wrong way, refusing to let Annie help her during her course. But it was Penelope and Melissa that cost their team with their overcooked lamb. Later that evening, Ramsay revealed that five chefs would be cooking for their lives. In the end, it was Claudia who said goodbye to her dream of running the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And now, the continuation of Hell’s Kitchen…

After Elimination:

Picking up where last episode left off, the majority of the chefs stay by the living room, waiting for the last chef to arrive. Penelope sits closest to the door, anxiously wondering what happens.

(CONF 1)

Penelope: Please, please be Claudia. The blue team will be fine, they’ve got four good chefs. We need everybody we can get!

---

Frank compares it to watching a soap opera, much to Val and Annie’s amusement. Suddenly, the door opens, revealing an ecstatic Troy. He jumps around, yelling “Who’s the best?” to anyone near him, including his teammates.

(CONF 2)

Penelope: You’re not Claudia. You’re just dumb old Troy. Whatever, at least I don’t have to sleep next to you.

---

Mark pats Troy on the back, congratulating him on the victory. With all the excitement, Frank decides to call it a night, walking towards the dorms. On the way, however, he decides to stop by the red team’s dorm to check in on Elizabeth.

(CONF 3)

Frank: Annie and Elizabeth really got into it when she got back, so I want to see how she’s doing.

---

Frank enters the red team’s dorm, spotting a still infuriated Elizabeth on her bed. Frank walks up to her, asking if she’s alright. Unsurprisingly, Elizabeth tells him that she’s pissed.

(CONF 4)

Elizabeth: I’m disgusted. My team threw me under even though I’ve done nothing wrong since I got here.

---

Elizabeth vents about how the only thing the red team can pine her for is because ‘her attitude isn’t good’. Frank urges Elizabeth not to let this affect her. They just want the red team to be at their best. Elizabeth scoffs, claiming that they don’t know her. Confused, Frank asks her what she means. Elizabeth goes silent, almost as if she’s come to a realization. She mutters, telling Frank to ‘forget it’. He stands up, bidding Elizabeth good night, and begins to walk to the men’s dorm. Just before Frank leaves, however, Elizabeth has a

[Polytechnic] NYP Course Reviews 2021

HEY TO THOSE APPLYING TO JAE OR EAE NEXT YEAR! I present the 2021 course reviews for NYP :) I'm mainly resending it (with more additions) as I'm deleting my old account.

To all current or former students of any poly/ jc/ mi/ ite: Feel free to join in! We'll love your input and I'll create a new post asap once we hit 10 courses for each form (so we don't spam sgexams with too many posts). These forms are to consolidate experiences :)

Let's share our experiences and help give much needed insights to our freshmen (looking from the influx of course posts) :P

Welp without much further ado, here's what you've all been waiting for...

1. School of Business Management (SBM)

Business Management

Anoyamous: Another course rejected me initially so I just went with business because I had a slight interest. You can study accounting and brush up on your report and presentation skills beforehand, and buy work clothing and shoes so you won't have to rush to buy before your first presentation. A lot of people here are outgoing but they're pretty chill and easy to get along with most of the time. However, there is a lot of snakes here such as bullies or people who will use you to try to get a high GPA while hiding things from you and pulling you down. Spot these people quickly and avoid them like the plague! The teachers here are helpful and go to the extreme ends to help us get A's. Sometimes it's easy to get high GPA, it's not impossible. But it is hard to grasp concepts but all you have to do is ask the teachers/ friends for help. It's harder to maintain your GPA than to get a high GPA here (unless your GPA is low in the first year). For now, we have mainly assignments such as quizzes, group projects, individual reports and presentations. We will have exams for most modules once Covid-19 is over, but to avoid large gatherings, there is no exams as of now. For CCAS, it depends on the CCA you're taking. If it's a clubs and society CCA, it's manageable, but for sports you will hav

My first pride month as openly Bi [F] married to recently openly Bi [M]

Sorry for the re-post. I decided to post on my more “public” profile because I no longer give a fuck about keeping my bisexuality more private.

——————————————————————————

Long time lurker 👀. This is going to be a long post but I got so much love and validation from this subreddit so decided to do my part.

I have known that I am Bi for few years but didn’t think it was valid to share my story because I’m married to a bi guy (and I have a vagina 😝). I didn’t have time to deal with “but you guys are in hetero relationship?” Nah, we are both queer.

But this month, I decided do some journaling and ended up sharing it with this that matter to me the most. So far, I am overwhelmed with love I am getting from even those who I was worry about losing.

Here is my story, hope it helps aid your journey wherever you are ✨🤞🏼

———————————————————————— Happy pride month💖💜💙🌈

This is not a coming out story because I don’t feel the need to “come out”. As long as I can remember, I always have been myself. So as long has you have known me, I have always been bisexual (surprise?! 🥳). What was lacking was the self-realization that I fall under that label.

Imma continue living and loving my life as is, authentic, always growing, exploring, and becoming. I hope y’all can do the same whoever you are (queer, trans, cis, non-binary, hetero, and many more)✌🏼🏳️‍🌈

[If you are intrigued about why I am posting this, feel free to continue reading]

All my time in this earth, my idea of romantic and sexual interest and attraction has been the same: people are such amazing, brilliant, unique, and gorgeous creatures, I wouldn’t be surprised or resistant if I fell in love or was attracted to someone regardless of their gender, sexuality or physical anatomy. Yet, I never thought of myself as queer (just a very enthusiastic ally!). Mostly because this is what I thought was “normal”. Why would someone decide to be attracted to or love someone based on their own and the other person’s gender? Based on my personal experience, I have never heard even a cis-hetero person say, “I love this person because they are a (man/woman).” So I lived my life and danced through life without the slightest idea that I am queer, because I thought everyone else was just like me, but some people just have a stronger attraction to one gender over others.

It was not until 6+ years into my romantic, spiritual, and sexual (oh myyy!) relationship with an incredibly inspiring, caring and loving life

Mommasaurus Rex: She’s Back! Day One of my Captivity!

My peace and quiet is officially over.

I have spent the last two weeks housesitting my parents mansion while they were away on vacation. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to have a place to exist without the added pleasure of a specific someone screaming at me the moment I walk through the front door. That, and my personal safety has been imploring me for a reprieve.

I can tell you that every moment I spent watering and pruning her gardens was a fantasy I envision for myself for the infinite foreseeable future. I absolutely LOVE gardening. I just had to give my black thumb CPR for the past 10 years. Once that was sorted, I never looked back. I even grew some amazingly tits tomatoes. I hate tomatoes. Still fucking grew some! But I digress.

One downside to this serenity is that “Rex’s” new dog has stayed with her friend this whole time. I was unfortunately wrenched into some otherworldly shenanigans when Rex had decided, for the second time in the past 10 years, to fucking buy a puppy and NOT TELL MY DAD. Because that went so well the first time.

While on our recent vacation, Rex disclosed to me, that she bought my “dad” a new puppy, but I can't tell him. Her ass absolutely did not like that if she wants that to be the case, she can never refer to the puppy as “her” dog. She has to let my dad raise this dog. So, as I already knew, this is never going to end well for her and on par with the expected.

Another downside to my serenity, is that Rex did leave her first dog home with me. Anyone with a morsel of intelligence already knows that I LOVE dogs. Have owned, trained and raised many in my lifetime. I currently have four dogs. Correction, three dogs. I have to leave this guy with a specific someone. However, Rex’s fucking dumbass dog does not happen to be on my bucket list of “must do.” And Rex fucking hates that I call her dumbass Shih Tzu-Poodle mix a “Shitty-Poo.” This Fuckface dog barks incessantly out the front window at the fucking grass growing. And then had the audacity to have a flea infestation.

I have had some of the most wonderfully serene and peaceful moments that my cold little charred ashen heart could ever hope for. But all good things must come to an end.

So, as planned, I went to pick up Rex and my dad from the airport this morning. I have thanked them countless times for letting me housesit their mansion while they were on vacation. I have

Part 5 and Giorno Appreciation Post

10/10 Holy fuck award

Long ass post just gushing about this part.

At first watch you really don’t get to appreciate the thematic elements crammed in this part, especially so when you binge it like me and don’t get to think it over. But on rewatch? Goddamn.

I think the one thing I noticed is how representative of the entirety of Jojo’s this part feels. What at first glance is the most disconnected part from the overarching Jojo’s storyline, is actually the true culmination and crystallization of Jojo’s theme i.e. fate and the struggles we face dealing with it. Part 4 felt like a culmination in its characters; Josuke literally being a mix of all three Jojo’s before him, and it having the most amount of Jojo’s present in any part so far. It was a small and intimate celebration of Jojo’s characters, but it still had its own separate story to tell. Part 5 is a celebration of Jojo’s thematic depth.

Fate:

Fate is touched on in all previous parts but never really brought to center stage. In this part, fate is literally given a will, it acts as its own character, it can be even compared to a God in some sense, and the religious symbolism is so blatant I can’t tell how I did not notice it in the first run; Giorno being the son of DIO meaning God in ITALIAN (you know, the place they’re in), actually noticing why Dio is written in all caps in part 3 onwards, because that’s how people spell the word GOD to show respect, in a sense he’s ascended to godhood after achieving The World, and now his son (“the son of God”) is going after Diavolo (meaning the devil) in a struggle to right his wrongdoings of defying fate and trying to oppose it (as did Satan) then sending him to a life of eternal suffering (Hell). A direct confirmation of the existence of the after life. There were souls in past parts, but never interactions between dead characters like Abbachio and his friend, or Bruno literally ascending to heaven with cherubs and angels, a very Abrahamic/Christian image. The Rolling Stones stand user wearing a crown of thorns with holes in his hands, an almost obnoxiously clear allegory to Jesus, his stand being a representation of fate’s will.

An interesting thing is, Araki at first planned for Fugo to betray the gang but he scrapped the idea due to personal reasons. This could be a stretch but that might be an allusion to Judas in some sense?

Giorno:

Giorno gets a lot of flack, and while he's not my favorite JoJo because I prefer the more zany ones,

You’re throwing a dinner party from hell with Bravolebs. Who’s invited and how does the night play out?

Friends of, husbands, Reiki healers, etc. are welcome to attend! I want my party to be messy with a capital M, so here is my list:

Jeff Lewis (Flipping Out) Allison DuBois (RHOBH) Ramona Singer (RHONY) Karen Huger (RHOP) Jen Aydin (RHONJ) Jill Zarin (RHONY)

I will be serving oysters and charcuterie for guests to snack on while they drink too many martinis, followed by saffron seafood risotto, veal saltimbocca and grilled artichokes, and tiramisu.

During drinks and appetizers, a hopped-up on Diet Coke Jill Zarin of Zarin Fabrics passes Jeff her business card but takes offense when Jeff expresses his opinions on dated drapery treatments. Ramona slurps oysters sensuously in the background.

“Wow, I’d love to see her tackle a clam,” Jeff snidely remarks.

As the guests are seated, awaiting their first course, Ramona asks Karen if she’s ever had risotto before. La Grande Dame tries not to lose her shit while explaining that yes, black people eat risotto too. Between bites of the succulent seafood dish, Ramona says, “look, I’m sooory, okayyyy.”

“Well, at least I’ve seen her tackle racism,” Jeff snidely remarks.

The saltimbocca and artichokes arrive. An overserved Jen has struck up a conversation with Karen and asks Allison to give Karen a reading. Between puffs of her e-cig, Allison tells Karen that Ray will never emotionally fulfill her. Know that. Karen runs to the powder room, holding back tears as Jen attempts to run after her but trips and settles into a slumber near a credenza. Allison makes a muffled incantation, as if she is calling on a familiar.

“That went well,” Jeff snidely remarks.

Dessert is served. Karen returns to the table, trying to keep her composure. As everyone takes their first bite of tiramisu, an African Grey Parrot swoops in, becoming entangled in Ramona’s hair. Has Allison DuBois summoned T’Challa?! Screams of terror fill the air while a Diet Coke-fueled Jill Zarin of Zarin Fabrics tries to free T’Challa. Karen’s tears turn to laughter as she spritzes herself with some La Dame perfume and enjoys the ensuing chaos. Allison leans back in her chair, taking a huge puff of e-cig. As T’Challa flies away, she exclaims, “I love that about me.”

“That makes one of us,” Jeff snidely remarks.

Jen continues snoring softly in the background. After enduring the trauma of a parrot caught in the tangles of a Young Cameron Diaz, everyone calls their rides. The candles are extinguished. Bill Aydin pulls up in his Ferrari, looks at his slumber

Cosmonaut's Jojo's Video is Wack

Alright Cosmonaut I have no hate for at all, I used to watch his channel and I just drifted away gradually, for no reason really I just did. I checked out this video because I love Jojo's and my god I didn't like this one. I know its been a while since its release but I just need to get my thoughts out there (I think MangaKamen also did a video about it but I haven't seen it yet). There are so many weird things he says, stuff that's blatantly wrong etc. Remember there's no hate here he seems like a cool dude, he just made a bad video imo. I love this series and I am aware of its flaws but I do feel a lot of his points also is shared with a lot of people and I want to disprove many of the ones I think are unfair and untrue to the series and give Jojos its deserved credit as I feel its a much better series than many think. Like people say its overrated and I disagree, a lot of people just kinda see it as a meme series and even a guilty pleasure, it doesn't really have that prestigious aura around it like series like One Piece and Hunter X Hunter.

Parts 1+2 Section:

"I don't like the way Araki writes his side characters. While I love Joseph, I cant say I feel anything for anybody else."
Now I don't really mind this statement and this is during Part 2 (he improved massively with each part eventually getting to the point where in Part 5 the main cast was full of memorable and great characters) and I agree that Araki's character writing especially side characters was pretty weak back then aside from a few notable exceptions like Jonathan, Rio Zeppeli, Dio, Wham, Stroheim and Joseph.

Part 3 Section:

"Part 3 is kinda stinky. Its bloated, its very long for no reason"
There is a reason though. Its a monster of the week road trip spanning across 50 days and the timeline is pretty much that. But this I also feel is a pretty popular opinion which I heavily disagree with, so many people call Part 3 repetitive and bloated but its a monster of the week and very episodic, its not really meant to be binged especially the manga and for its time it was very creative as anyone could be a threat like a baby, a doll, a dog, etc where many other shonen where if you werent an alien or a martial artist you were useless. Also Part 3 I feel has so many fun fights that are really different from each other to like Ebony Devil's clash with Polnareff, Hanged Man, Death 13, and most of the Egyptian Gods were fantastic like both Darbys, Pet Shop, Bastet and Ge

Dr. Mycelium, Part 12

Have you ever been unable to sleep, but also too tired to be properly awake? So you lay in bed, occasionally shifting to be more comfortable, never really finding the right spot despite that. Even though you have slept on that bed before. It can't possibly be this uncomfortable…

That was that night, except for a brief and restful window around five in the morning. I "woke up" at around six, and Durga had just showered. After a fleeting moment of regret about staying in bed, I told her that we had to talk and filled her in on Mike's visit.

"...So you just let him in here?" she asked. "Into our home that houses a six-year-old?"

I cringed. "He's harmless. I wanted to invite him to dinner, actually, but—that's not—I think that weird thing has my memories, Durga."

She looked at me curiously for a long moment. "...What about my memories?"

"I don't think they're there," I said. "But I could probably convince Mike to get them from Epipsyche's lab."

She made a thoughtful noise. "And the rest of them, they’re planning something."

I nodded, growing a little nervous at that. "Should we tell Gabo about them?"

She shook her head. "No. At least not yet."

"He's a cop, surely he—"

"What is going on with you, Derek?" she asked. "We need to be smart about this, and you keep just… deferring... to authority…" She looked horrified for a moment.

"I mean, in the circumstance, isn't it reasonable to—" I closed my mouth as I caught up with her realization. "Okay. Okay I guess that makes sense. So we don't tell the cops."

"Not yet, anyhow. We need to have a plan." She sat down on the bed, hand on her chin. "What did you talk about with Red Eagle yesterday?"

"He wanted me to help him articulate why this whole business of brainwashing people was unsustainable and cruel to the heroes, in my capacity as a former patient," I explained, and in the process noticed how alone Red Eagle had to be in his opposition to the situation, if he was coming to me for help.

"And what did you say?"

"...I said I'm okay with it," I told her, and ran a hand through my hair. "I mean, I wouldn't have you, or Valerie, or my job if it wasn't for Epipsyche, I…"

She looked at me and tilted her head. I felt as though I was on trial and I hadn't been informed of the charges.

"What if she just made you think that, though?"

I shrugged. "That's what he said. I called Mom. She, um, corroborated some of my memories from before. I don't know, Durga, I was always angry. What if

Cactus Jacks Tex Mex Grill

My life was fairly simple. I never really asked for much, nor did I expect all that much either. I was freelancing as a videographer, and had a steady group of repeat customers. Mostly small businesses who wanted me to help them put together ads, but they kept me fed. Those small businesses did me a lot of good too. Word of mouth is a hell of a marketing tool, and it had netted me a bunch of repeat customers before. So when I got the call from Cactus Jack’s, I wasn’t exactly surprised.

I’d been out that night meeting a girl I’d been chatting up on OK Cupid. The date had gone well, but I didn’t think I was going to message her again. We hadn’t had much to talk about, which was a shame since she’d seemed like a nice enough girl. Either way. I wasn’t too beat up about it. I rolled myself a joint and took out my cell phone. I’d gotten some emails while I’d been out that I’d chosen to ignore. Sure enough, one of them was from Cactus Jack’s.

Hi Craig,

I’m the owner of a little restaurant down on Burnhamthorpe called Cactus Jack’s Tex-Mex Grill. I got your information from the owner of Risottos. I loved the ad you shot for them, and I wanted to ask about your rates and availability to shoot something similar for us. We are a new business and we’re looking to build awareness of our location. We’d really like to work with you and are willing to work around your schedule.

Best regards

Barry Miller

There was a phone number and an address as well, but I figured it was too late to call the man back. Given my penchant for forgetfulness, I figured it was better to just reply to the email outright. I sent him my rates and the days I was available to shoot. His address was in Mississauga, so I figured it wouldn't be too far of a drive. I remembered the restaurant he’d gotten my contact info from. Risottos was a little Italian place owned by a robust but friendly woman named Sonia. She’d been one of my repeat clients, and I’d always enjoyed working with her. She always gave me a discount on her paninis, and let me tell you that, that woman made one hell of a panini! It was good to know she was getting me new business too… I made a note to throw in something extra for her next time she hired me as a little thank you.

The next day, Barry got back to me. We ended up talking over the phone, and he seemed like a pretty laid back guy. There were no red flags. Some ‘clients’ demanded that I work for free. They promised me exposure, portfolio pieces or tried to h

(F18) I planned to cook together with my friend(M18) and last-minute invited another friend(F18). He said he was ok with it, but he ignored her and was impolite, and I'm confused and annoyed/frustrated as I was trying to help him make friends. I also struggle to reject hanging out with him, PRESSURE

TLDR: I invited my guy friend "Sam "to cook at my place after I cooked at his. He has friend issues so now I'm kind of his only friend willing to hangout with him irl, and I feel pressure to do so despite me actually disliking going out so much. But when I impulse invited my girl friend "Jenna" to help add another person to talk to, he acted very rude to her. He did not even TRY to engage in conversation with her, didnt even speak when alone together, and when I sent them off he instantly put in his earphones and ignored her as they walked for like 10 minutes with her trailing 5 steps behind.

Sorry this is long I feel the need to include all context so I myself can also see the full picture better too

I recently became closer to a guy friend that I'll call Sam whom ive known for years (same highschool never spoke much, but saw each other at family dinners as our older siblings were close friends in highschool). He had some falling outs and drifted away from friends near the end of high school. Then in university, he roomed with his best friend, turns out it was a bad idea, they dont even speak anymore. Now he literally has no close friends or people to hangout with( they keep making excuses).

Out of basically desperation I assume as he has never done so, he asked to hangout with my brother and I by himself without his sister. We exchanged discord and game id and started talking more. We spoke a lot and we even got into some pretty deep and personal topics, basically, we bonded over fucked up families.

Sam craves socialisation due to how isolated hes been. So I was at first confused by why he always wanted to talk to me and game with me. He then asked if I wanted to go on a hike with him. He did not state whether we would be alone or not so I asked who else was coming, he said he hadn't decided yet. The next day he said his friends didn't want to come. I was very suspicious of course (this was before I FULLY understood how little and how distant his friends were now). So after much deliberation as I was scared of making it weird, I decided to ask whether it was a date or not.

I asked if it was a date, and he said " what do you mean by a date lmao, for me a date is just be a chill hangout to get to know each other ". So i said, "do you see this as a date then?". Sam said "Yes but it’s cool if you feel uncomfortable and want to call it off, I wouldn't be upset ". So i said " I'm not really interested in a romantic relationship right now, if that's

I am 35 years old, make $56,000 ($231k combined), live in Seattle, and work in higher ed administration

Note: I was technically supposed to post this earlier this week, but noticed that no one was signed up for today (plus I was super busy earlier), so I'm posting a bit late, under a throwaway account! Fair warning: I'm VERY verbose, so this will be long!

Section One: Assets and Debt

As I mentioned above, I make $56k per year as an administrator in higher education. My husband (K) just got a raise to making $155k per year. He works as a lawyer, has been in the workforce for about 12 years. I won't get into too many details but he works for a small boutique firm, not Biglaw. He also sometimes gets a yearly bonus of around $10k-20k but it's not guaranteed or anything like that. K and I have totally combined finances, so the below numbers are for both of us. I have a humanities PhD but I decided to leave academia and find an alt-ac job. My current position has good work-life balance (I never work past 5 pm), but pays terribly and my university is very badly run. I'm hoping to leave higher education all together in the future and am currently enrolled in a certificate program to try to make a career transition to instructional design.

The big elephant in the room is that my husband, K, makes a lot more money than me. When we first met, he was paying off massive amounts of student loans and making much less, and I was debt free with a lot of savings, so we both spent about the same amount. Now he makes 3x what I make and we are both debt-free, so the difference is much more noticeable. We do argue about money sometimes (more in the past), but the reality is that I have a humanities PhD and will likely never out earn him, and he knew that when I married him, lol. Because of all the labor I do around the house and in our lives to support him as he works a much more intense job, I was very clear that I believed we should split our finances equally as soon as we got married. We don't have separate accounts and we generally check in with one another whenever we are planning to spend more than $100. This system works for us for now.

I also want to address the question about parental or family support. Although I technically paid all of my own bills since I got my Bachelor's degree, my parents supported me a lot by paying for my flights home to visit at Christmas or in the summer as Xmas presents/birthday presents. My parents also paid for my undergraduate degree (and K's parents paid for his undergraduate degree as well). They also gave us about $15k to pay f

[CH150] [PART 2] The Price of Fuller Understanding Can Be Empty Plates [Story/OC]

Huzzah! /u/Black4Mate is back to continue their wonderful contribution to the community, and I hope once again to keep pace! Hopefully I can offer something of an appropriate quality to complement their amazing sketches from the manga. I'm pumped to see just what we'll be treated to! July is shaping up to be a heck of a month, the international release and this! Good news all round!

I've got two to cover so far, and being behind - what better than combining them? As luck has it, they fit perfectly for a story I've had in my head for a while now, so that's what I'm bringing to all of you!

The story below comes inspired by two of Black4Mate's excellent sketches.

This one does have a prequel: [CH135] Fear Not the Assailant's Threats, but the Rescuer's Terms

Anyway, as always, I earnestly welcome feedback. This one is quite long [4700 words!], hopefully with justification. Especially on that note, do let me know if it seems a case of quantity in place of quality. Brevity isn't a great skill of mine, and I really want to make sure these aren't a waste of time to those kind enough to take a look! Please feel free to let me know if you think there's anything to improve or something you didn't like. I really am eager to get feedback on that, so I'm not writing in a vacuum.

I sure hope it's worth the read! But don't spare me, I want to know if it wasn't!

(Sorry about the title. It's 0100 here, and just the worst kind of heat wave. I'm not built for this weather - I'm a canuck. Hopefully the proofing holds, I didn't spot anything egregious.)

[Sorry if this seems kind of roundabout or spammy... not my goal, but for whatever reason I'm unable to set a post-level spoiler on my self-posts. I have some followers, so I'm not going to do that without being able to flag it. This is a temporary workaround. The content is a beastars story, anyway. I'll hopefully get this fixed soon]

Diavolo

##Introduction

Ambience

Diavolo is by far the worst main JoJo villain. Does that mean he deserves to go out this early? Ehhhh, debatable. But I suspect people are gonna be pulling to cut Dio and Kars soon and I’ll be quite upset if that happens before Diavolo. So of course I will make use of this opportunity.

What do we know about Diavolo?

  • He is incredibly paranoid about his identity and will go to extreme lengths to protect anyone from finding out even the slightest bit about him.
  • He believes he is basically a God because of the power that he’s been granted.
  • He also believes that succeeding is his fated destiny and that he will always ‘remain upon the climax’

I could list more things but these are the main 3 traits that define Diavolo’s personality and almost everything he does is motivated by this. You may have already picked up on this, but the above traits each correspond to a defining trait of a better JoJo villain; The first belongs to Kira, the second to Dio, and the third to Pucci. I do not like Diavolo so I will spend some time talking about characters I enjoy more.

##Yoshikage Kira

Kira leads a double life where he tries to keep his serial killer identity hidden at all costs, and goes to some considerable lengths where he’s even prepared to abandon his entire original life in a bodyswap. But the reason why Kira’s meticulousness to protect his identity works is three-fold. First, Killer Queen is not a busted ass stand. It is still pretty strong because of course a main antagonist has to have the menace to back it up, but it’s usecase is definitely situational, which allows for some very entertaining creativity in what Kira has to do to protect his identity. Often-times, he can’t even use his stand despite how close to being found out he may be, which only makes the tension more palpable. I think this is honestly the main reason for why Kira works so well. The other reasons I will next unpack do considerably develop Kira further, but this foundation of limitation is what allows the next traits to build upon him further.

Second, Kira has a strong natural inclination towards killing, it is almost instinctual. This might be a no-brainer as a trait for a serial killer to have, but this presents an incredibly compelling conflict for him. He doesn’t kill for the sake of some agenda, it’s an urge that he can’t always control, and unlike other killers who are content to live lives on the run or in l

Is there a supplement that will help with digestion?

I think I have bad breath. I see many people covering their noses around me when I am close. I look after my teeth well. I have some old fillings from the past that I am not happy about but aside from that I got a clean bill of dental health back in March. I used to have bleeding gums but not any more. I floss every day. I brush my teeth twice a day. I like looking after my teeth. I brush my tongue too.

I think maybe my breath issues is related more to my gut. I don't know but I think it's related to that. I do experience some tummy aches or cramps from time to time but I think it's related to the menstrual cycle. Aside from that other issues that I have is an intense schedule many times. It nearly feels as if I need to pay at least 50 euro to grab myself a meal or 5 minutes break. I have ot written in my job contract about breaks but my contract was broken so many times and it's not even worth the paper it's not. I definitely have digestion issues from my job. There's are times that I would be lucky to grab 5 minutes to eat. There are times when I am literally pulled away. I'm allowed to even digest a meal. Definitely my favourite time of the week is looking forward to the weekend so that I can sit down and enjoy a meal. I spend years rushing meals. I definitely improved since last year. I get up earlier in the morning so that I can cook a breakfast and sit down and enjoy it. Breakfast is usually eggs with vegetables. Lunch is sometimes tuna with cucumber or tuna salad or risotto or soup. I like a yogurt too with blueberries. I like to limit carbs and keep to cleaner carbs from vegetables. I try to avoid the white carbs.

I'm not usually hungry for a big meal in the evening. I have about 1 to 2 cups of coffee a day. I try to keep the coffee between the meals. I drink water after every meal and regularly throughout the day.

I take a lot of supplements too. I start the day with a zinc supplement about an hour before breakfast. Then I take a vitamin C tablet before breakfast. After breakfast I take a cod liver oil capsule and that has vitamin D and Vitamin A. I also take a supplement with calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and K2 at this point too.

Then at night time I take a magnesium bisglyinate tablet before bed. I need them.

I don't think I have any absorption issues because the I used to suffer from leg cramps at night time and since taking magnesium I don't get leg cramps.

Sometimes I also take a probiotic

AITA for not catering to picky eaters at my wedding?

So my mom tends to be very opinionated, and unsurprisingly she has a lot of things to say about my wedding next fall. She's very traditional and likes things to be done a certain way. I've already compromised on a lot to make her happy. She didn't like the style of the wedding dress I originally wanted, so I went with my second choice. She thought our color scheme clashed too much, so I changed one of the colors to something more neutral.

Our caterer offers two choices of meals in their standard wedding package, and we decided to do one meat option and one vegetarian option because some of our friends are vegetarian. If we splurge for a third meal choice it's going to cost us nearly $1,500 more. We're paying for the wedding ourselves and really trying to stay under budget, so we have to stick to two meals.

We sampled a bunch of different entrees during our tasting, and the two dishes we liked the most were the lamb chops and the mushroom risotto. Seriously, it was some of the best food we've ever eaten. It completely blew us away.

When I told my mom we had selected our menu, she immediately said "your aunt X and uncle Y don't like lamb" and tried to get us to swap it out with a more traditional choice like chicken or beef. Apparently my sister's upset too, because she just texted me to tell me she though it was cruel to serve baby animals (she eats meat, for the record, so I don't understand why this is suddenly an issue). I pointed out that we were also having risotto and she texted back "but I hate mushrooms." Like, can't she just pick them off? I don't get it!

Honestly, I've changed so many things about this wedding to try to appease other people, and the food is basically the one thing left that I have any control over. It's also one of the few aspects of the wedding my fiancé cares strongly about, and he really wants to have the lamb chops. I feel like we should be able to serve the food we want at our own wedding.

Spanish dish with prawns and rice

I was once near a town on the eastern beaches of Spain. We stopped at a local fish restaurant and we noticed the town kinda had this traditional dish in most restaurants. It was full of crustaceans, mainly shrimp and it came in a soup/risotto (more wet then dry) and it came in a big bowl usually for two people or more and we kinda served ourselves. It was red/orange in colour and reminds me of a stew/soup. It was local to that area. Any ideas?

What the coronavirus forcing me in lockdown's taught me about cooking; plus, how to make Mantou (馒头)

So there’s an offchance you might recognize my username: I’m the dude that’s posted weekly Chinese recipes here for the last… couple years or so. Together with my fiancé (who’s from Guangdong), we live in Shunde, China – a small city a bit south of Guangzhou on the Macau side of the delta.

I’m sure you’ve been inundated with news about the most recent coronavirus outbreak over on this side of the world – I certainly don’t want to pile on and make you any more anxious than you need to be. That’s not my goal: social media does a good enough job with that as is. It’s just that… I feel like this time’s given me some personal insights on food and cooking that I haven’t really had the chance to internalize in the past. Maybe everything I’m about to write is all obvious to you, I don’t know. But I figured I’d share regardless.

The situation we’ve found ourselves in

See, for the past two weeks or so, the city we live has more or less… shut down. People don’t go outside unless they have to – we take our dog for walks up on the roof of our apartment complex, make quick runs to 7/11 for supplies every two days or so (because I mean… alcohol is pretty much mandatory in a time like this), and… that’s pretty much it. Restaurants are for the most part all closed down. The city is essentially on the economic equivalent of life support – the only things that’re open are convenience stores, grocery stores, and pharmacies. There’s checkpoints and roadblocks entering and leaving the city. Hell, every time we leave or enter our apartment complex we’re checked for symptoms by the doorman. The only people that dare to go outside without a medical mask are those unlucky sods that didn’t get the chance to buy any before supplies ran out.

Now I don’t mean to paint too apocalyptic of a picture here. We live in Shunde, not Wuhan (which’s tragically borne the brunt of all this). A lot of these measures are precautionary, and… you sort of get used to it all. It sucks, no doubt. But it says a lot about human psychology just how quickly a new normal can become… normal.

Feeding yourself is an interesting challenge, however. Completely by happy accident, out of any of our friends or family we’re probably the most prepared for this kind of situation. We do a YouTube cooking thing, after all. We test a lot of recipes. Our cabinets, fridges, freezers are stocked with leftovers, sauces, nuts, dried seafood and mushrooms, frozen meats, pickles, tubers, grains… shit, we could probab

THERE'S NO REAL REASON TO EAT 3 MEALS A DAY

For the first 34 years of my life, I always ate three meals a day. I never thought much about it—the routine was satisfying, it fit easily into my life, and eating three meals a day is just what Americans generally do. By the end of last summer, though, those decades of habit had begun to erode. The time-blindness of working from home and having no social plans left me with no real reason to plod over to my refrigerator at any specific hour of the day. To cope, I did what many Americans have done over the past year: I quasi-purposefully fumbled around for a new routine, and eventually I came up with some weird but workable results—and with Big Meal.

Big Meal is exactly what it sounds like: a meal that is large. It’s also untethered from linear time. Big Meal is not breakfast, lunch, or dinner—social constructs that no longer exist as such in my home—although it could theoretically occur at the traditional time for any of them. Big Meal comes when you’re ready to have it, which is a moment that only you can identify. For me, this is typically in the late afternoon, but sometimes it’s at breakfast. Generally, Big Meal happens once a day.

In the dieting (excuse me, biohacking) trend known as intermittent fasting, people compress their calories into a limited window of hours. But that’s not what Big Meal is at all. It’s not a diet. I snack whenever I feel like it—Triscuits with slices of pepper jack, leftover hummus from the Turkish takeout place that sometimes provides Big Meal, a glob of smooth peanut butter on a spoon. The phrase started as a joke about my inability to explain to a friend why I was making risotto in the middle of the afternoon, or why I didn’t have an answer to “What’s for dinner?” at 6 p.m. beyond “Uh, well, I ate a giant burrito at 11 a.m. and grazed all afternoon, so I think I’m done for the day.” Now I simply say, “It’s time for Big Meal,” or “I already had Big Meal.”

This curious change in my own eating was just the beginning. The pandemic has disrupted nearly every part of daily life, but the effects on how people eat have been particularly acute. Dining closures and weekend boredom have pushed a country of reticent cooks to prepare more of its own meals. Delivery-app middlemen have tightened their grip on the takeout market. Supply shortages have made flour, beans, pasta, and yeast hot commodities. Viral recipes have

Why I like Risotto Nero (an essay)

Why Risotto Nero deserves more love:

This guy IS my comfort charecter, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, as I am probably a lil biased..... VA SPOILER WARNING!! Anyways, lets begin!

Now, There where a lot of memorable characters in golden wind, but I doubt any members of la squadra are the first that come to mind. (unless you are me)

You probably think of the stale protag giorno, or maybe some of his jobros. or perhaps the half/n/half mob boss himself, Diavolo and his subordinate Doppio.

Going back to la-squadra. Their Capo, Risotto, doesnt nearly get all the attention he deserves! In this post, I will be Telling you why I think that Risotto Nero is an amazing charecter.

Story: We cant dive in to a characters actions and personality without looking into what caused said person to do things first. When he was 14, a drunk driver ran over his cousin (who we can assume he was probably close to) killing him. Its not talked about much, but the loss of a family member or loved one can have a huge impact on someone. And his cousin dying in such a horrible way: Its easy to say this was a form of childhood trauma. If we make the assumption (which due to what happened next, is probably true.) That Risotto WAS close with his cousin, he has every reason to resent the person responsible, and be mad when he thought that the driver wasnt punished fairly. He wanted vengeance, and rightfully so. (You know what happens after that, Risotto trains to become an assassin and kills the dude and joins passione.) But, yet another traumatic incident occurs. When you work with people for quite some time (about, 6 years?) you would obviously grow a strong bond/friendship with them. This obviously being the case for Sorbet and Gelato. (I probably spelled their names wrong) So when they where killed, and their literal body parts chopped up in pieces where shipped to the la squadra base, needless to say this was traumatizing, and angered Risotto. But also probably scared him too in the way that this could happen to the rest of his team. Then, during the time of VA, he finally sees a way to get back at the boss, to kill his own daughter (he obv didnt know thats what he was planning to do anyway-) One by one, his teammates died, and he probably felt extremely guilty. Because what he feared was actually happening. The reason he did all of this was in a form of vengeance, not just to be evil. anyways long story short, he dies. this is a VERY shortened version, but now th

Update: My coworker called me bawling earlier.

You can find my previous post in my profile if you missed it =)

I'm really sick of typing "co-worker" so I'm going to refer to her as G from now on.

So, G got here around 5 on Sunday afternoon and just... To be blunt, she looked like shit. She normally wears make-up at work but rocked up without any on and since I don't wear make-up, I'm oblivious to its magic of hiding things. She had massive dark circles under her eyes, her skin has broken out from the stress and she was so pale I thought she was sick as well as exhausted.

I got her to meet my pets and give them some treats so they'd be comfortable around her and let her know the pantry and fridge were free reign then I asked her if there was anything she needed from the shop. She just started crying again. I'm not a huggy type person, but I gave her a big hug in that moment and guided her to the couch. After she calmed down, she told me that she hadn't expected this and said she was so grateful.

We talked a bit more, mostly me reassuring her it's ok and if I didn't want her here I wouldn't have said yes to her request for help, then worked out what we were gonna do for dinner. I figured carb loaded comfort food was the best option and made my mum's bacon and cheese risotto while G had her first shower longer than 5 minutes in months. My husband got home while I was making dinner (he was out with friends) and after introductions we had dinner. Hubs disappeared to his office for the night to give us space while G and I just chilled out with a movie. G fell asleep during the movie so I gently woke her and showed her to the guest room (this was around 7.30 pm). I stayed up a while longer in case G needed anything then went to bed as well.

Next morning, I woke up around 8 and quietly did my own thing till G came out of the guest room at around midday. She didn't realise she'd slept for nearly 17 hours and was mortified, but she looked so much better. She still had the dark circles and blemishes, but she also just looked less stressed. She thanked me again and said she'd pay for lunch as a thank you, which I didn't let her do. I picked up some burgers from a really good local greasy spoon so she didn't have to get out of her PJs and when I got home, she was throwing the ball for my dog. This was awesome to me cos my dog can be anxious and usually takes a lot of time to trust people, which I had told G, so I was happy to see him warm up to her so quickly. G was giving my dog scritches and laughing and I r

[Report] 7 days in Northern Italy.

A while ago I made a post with a title like "7-10 days trip in Northern Italy". Here's my report. Be prepared, it's long. I'll start with what I saw and did, then will do a small part on my mood and mental health during th e trip.

First, thank you all for the advices. I'm still in the trip, but have only one day left which will be for chilling and no intense visiting.

Also, it's Italy. It's always a good idea to go to Italy.

My initial plan was : Milan - Lake como - Bergamo - Lake Garda - Lake iseo.

MILAN

I started with 2 days in Milan. I have friends there, so it was an obvious staring point. My Italian friends there don't like the city, but I quite enjoyed it. I have to admit that for once, the covid situation is making things better as there are less tourists, and hotel prices are lower. I stayed at the hotel Flora near the central station. 55€/night. Not good, not bad. OK for solo. I really enjoyed the city. The architecture, the different neighbourhoods, the people,... Really loved it (my feet after 26km,a bit less). I saw the Duomo of course, which was pretty much empty. Really impressing, and the galleries near it as well. I did pretty much all the Da Vinci museums / places, except the church with the last supper, as it was closed for the afternoon (?!). I also did a lot of churches, parks, places, the Milan University (where you can have beers every night right in front the beautiful main building), etc. I spent the last evening in the navigli area, with a beautiful sunset over the river and the colorfull bars and restaurants. I then moved to Lake Como.

LAKE COMO

I had booked 2 nights in Bellagio, at the hotel Fioroni. Around 65€/night, family run. Really nice place, had a double room for myself with a tiny balcony, absolutely stunning view on the mountains, could see a bit of the lake on my left. Just imagine, waking up, having the sunrise on the yellow houses and the lush green mountains, with an absolute silence. Paradise. Good breakfast too and free parking. 15 minutes walk from the city center, either by following the road with view on the lake, or from inside the village, which makes you arrive on the other side of bellagio. This city/village is really really great and beautiful. More tourists than in Milan though, on a Sunday evening. The Monday was totally empty. Amazing food, stunning view on the lake.

For food, try the enoteca cava turaciolo. Simple and good set of cheese and ham, but it's

Ranking Every Season of Hell's Kitchen (Number 19)

A couple of the seasons I rank above it may be more difficult to watch for their relatively over-the-top negative energy, but the season I have ranked in dead last has not just negative energy, but also little energy with what may feel like nothing to talk about, but I sure found things to discuss in this entry on the list.

Season 11

There are only two particular services from this season that I can remember. The first one was the service from Episode 2 (well, that and the subsequent elimination was the whole episode). It let us know that Gina was slow on her station, Danielle had never worked in a brigade before, Susan took 3.5 minutes to slice lamb in the beginning, Mary had a rocky start, and I haven't even touched upon the blue team. Sebastian acted very unprofessionally by using the names "Mikey Wikey" and more infamously "Zacky Wacky", Dan acted like a douchebag (which would carry over to the rest of the season), Ray tasted the risotto with his finger, and that service was one of the only times Jon had a subpar performance. The second one was the service in Episode 13. That was nothing if not an absolute hot mess, but at least it was memorable.

Other than that, the rest of the episodes were overall forgettable. One thing I cannot forget now that I've done a bit more research was how many episodes ended in cliffhangers (9-10). While some of them were put to good use, particularly for revealing afterward that Chef Ramsay would put the four chefs without jackets at the same time (Dan, Nedra, Ray, and Mary) on probation, others felt like a total cop-out, such as the elimination of only one more contestant or, even worse, Chef Ramsay telling a contestant to "wake up". There were even two gaps of three episodes without cliffhangers (Episodes 5-7 and 20-22), and each string is 2 hours of episodes just waiting for Hell's Kitchen not to end on a cliffhanger. Do you know what else is 2 hours? Waiting for only one of the final 5 contestants to get eliminated!

Speaking of the contestants, the red team doesn't stand out to me because its members never really had any particularly weak links to expose aside from Gina and Danielle considering the team's near-perfect challenge record (another reason the episodes got tiring to watch), although Mary does make for a great comeback story. I could never tell the difference between Jessica and Susan, but that problem faded away ever since Jessica got eliminated. Let's not forget that Susan took forever to figure out

The Death of an Ambulance Chaser

Part 1 Part 2

Rich like they sent me down a street where the smallest place you’ll p

Jacob's HK S21, E6: Penelope Pitstop and the Ghastly Garnish Station

Previously on Hell's Kitchen:

The chefs were tasked with recreating past childhood dishes, even if some of them seemed a little strange. It was close all the way but in the end, Annie upset Val and gave the red team their first challenge win in a while.

At the special family night dinner service, Gianna, Sabrina and Melissa all failed to communicate and when Melissa tried to sabotage her station partner, Ramsay had seen enough. The blue team wasn’t much better as Jack floundered on the meat station and Troy had a complete meltdown.

Both teams had to nominate two chefs and in the end, it was Sabrina who didn’t have the fight back to become head chef of the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

And now, the continuation of Hell's Kitchen...

After Elimination:

Relieved after surviving another elimination, Troy crashes onto a chair by the table, finding Elizabeth on the other side. She asks if Troy’s alright, but he feels ‘fan-fricking-tastic’.

(CONF 1)

Elizabeth: Troy is a complete hothead, he has no respect for others and to himself. How he got a job in the culinary world, I have no idea.

—-

The two decide to talk about their respective teams, Troy bringing up Jack and Zachary as potential weak links.

(CONF 2)

Troy: I know Elizabeth is kind of stuck up but at this point, I need all the allies I can get.

—-

Elizabeth admits that her team is kind of a mess right now, but she’s confident that the two weakest chefs are Gianna and Penelope.

(CONF 3)

Elizabeth: I’m still not convinced with Penelope. She comes off as a twenty-seven year old who's going on seventeen with how she acts. I don’t think she’s got what it takes.

—-

Elizabeth explains to Troy that Penelope is all over the place in service and struggles to keep her emotions in check, bringing up the rants against Linda and Wylie. Troy listens on, interested by what he hears.

(CONF 4)

Troy: Elizabeth seems to know a lot about everything going on with the red team. Unsurprisingly, it’s a mess.

—-

Elizabeth then mentions the romance between Penelope and Jack, feeling it may play a part in the two self-destructing.

Speaking of them, Penelope and Jack lay on the couch, Penelope snuggling close to Jack.

(CONF 5)

Penelope: Jack’s a sweet guy. I can talk to him about anything and he’ll understand. Plus, he’s like an overstuffed teddy bear.

—-

Penelope: Has anyone ever told you how soft your chest is?

Jack: That a good thing?

Penelope: Mhm.

—-

Woke up yesterday and decided to change

I've been very worried about my ex since he broke up with me nearly 3 months ago.

He has really been struggling with his depression and a thyroid condition, and the pandemic hasn't helped. Cutting me out, and his family, has been a way of dealing with it for him.

Throughout all this time I hung on. I wanted to make him better and let him know I'm here for him.

I found out last week he's had an actual breakdown and been signed off work (he told me this himself), and although I am worried about him and I just want him to be better, something seems to have clicked inside me.

I don't know if it's the medical official-ness of it, but I just feel like it's confirmation that it's nothing I did wrong, it wasn't our relationship, it was within him. I'm sad for him and I want to be there, but he's made it clear he's not wanting to speak to anyone about it. If he's coming back, it's better for me if he's worked on himself and made himself better. He needs to want it for himself. He knows I am here if he needs me.

So, after 3 months of gaining loads of weight, sitting on the sofa, not cooking (which I love), not eating healthily (which I love and is good for my mental health), shirking work (unlike me, I love my job), and crying all the time - yesterday I got up, did my skin care, cooked 3 healthy meals and washed up and cleaned the kitchen after each one, did about 3/4 of a day of work, had a bath, did my evening skin care and went to bed after 9pm (I've been getting into bed around 7/8).

It's a slow start, but I'm up and at my desk and ready to meet my deadlines today again. I'm tracking my calories, the flat is tidy and the kitten (our kitten) is happy and groomed.

Even last night, I made a risotto, something I kept promising to make for him but never got round to, and I REALLY wanted to text him and tell him how sad it made me, but I didn't!

It's baby steps, but I've got this. After all, if I am expecting him to take care of himself, I should be doing the same for me, right? (Whether he comes back or not)

today i tried something that i knew would trigger me

(tw for domestic violence and sexual abuse)

this is my first time posting here but i thought i would give it a try as i just wanted to vent this today. a few years ago i was in an abusive relationship, i’m safe and recovering now but it still hangs over me constantly. i was recently diagnosed with ptsd because of this past abuse and childhood abuse also. i’m 18 but still living with my mum at the moment until i go to uni, and although i appreciate her a lot, we don’t get along at the best of times. so i tend to just let her and my stepdad say/do what they want without retaliation or question to keep the peace. and that kinda went against me tonight.

i really don’t like risotto. it’s something that is almost fully attached to a very specific flashback i have of one night when the abuse was nearing its worst. and when she said we were having it for dinner i didn’t really know what to say. i didn’t want to bring it up because i didnt know how she would react, as she doesn’t like my ptsd diagnosis and has never really accepted what happened to me. so i just thought i could suck it up. spoiler: i couldn’t. it was on my mind all day. i haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and i kept reliving that violent dinner a few years ago.

and about 20 minutes ago i ate the risotto. i didn’t enjoy it, i couldn’t. i don’t know if the attachments to it had poisoned my tastebuds as well as my mind but it tasted rancid to me. my mum and stepdad were enjoying it and i felt crazy for hating it so much. but i had this rotten taste in my mouth that matched how i was feeling.

but i did it. i ate as much as i could and then i stopped, before i pushed myself too far. and i feel better for doing it. i feel like i’ve got something back.

Cosmonaut's Jojo's Video is kinda Wack

Also Part 3 I feel has so many fun fights that are really different from each other to like Ebony Devil's clash with Polnareff, Hanged Man, Death 13, and most of the Egyptian Gods were fantastic like both Darbys, Pet Shop, Bastet and Geb.
