Refund policy for pre-orders states that preordered games that have been released are still eligible for a refund, as long as the refund request is submitted within two weeks of the game’s release, and the game has been played for less than two hours.
Despite falling within the prescribed limits, several users (on /r/horizon ) are not being issued refunds since 14 days have elapsed from the date of purchase. I haven't even started downloading the game, nor have I recently refunded a lot of games (Steam displays a different warning if this is the case) so I hope Steam fixes this issue. There might a bug in the way these requests are handled, presumably by a bot.
EDIT: 41 hours have elapsed and Steam has still not responded to my query about the refund. To the people parroting the "You pre-ordered so don't deserve a refund" (as if that even makes sense), I don't pre-order games but bought HZD during summer sale sinc... keep reading on reddit ➡
Had this happen last week.. I ordered Macdonald’s with two fries and only got one of them, when I went Get help>issue with an order>item was missing they just refunded the item that was missing which is fair, but that little thing really annoyed me at the time instead go to Get help>issue with an order>I received the wrong order, to get all your money back (also, they don’t refund the tip when you do this so don’t worry about the delivery person).
They will ask for a picture of the order but since technically the order IS wrong, I don’t see how they can dispute it. They also processed my refund immediately after sending the picture so I don’t even really think they check.
Edit: McDonald’s* :-)
Another edit: do EVERYTHING you can to put blame on the restaurant. Also do not do this with small local restaurants, do it to big corporations and make it clear that the restaurant forgot to pack something and that the seal they put on was intact.
I have bought for over 500$ worth of games in Origin, and they are refusing to refund me ONE time for ONE game.
The kicker? They refuse to refund me after 1 hour with their customer support, because their game just doesn't work (It says a generic Origin error code when I launch the game).
I've learned my lesson with EA. Never again I'm buying a game from them.
EDIT: Thanks for blowing this up guys. Fuck EA. Don't buy their shitty games. Pmme if you need help downloading [Something], I will help you and guide you to download any [Something] you need. I will also constantly seed [Something] from now on. Fuck EA.
EDIT2: Changed Linux OS for [Something]. Tell me mods if it's not allowed, I'll remove it.
Exactly one year ago Riot announced Little Legends for TFT and ARAM.
Little Legends are the cutest darn critters in all of League (sorry poros). They’re a highly-expressive and diverse bunch that’ll function as your avatar in Teamfight Tactics and cheer you on in ARAMs.
Only few days ago they announced the removal of Little Legends from ARAM due to visual clarity issues which can be found here: QUICK LOL THOUGHTS: JUNE 19
So what does it mean for us ARAM players who bought Little Legends in intention to use them in ARAM?
There is nothing we can currently do, there will be refunds but only in one condition:
Refunds will be applied to accounts that own LLs but have never played TFT. It doesn't look at specific LL usage, it's an account-level "TFT yes/no" flag.
And just to confirm i contacted Riot Support... keep reading on reddit ➡
We were supposed to have a wedding in October, but felt it wouldn’t be responsible because of the ‘Rona, so we eloped instead with only our parents in attendance. We Made sure everything the wedding party bought could be returned beforehand. When we told our wedding party about the cancellation, everyone was supportive.
Except one bridesmaid who (used to be) my husband’s friend. She went ballistic. Had her husband message mine telling him he made a massive mistake, messaged me calling me horrible names and making threats, demanding we pay her cash for her dress. We told her the bridal shop was doing refunds and bending their return policy because of current situations but she is DEMANDING money. She’s nicer to my husband than she is to me, but he told her that 1. The dress can be returned and he doesn’t want her screwing him over and turning a profit on our wedding being cancelled and 2. He really didn’t want any more contact with her because she was being so hateful towards his wife... keep reading on reddit ➡
We had four tickets from LAX to Montreal scheduled to fly late April. Of course the border closed to nonessential travel mid-March and all the flights were canceled. The airline gave a travel credit to be used before February 2021 (a year from original booking) AND a change fee of $800. Obviously that was not at all reasonable. Went through a very useless exchange with our travel insurance over several weeks, then finally went directly to the airline. They had an online refund request form, which purported to be overwhelmed and threatened to take 21 days. Got an email denial within 24 hours with no specific explanation.
i decided to call the airline directly to ask them why my refund request did not meet their eligibility requirements, and patiently explained exactly the same reasons I thought it did, exactly as I entered into their online form. 20 minutes later, the representative informed me my refund was approved. I got email confirmation and am now just waiting for the credits to... keep reading on reddit ➡

I used to be an operations manager for a top 20 bank in the states. I've moved on but for a while the job entailed speaking with customers who were very difficult.
So I get this call center rep who escalated the call to me and she's sobbing. This guy is beyond cruel.
He has $140 in overdraft fees in 3 days rebated to him. He now has $70 more applied to the account today. This guy has been a customer a whopping 2 weeks, so no, no one's giving him any more money.
Hence, he threatens to sue, so I get to talk to him.
Now, I'm a sensible guy, and I'd like to believe a good person. Single mom? You're getting your fees back. Going through chemo? You're getting your fees back. Hell, if you're a broke college kid, and you tell me you just need the money back so you can eat? You're getting your money back. But this dude was a miserable piece of garbage and absolutely brutal in his insults. He gets on the line and doesn't even bother with any pleasantries.

I work at an independent lingerie/alternative clothing store in a large city. Because we're independent and our items are of an intimate nature, there is a no returns, no exchanges policy. Occasionally managers will make exceptions but us regular employees don't have that power.
Today is my manager's day off so when a customer called and angrily told me that the item she bought was defective, I had her email a photo in so I could have a manager look at it but assured her it wouldn't be a problem. Fortunately this corresponded with our web/tech manager coming in and he gave me permission to refund her. Unfortunately she was already on her way by the time I called her back and she was pissed.
She arrived steaming mad and already spouting angry threats and rude comments ("Everything in this store is defective!") but I just kept apologizing and started the refund, only for my card machine to refuse to do it. As per Steam's policy you are eligible for refunds as long as you have
>REFUNDS ON PRE-PURCHASED TITLES When you pre-purchase a title on Steam (and have paid for the title in advance), you can request a refund at any time prior to release of that title. The standard 14-day/two-hour refund period also applies, starting on the game’s release date.
Normally the automated system takes this into account. However refunds seem to be denied despite meeting the criteria.
You can create a manual ticket in order to process your refund.
In order to create a manual ticket do the following
My boy and I decided to take Odin out to Venice beach for a birthday weekend out. We made a reservation at a hotel and arrived. I will admit that I accidentally did not disclose that Odin was with me. I’m waiting for his new “service dog” vest to come in (and have been using his mesh “in training” vest since it’s summer here in Southern California and we live in the desert). I haven’t been vesting him today as the ADA states under titles II and III that an SD does not have to be vested nor identified by gear.
Well, when we arrived to the hotel, I told the receptionist that I had Odin and that he is a multi-purpose service dog. She told me that I needed documentation. I told her that there is no legal documentation necessary for service dogs in the US. She then pointed to some sort of documentation on the wall (that looked like it had come off some sort of scam site online because I have never seen it before even when I worked with a program in the beginning of his training and I... keep reading on reddit ➡

I see a lot of vague info online from airlines and other tourism focused businesses regarding refunds in the event of cancellation of travel plans due to COVID. I'm wondering what customers' actual experiences have been when you tried to recover funds invested in travel that is now not possible. Also, if you purchased travel insurance, did it cover your COVID-related cancellations?
I had two trips booked pre-COVID, one for a large US city that became the national COVID epicenter while I was supposed to be there, and one for five countries in Europe in the fall.
I canceled my domestic VRBO a month out, just before the second and final payment was due, and lost about $250. I had also purchased a museum pass for $200, which can be used for up to a year after purchase, and I don't know if I will be able to reschedule that trip in that time frame. Sick and fucking tired of seeing "I guess I'll just try to get my money back" on early access reviews because the game is incomplete. Early access does not mean "you get the completed game first". It means you get to be a small part of the process that helps it potentially become a complete game. Early access games should have a strict no-refund policy once they've been launched by the player. If you dont like being where you can see mistakes and incomplete projects, then wait for the full release. Im sure the devs love feedback and input from the community, but no one likes to be called names and no one cares about your unrelated experience as you try to justify being mean to a video game you bought. Just chill. All you're doing is shitting on someone's hard work and creating a toxic environment for the players who are willing to let these games have time to develop and are willing to help fund and support those projects in some way. In the past 3-4 years, my husband and I have gotten a refund upwards of $4k. Obviously, this is unideal: we'd rather the money be in our paychecks instead of one lump sum to permit for better budgeting, etc. Our taxes are a challenge to get right because my husband has self employed health insurance amount due to S-Corp / family attribution of grandfather's owned stock. Additionally, we add a dependent to the mix every other year! Last year we set out to have adjustments to our withholdings so it would be much less.
Well, we succeeded!!! We owe ~$500-$700. I'm finding its a lot less fun this time around! Ha! We weren't "banking" on having a large amount come in, but in the last few months have tossed around things like 'oh yeah, the tax return is still out there, so maybe we can do X or Y when we file'.

Just a post highlighting a difference I recently found.
While on paper the refund policy seems similar, Steam actually has some leeway with their refund policies, as I found out. I recently bought a game on Steam, played with a friend for about 2.5 hours, and decided I didn't really enjoy it.
Submitted a request for a refund stating "I did not enjoy this game as much as I thought I would" as the reason and submitted it; thinking 2.5 hours they would just deny it.
Got my refund with no fuss within an hour.
Now with Epic, I bought a game of about the same value. The difference is that I COULDN'T get the multiplayer part of the game to work. By the time we gave up, the play-time was at 2.5 hours.
I put in a request for a refund, and within 15 mins I got an email stating my refund was rejected. 2.5 hours of troubleshooting and no refund.
Take from this experience what you will, but I think I'm done with Epic games.
I asked for clarification about why the refund was rej... keep reading on reddit ➡
