I will keep saying it. Feel free to report any brigaders. And feel free to post any JKR content if it fits the bill. We don't appreciate or accept writers that attempt to invalidate the lives of other women.
Now before you jump on me, this is not an adults can't read YA post. This is a adults who read YA need to remember who YA is for post.
I've been floating around the arc (advanced reader copy) circuit for a while. Read some good stuff, read some bad, read some meh. This past weekend I had the privilege of reading one of the best books I've had the privilege of reading in a long time. YA fantasy that was beautifully written and equal parts dark, funny and suspenseful. The teenaged characters acted authentically like teenagers, which unfortunately is incredibly rare in YA.
Edit: For those who are interested, the book is Remnants of Atonement by G.P McKenna. It doesn't release until October, so likely only available through netgalley, but if you have an account and enjoy ya fantasy, I highly recommend requesting it.
Today I logged on to leave my feedback and thought I would nosey around in the reviews, only for my heart to sink. Everybody seemed to agree the plot was good and the wri... keep reading on reddit ➡

I can only highly recommend to everyone from time to time to put a 3 year or 5 year reminder on top of star citizen topics and discussions you currently have. And oh boy were we optimistic back then.
It put the progress of the last 3 years into a perspective and it is kind of a bummer. Many issues and missing loops which were expected to come years ago are still at the same state as back then.
Ofc I could list dozens of new ship instrument overhauls and the fifth change of the flight model. But the bigger gameplay elements like fuelling, salvaging, pvp bounty hunting in prison pods, base building, etc. Etc. Etc. Are still as far away as 3 years ago.
Make yourself a reminder from time to time and come back in a couple of years to see if it changed. Helps to give youself some objectivity. Good or bad.
I met this cool guy about a month ago and we'd gone on a few dates, enough to get my hopes up and feel invested in what could be. But I’m getting the less frequent messages, "sorry I thought I responded" bs, and "idk what my schedule looks like" excuse. I tried to justify it like maybe he's super busy or maybe he's trying not to be "too available". But I know the mixed signals = no. He would take a minute from his day to respond to my text if he was interested. He would find a time to hang out if he was interested. He's not interested.
If there's one thing I've learned, trust your gut. ESPECIALLY when it's telling you what you don't want to hear. When something feels off or different, it usually is. There have been multiple times that I've gone to my friends upset because I have a "gut feeling" something is off with a guy and they try to reassure me (being good friends) that I'm overthinking it, but then it turns out I was right. Listen to your gut!

We, the community, constantly criticize the lack of new talent and player base of NA servers, but it's a problem that Riot created and perpetuates by repeatedly failing to appropriately market LoL to kids.
Scholastic sports and competitions pave the way for kids to learn and develop their passion and skills for these activities. Esports has yet to appropriately tap into this same sphere, and attempts like Riot's completely undermine the current ecosystem in place: https://watch.lolesports.com/article/na-lol-scholastic-guidelines-update/blt68819a9891f32527
Riot is trying to force high school's into pay-to-play PlayVS, the short & free national NASEF, or 14 day tournaments with no more than 16 schools. This makes it impossible for schools to form state leagues that properly mirror and use the existing conferences and divisions in their traditional sport or non-athletic competitions. To those that don't know what drops are:
Drops are little rewards that were supposed to drop while watching LCS games.
They were supposed to be enabled in the 3rd week, that means on the 26th last month.
On the 25th last month we were informed through a Twitter account that not everyone follows or reads that they weren't ready for the following weekend. It is now way past that and we haven't heard or read about it in any way. Unless another less known Twitter account tweeted about it.
I know that you are usually not supposed to complain about "free" stuff but hyping up the community about them and then staying nearly completely silent is just bad practice.
I also put free in quotation marks because they wouldn't do it if it wasn't beneficial for them. Drops mean higher viewer numbers and thus more money from sponsors.
I was already disappointed that the highest of the 4 drop rarities might only reward you with champion shards or clash tickets. I shudder to imagine what the lo... keep reading on reddit ➡
Don't give your money to the cancers living from our community.
There are a lot of super good guys who do great things. You don't need to give your money to the black sheeps who promote racist discourses, anti-science conspiracy theories and other uneducated dumb messages.
Some of these people are super good at bjj and excellent instructors/competitors, they don't merit our money. We can still study them without giving them money. It's the only way they can be "punished". Hit them where it's hard and maybe they will be able to keep their dumb s*** for themselves in the future.
That all it takes is that one special person to see that glow in you that no one else did and take a chance.
Hang in there friends, we’re all looking for our person just like you. Cheers. 🍻
I see some people posting about their small weddings going on, or honeymoons still happening, etc and it’s met with 90% downvoted and negative comments
I completely understand this if you’re seeing those posts from America, major cities, or other places with high infections. But please consider not all of us ARE in highly infected areas. My city hasn’t had a new case in 3 weeks and can have weddings up to 50 people, so it’s hard to have a wedding with 25 and be met with negativity. Our indoor dining is open, movie theatres, malls etc.
Same with travelling, you may see travelling to France as a honeymoon as a terrible thing but consider it could be possible they’re travelling from a bordering country to a remote cabin/villa etc.
There definitely IS people being irresponsible. But not every wedding happening right now/in the upcoming months is irresponsible. Not to mention - a lot of couples are stuck in contracts with vendors that won’t budge, and could be out 10k+ if they cancel/... keep reading on reddit ➡
If someone is excited about something, and you try to make them feel stupid for being excited about it, you are the worst kind of person.
Cheers to the new season
>"There's enough power that both CPU and GPU can potentially run at their limits of 3.5GHz and 2.23GHz, it isn't the case that the developer has to choose to run one of them slower."
PS5's variable boost clocks are often confused with turbo & boost modes known from PC, tablets, smartphones & co. Then comments like "devs throttle their games because of the temporary boost" or "PS5 is closer to 9TF" or "PS5 has heat issues and sometimes have to throttle down" pop up. However that's pretty contrary to what we already know about PS5.
PS5 is about harmonizing power consumption within it's thermal limits :

The majority of us are currently working remote, and some of our companies have even begun hiring again. With this in mind, it's important to note that written communication is inherently received with a negative bias.
A simple message over Slack, especially to a new employee or employee in training, may be received with a negative tone. For example if a new Associate SWE asks you question and you reply with just a "no" or "ok", it may not be intentional negative but could be read that way.
I've seen this quite a bit with newer SWEs where they start off by asking a lot of questions, but if their mentor is very short with them, the questions start to slow down as they feel like they are negatively responding to them by being short.
Just a simple reminder to us all!
Oh my god my rig sounds so fucking good
edit (to reduce the need for debates):
-this post was brought to you by roundwounds
-roundwound life extension tips (apply some or all): get elixirs, wash hands before playing, wipe down strings after playing, boil dead strings for a brief bonus life
-old roundwounds sound cool in their own way too; similar to but not as cool as flatwounds
-old flats sound sweeet if you’re into it
-almost every well-known player who hasn’t changed their strings in years uses flatwounds
-I don’t know shit about black nylon tapewounds or how they age other than I once put a set on that I think had been dry rotting in an old drawer, unsealed, for 20 years. wasn’t great.
I mean seriously. The last time Rey saw Kylo he was beaten and bloodied with a gunshot wound in his stomach on a snowy planet that blew up moments later meaning that has far as Rey and Leia should know by this point Rey had more or less killed Kylo, Leia’s only son.
So Leia send her son’s killer to retrieve Luke at the end.
Uhh. I guess the Force told Leia that Kylo was alive.
Edit: also how did Leia supposedly know that Rey was Palpatine’s granddaughter?
”Because she could sense it!”
How? She never meet the Emperor so how would she feel his connection to Rey?

Baron's Gaze: Baron Nashor takes 50% REDUCED DAMAGE from the unit that he has most recently basic attacked for 8 seconds
So if there is a Baron call, Tanks/Supports, while it may be important to ward/sweep around the pit, you better consider if your team should melt the Baron asap by tanking its passive.
To High DPS carries,
don't be the 1st to attack Baron don't be the closest one when attacking Baron
I have seen players mismanaging Barons not only in solo que games, but in high stakes Worlds and MSI games as well, which resulted in Baron throws. Good luck
In a thread where someone asked if their Cleric should multiclass in Druid, tons of people said "No way, you can't wear metal armor anymore. Kiss your AC goodbye!". Well, that's not entirely true.
WotC confirmed this was not a hard and fast rule, but flavor baked into the class description. It is ultimately up the the DM if they want to enforce this flavor to fit the setting of their world. Even if so, there may be a significant backstory plot that explains why you can cast Druid spells but wear metal armor.
A good one might be "I used to be a Cleric, but was taught Druidic magic as a favor for helping defend a Druid's grove". I.e. a Cleric/Druid multiclass.
If you or your DM think this is a hard-set requirement for the Druid, that's perfectly fine. Just also realize that heavy armor does not need to be made of metal. Dragon bones, ironwood, or other materials can be made into heavy armor that offers the simil... keep reading on reddit ➡
