No real context given, just that Jenkins is starting over Alphari for at least week 1. Very strange, given that Alphari was the best top laner in the league last split. No idea what's going on with TL, but I know Kobe had mentioned hearing some rumors on (I believe) The Dive.
I'm not as knowledgeable on Asia's history/politics but what has East Asia (i.e. Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore (majority are East Asian), Macao, and Urban China) been able to do that the rest of Asia hasn't when it comes to key development metrics like HDI, technology, innovation, commerce, infrastructure, education, health, standard of living, safety, urbanization, eradicating extreme poverty, leisure, general prosperity, and opportunity/mobility?
In fact, East Asia seems to be the only non-Western/new world region in global society that has reached extremely high levels of modern development.
In comparison, Southeast Asia trails behind in all statistics, the Middle East/West Asia is ravaged in war and turmoil, and South Asia is sadly still one of the poorest/underdeveloped areas on Earth.
What have East Asian nations such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Macao, and Urban China been able to do to fully industrialize?
Don’t stop no matter what.
The margin call on GME will result in forced liquidation of entire institutions. These results will cascade, and you know the rocket is lit when you see a 15+ percent drop in all the major indices.
Anything prior to that point is a feint by Citadel and the hedgies.
LeBlanc is a saint. It was obviously an anxious moment for the cast, I don’t blame any of them.
Matt LeBlanc was cool as a cucumber and one by one making the rest of the other five feel comfortable. He United everyone.
He brought Perry over to the set of their old apartment, which Perry said he hadn’t gone to yet
He went and sat next to Courtney on the couch when she hadn’t talked for a little while in the coffee shop
He praised Schwimmer for his comic chops and ways he’d put a scene together
He clearly had the best recollection of the series and it seems like he thinks very fondly of it and his time on it
His anecdotes were surreal and genuinely funny. They got real laughs, not tacked on fake reunion laughs like you see with other reunions
Shoutout to Matt LeBlanc. He seems like a real, awesome dude.
Star Wars, Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy, Alien, Predator. These names are synonymous with sci-fi with their lovable characters, amazing stories, and immersive worlds. Mass Effect is one of those titles that has earned its place in the pantheon of science fiction greats and it is a story that could only be told in a video game. It starts out with a basic enough premise: Humanity is trying to gain a seat on the council and have a greater presence in the known galaxy. Your character Jane or John Shepard is sent on a mission to fend off an attack on a human colony and the result of said missions set off a chain of events that will have you uncovering a conspiracy that could threaten all sentient life. It’s a basic premise, but that’s ok as long as the story keeps the players engage.
What makes Mass Effect a story that could only be told in a video game all comes down to one mechanic: choices. The decisions you make won’t just affect the story, but how humanity is viewed by the other alien races. Given that fact it really adds an extra feeling of pressure that can have you think long and hard about your next course of action. Even the smaller side quest (assignments as they are referred to) could have some minor repercussions in the sequel. Even your character is determined by you. From their gender, appearance, and personality; the choice is all yours. Do you want to be the model soldier and lend a helping hand to everyone who requires one? Or do you want to be the most despicable person alive? I chose the Paragon path with FemShep played masterfully by Jennifer Hale.
However a good story can only get your universe so far. What is most important for any new sci-fi franchise is the lore and mythos. Thankfully BioWare have crafted their own intriguing universe which you can discover by talking to NPC which in turn give you codex entries. The codex entries explain the history and cultures of the many races. Even more importantly is that the races are identifiable and don’t feel generic. When I see the Asari or Turians I know they’re from Mass Effect and not from Star Wars or Marvel. The final important feature are the squad mates. As you spend your time getting to learn about their past you start to form a connection. Maybe even a romantic relationship. Liara was the one who stole my heart and given the fact that I felt she was the one who got fleshed out the most. The weakest companion in my opinion was Kaiden who, while at least has a backstory to giv... keep reading on reddit ➡
