Phase 2 is now out. We now know how much shards we can get per run of the salvaging process.
Edit: Miscalculations corrected
Edit: Thank you so much for the awards! I didn't expect that honestly.
Although your profit will be smaller the higher WL you're at, you still gain a ridiculous amount of EXP/Mora for 20 resin.
I'll break this down using World Levels. Each World Level has a max party level so I'll calculate this relative to the maximum amount of shards you can get relative to the party level.
# This is only for the 10k mora for 4 shards, that can only be redeemed 250 times. Same for the Character EXP which can be redeemed 250/150 times (depending on the amount of EXP).
# I'm assuming you will always get the max amount of EXP and Mora for Ley Lines which is highly unrealistic.

You might have seen my last post, where I discussed how the new reward structure should leave me missing about 3,000 gold per expansion cycle. As it turns out, the new reward structure is worse than the original estimate I had for it.
The reason is simple: I had estimated that I'd earn 400 XP per hour of play time. That much is roughly true. However that 400 figure refers to in-match time. When I stream for 5 hours during the day, not all those hours are spent in game. Some are spent waiting for a match.
As it turns out, this matters a lot. I tracked my XP today and, after 5 hours, I earned 1,544 XP. That's almost 25% less than I estimated using the 400 XP/HR estimate we got from the devs.

All i got was around 1700 - 1800xp...i need 400 more to get 100gold? Is this a joke? I need to play this game for 7-8 hours each day to earn gold for a single card pack?
I was under impression that new system was going to give us more gold and rewards than ever before? In old system i could EASILY earn 100gold in 3-4 hours of gameplay, not counting the daily quest gold.
This new system feels like there is no progression at all. If this is how it is supposed to be, i see no reason to continue playing.
Am i doing something wrong or is the new reward system absolute garbage?
EDIT: Thank you for Gold/silver, kind redditors. Also, i want to adress the 100g in 3~4 hours i wrote. I play mostly wild, and when i said i could get 100g in that time, i was saying that playing some wild aggro decks like token druid could easily earn me that gold in 4hours since people or me are likely to concede by turn 3 or 4 depending on board state. I do not play aggro decks 100% of the time, but if i w... keep reading on reddit ➡
First of all, English is not my first language, so I apologize for my grammar in advance.
There are many topics on this subject, but I feel the need to be vocal about it, because this is something that concerns us all, and at this point we cannot remain silent.
We were told and assured from Dean Ayala that "the gold you earn per expansion should remain relatively flat from what you earn now. This should make your ability to buy packs on day 1 similar to what you get now, but with more non-gold rewards added on top." (source)
This simply is not true. The amount of gold gained through the expansion cycle shrinks in my case approximately by 22% from 7900 to 6150 gold. This feels horrible. The table looks like this (considering playing 0.5 hour a day with average - deck 10 minute games, win rate 55% - completing all quests):

Edit: I want to start this post off by saying VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS, if you haven’t purchased the pass yet do not buy it unless if you believe you can finish it within the 88 days of this season with the new system (might even get reduced who knows). And if you have purchased the battlepass warn your friends, and attempt to request a refund.
Edit 2: gonna add another edit here I understand that this isn’t a hot take anymore, I wrote this before this topic blew up. So Please stop flooding my inbox saying that this isn’t a hot take since the whole sub is chanting it.
Normally around this time I would already be rank 5 and by the end of the day I would be around rank 15-20.
Now with this new system every 10k xp you require translates into a Star and you need *10 stars to get a tier.. That’s not even mentioning how we don’t have the weekly challenges anymore that reward you 2 BP tier for completing 10 dailies.
The amount of grind you’re going to have to put into this game to comple... keep reading on reddit ➡
I don't know about you, but ever since it was suggested a few months ago that Hearthstone might be moving to a battlepass-esque rewards system I've been skeptical if it would be good for players. Blizzard has claimed that the new system will be as good or better for most players, so I'm here today to test those claims. In this post I am going to compare the new system to the old system to see if it truly is better for players.
First, a little about me and how I have played the game. I first played Hearthstone when it came out, but then moved overseas and missed out on the first couple years of content. I started playing consistently around Un'Goro and have not missed a daily quest since. I have only spent money on packs twice (Kobolds preorder and Witchwood preorder), but I have always been able to muster a pretty robust collection. I use dust wisely and I only spend gold right when an expansion comes out, saving up everything in between expansions.
Since Boomsday I have averaged ar... keep reading on reddit ➡

low effort meme by me
I know there were plenty of posts about this very topic, however I believe, no matter how many times this was posted before, we should keep on going. It's certenly more useful than flooding this subreddit with memes & fanart and can potentially provoke a response from the developers. The goal of this post is to list all major recurring sources of gems, put those numbers into perspective and shed light on ungly, predatory nature of GI. And inform newcommers what they are getting themselves into
What exactly new players are getting themselves into?
Game that's from its core was designed to extract as much money from players as possible. Gacha is predatory by nature, it exploits human psychology for the gain of tycoons in the glass towers. Gacha is crippling to a game, but unlike other games in this genre, here it is even more apparent. Most mechanics that are tied to a player progression... keep reading on reddit ➡
Right now, Strongbox rewards are fairly underwhelming - it would make a lot of sense to update them to include other league content in the same fashion that Heists' reward's chests reward previous league's content. e.g. greatly reduce the rarity of the boring regular strongboxes, but add additional types of strongboxes like Breach, Legion, Fragments, Metamorph, Delerium, Jewels, ect. to maps.
It would also be great if the %chance to find strongboxes in maps go up. I'm not saying we add 3-5 to every map, but it would be interesting to see how that affects the long term Economy, as Ambush went core over 6 years ago and deserves to be revisited eventually.
Self explanatory title. MiHoyo is treating "Seize the Day" as this special reward to players when if you have experience with Gacha games, the rewards there are the bare minimum login rewards players should get on a daily basis. So I'm baffled why it's an on-off thing when it should be a baseline thing for the game, and should drive players to play more consistently along with the daily quests / resin system.
