“Whispered gifts are promised blades that twist. A liar’s game.”
Has this been evaluated?
On July 17, 1918 the Romanovs were murdered in Yekaterinburg at a basement along with four royal assistants by the Bolsheviks. They were buried next to a road in an unmarked grave but two of the children were taken some feet away to confuse investigators.
But since the Soviets were known for their propaganda and deceptions, people where very skeptical about the assassinations. This gave rise to theories about the escape of certain members of the royal family like Maria, Alexei, but mostly importantly, Anastasia.
Many people claimed to be members of the royal family among which Anna Anderson stood out stating that she was Anastasia. Anna became very famous in the world and was almost a celebrity. Many believed her faithfully but others stated she was a con and a liar. Nevertheless, for nearly 40 years, her popularity skyrocketed.
However, the mystery was partially solved in 1979 when the bodies were found in the area in Yekaterinburg. But given that the Soviet Union was still in powe... keep reading on reddit ➡
First, credit to [David Ellis Dickerson] for his awesome riddles that I have modified to create different puzzles.
The "lost ancient culture" of my world did not use much magic in the typical sense, so I like the doors and various contraptions in their ruined edifices to function without the need for magic and have some plausible mechanical explanation. So I try to work that into the design.
I should also note that some of these are pretty damn difficult, and that's why I had a variety of hints to be found in the area or gleaned through skill checks. I also will generally use these for optional rooms/bonus loot.

"Potter's done it again." Severus Snape said with a sour scowl.
Severus complaining about the elder Potter boy was nothing new since he started this year. Rest of the professors at the monthly meeting just groaned.
"Would you care to enlighten the rest of us what Mr. Potter did again Severus," Albus Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eyes.
"While helping a fifth-year student Mr. Potter seems to have discovered a new way to brew the Polyjuice Potion," Pomona Sprout interrupted Severus, her voice filled with pride. "His method seems to use some exotic ingredients, but it completely eleminates the month-long wait for the potion to stew."
"Yes, yes. The boy found a way to improve a potion that has potion masters throughout the world thoroughly frustrated with dumb luck. Dumb luck, that's all it was." The potion master's scowl deepened even further.
"And what did our young prodigy had to say about the incident?" Filius Flitwick asked excitedly. He was always looking forward to ha... keep reading on reddit ➡

I made an online puzzle/riddle/arg/escape room thing.
I've posted this in many discord servers and the vast majority are stuck on stage 2, one is on stage 4, and there is one literal genius who solved the whole thing solo.
Do you guys think you have a chance at solving this?

I'm something you might do
with your favorite song
Some mark progress with my hue
To show how far they've come along!
I'll be with you when you drive
Below me, nothing's fair
I don't want anyone alive
To see your funky underwear!
A handful of friends gather about
Each unique in how they act
One's always quick to point things out
One makes a friendly pact
One curses with every single move,
He's the biggest and most blunt
One likes to approve or disapprove,
He's a judgy little runt
The last arrives and the tallest swears
(For he is always swearing)
They look aghast at what the last wears
What was the last one wearing?
From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
> Matt Riddle has an accusation of a sexual assault against him by female wrestler Candy Cartwright from May 2018 several years back in Evolve in a van that a group traveled together in where other people were there but the claim is they were asleep when this happened. The accusation surfaced publicly on 6/19, the day the A.J. Styles vs. Riddle match was to air. WWE aired the match with Riddle winning a non-title match in his Smackdown debut. We’ve been told WWE has been aware of the claim by Cartwright for more than a year and investigated it.

I am currently writing my very first one shot for the group I'm normally a player in and need some help. (If you're Sable, Squid, Wiggin & Co please stop reading :D)
So I wrote this riddle, but I feel like it is a bit too easy. The players need to find a magical artifact and they will only get it if they solve the riddle, so I didn't want to make it too hard but I feel like the answer to the one I came up with is a bit obvious. What do y'all think?
Metal to rust and stone to sand
Heroes fall under the touch of my hand
Wood to dust and water to land
I have no beginning and have no end
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: Thanks for all the comments! I decided to mix it up a bit so now it goes like this: "Wood to dust and water to land/ heroes fall under the touch of my hand/ iron to rust and stone to sand/ Don't know love, hate or lust, bu... keep reading on reddit ➡
#The Arcane Vault This large bank vault with a vault door of impenetrable iron and with stone walls three feet thick may house the phylactery of a powerful lich, the treasure of a college of archmages or the riches of a great sorcerer. For something more exotic, perhaps this puzzle could be placed inside the lair of a cryptic sphinx, a teasing archfey or an inquisitive dragon.
This puzzle focuses on your players using their magical abilities to unlock the solution. It is most likely that a party will be casting these spells using their own spellcasting ability, but there is also the possibility of using magic items (which can be strategically place throughout the dungeon to ensure that a solution is possible for any party).
I featured this puzzle inside a sorcerer’s lair at the top of his sorcery fortress within a dragonborn city. I originally ran it at the start of 2019 but figure it was worth sharing here too. My players enjoyed it, I enjoyed designing and running it, and I hope yo... keep reading on reddit ➡
I’ve resorted to just taking them off and now I walk round the shop squinting like Mr Magoo.
I'm known to take on many forms
Through common tongue and turn of phrase
Sometimes I render you speechless
Sometimes I rob you between days
In one form I will mimic you
Another and with ease I scare
Some think my voice is excellent
And fly, some say, my nighttime wear
You'll regret letting me escape
For once you do I shan't return
But flay me and the choice is yours
Your back, to me, don't ever turn
The Dwemer still have alot about them that we don't know but one thing that always made me curious was why blind the Falmer? To us eye sight is a big deal, most people wouldnt trade their sight for anything. So it makes sense the snow elves did it only to avoid going extinct. But after I saw the tablet in Markarth it finally dawned on me. Blinding the snow elves was a gift because the Dwemer themselves were blind?
Edited because I cannot spell Dwemer.
Just want to check how solvable this riddle is. Comment your answers and if you can't solve it please say:
I have 2 bleeding hearts though I never die
As my blood flows you lose time
Examine my foot and blood flows to my head,
But look at my head and it dies instead
Edit: Thanks everyone for all the contributions, this is the most attention any of my posts has ever received!
The impression I got is that it is quite easy unless you take it too literally. However, many have rightly pointed out that riddles are much harder in a play context. Most people say that the give away is time, so I'm going to leave it out, but I am sort of going to include a reference to time.
So the edited version is:
I have two bleeding hearts though I never die
To stop the blood on my side I lie
Examine my foot and blood flows to my head,
But look at my skull and it empties instead
As I bleed and one heart runs dry
You watch hours of your life fly by
Only read this next part once you've so... keep reading on reddit ➡
I am something; you surely know
Care for me well, and I will grow
In summer my brood; they spread around
And just like you, in water I drown
Cos I need oxygen; I need air
Meat and vegs too, I don’t really care
Yes give me food, and I shall thrive
And yet surprise, I’m not alive
What am I?
(Also this is the first riddle I ever made, so apologies if it's not that good!)

Please feel free to come visit my island and spend some time in my Wizarding World themed island. You’ll arrive in the Leaky Cauldron on the corner of a London street, go through the pub into Diagon Alley! Then jump on board the Hogwarts Express (best take a run at the platform if you’re nervous!) and visit the many sites that Hogwarts and Hogsmeade has to offer! The island is designed to show you as many many scenes and references I could fit in from the books and films. My personal favourite areas are Hagrid’s Hut (don’t forget to follow the spiders), the Deathly Hallows campsite, and the cosy Gryffindor Common Room. With tonnes more areas to discover, hopefully you’ll find some Easter eggs or references you’ll be able to recognise and enjoy!
Please let me know your thoughts and if you enjoyed!
I stop for light but do not stop for sound, who am I?
You know the one. We all know the one. Stop it.
You move your arm, I do it back You move your leg, I do it again You closed your eyes, but I didn’t do it Who am I?
Cast your preconceptions away and see the forest for the trees.
it may seem bleak and greener pastures may be miles away.
but big treasures await those who crack the code,
just splash down and face the cold.
Through sleepless days, you must look
for the home of eagles and a fake search.
if you succeed you, you'll be over the moon
you'll have a new toy that you can play with real soon.
Hint: The solution is a place in the U.S. State/city/monument/building/bridge etc.
>Have the party lost in a labyrinth forest
>Wizard finds a small clue, arcane writing that says "Once all is laid bare, the path shall also be laid bare."
>The party had been hiding a lot of secrets from each other, so I had wanted to have a little bit of an RP session where the party clears the air with each other
>Wizard immediately shouts that the party needs to get naked
>No questions asked, the party strips and starts taunting the forest and waggling their bits
>Realize its all my fault as I have the wizard recheck the writing and wipe away a smudge so it says "When the truth is laid bare..."
I'm a what and a where,
An act and a place to be.
I sound like the things you wear,
I'll make your eyes not see.

It's winter in Australia as a Victorian man attempts to cross the South Australian border. He's managed to get a SA numberplate, fake ID and has forged the government documents required to enter the state. He takes a dirt road through a family friend's farm to enter into the state and finally makes it onto the highway to Adelaide.
Suddently, flashing lights pull him over -- through the dirt road one of his taillights broke. The man acts cool as the policewoman looks into the cabin to talk to him, but to his relief she doesn't ask for any documents or run his car registration.
However, unbeknownst to the man, the policewoman is suspicious, and asks him to get out of the car. The man complies as the woman asks him to touch his nose with each hand as he stands on one leg.
After this test the policewoman immediately puts the man under arrest for illegally entering the state.
What made the policewoman suspicious and arrest the man?

Tom Riddle sat quietly reading the newspaper with his parents in the study. It was a comfortable room, as it should be. Their house was the finest in the village. He remembered the tiny shack he and his wife shared for that brief time. He still could never understand why he suddenly went and married her. It was like a dream or a daze. Maybe he suffered a bout of insanity.
He turned another page of the newspaper.
And then she said she was pregnant with his baby. He remembered vaguely being happy. Then he woke up. His mind was suddenly clear. He felt nothing but revolution for her. She said that she was a witch and used a love potion to make him love her. He couldn't believe how insane she was. A love potion? Nothing like that exsisted. Magic didn't exist. She was mad. Just like her whole disgusting family. She cried and begged him to stay as he packed his bags to leave. She begged him to stay for the baby. The baby he was entirely convinced wasn't his. She cried and cried. But h... keep reading on reddit ➡

For those of you who don't know, Mr. Beast is a youtube celebrity that is known for creating wacky challenges and giving away millions of dollars worth of prizes. Everything from "Last person to take their hand of of this $1,000,000 stack of cash gets to keep it" to giving away houses and Lamborghinis..
Somebody posted a few days back that Mr. Beast had spent months creating what he believed to be the "World's Hardest Riddle", containing 26 separate parts, and he offered $100,000 to the first person who could solve it. Link: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZDUxJ-7Y4A&feature=youtu.be)
The riddle was solved in less than 8 hours.
Granted, he says a big reason for the person solving it that quickly was the fact that there were hundreds of people working together in discord servers, sharing their solves.
This is just food for thought, and I figured it might give some perspective to the power of "hivemind" here... keep reading on reddit ➡
