We planted our radishes all at the same time, but a couple have sprung up while others are still tiny. Why is this?

Also, note the mottling on some of the radish leaves and the collard leaves, what is it and should we do anything about it?

Radish leaves when making stock?

Can you put in radish leaves when making chicken or beef stock (in addition to carrots, onions, etc)? Or even veggie stock? I save leftover bits of veggies to add in when making stocks, and I have some nice looking radish leaves that I want to toss in the bag with the rest. They should add nutrition but would it create any kind of "off taste" to the stock?

Thanks for any opinions or knowledge.

Can Blue-Tongue Skinks eat Radish Leaves?

I have a jerusalem cricket in a bin with a radish and some other things for food, and the radish is growing so well that I had to drill an extra-large vent hole for it to grow out of.

My question is, can Blue Tongue Skinks have radish leaves (and maybe the stem?) I know they can eat the actual radish, but I'm about to have an over-abundance of the leaves, so I thought I'd offer them to him first if they're safe.

Thanks!

Can radish sprout leaf or root once the tap root is cut off and the leaves are all yanked out?

So my mum buys radish (Daikon) type with the leaves all yanked out and just the tuber with a few straggly roots. I tried sprouting that and it started rotting https://vgy.me/u/IqTXMP. However I've seen people do this on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fCoaypCSZk

  1. How essential are the leaves to sprouting radish?
  2. How important is soil and contact/touch-of-soil to sprouting radish?

Can you just put the whole bald radish in a zip lock with some water in a cup (for water vapor) and expect it to sprout? What about substituting newspaper to act as soil in the ziplock (i have very rocky/clay soil https://vgy.me/u/srsdvv) it turns to a sticky paste.

  1. I've also seen people suspend the tuber in water.. using toothpicks.. is that to avoid pressure that will trigger the rot?

(i'm trying to grow a new plant for the seeds - the seeds i bought did not sprout so.. I thought this would be easier)

Radish leaves closing even with light!

Hello! I've always been interesting in gardening and I decided to build my first homemade hydroponics setup. I've tried some radish seeds since I've been told they are pretty easy to start with and they bloomed really quick! The setup gets 10h of sun light and 14h of artificial light (led lights, 10w, 200lumens), but they tend to close a little bit when the artificial lights are on! Do they need to get close to the light? Do they need some rest on their cycle? Or is completely normal? (The seedlings are 5-7 days old).

what ate my radish (leaves)?!

Hi everyone!

So I went to check on the plants this morning and the radish leaves are DESTROYED. It looks like something just came and ate all the leaves off--no holes, like literally there are NO leaves left except the stem. The radish is fine, but there is green poop (?) around it that looks like bug poop possibly(small, bright green pellets). Does that sound like anything you recognize? I planted the radishes around other plants so they would be a decoy plant for my other veggies, and my other plants seem ok right now (it's zukes and tomatoes in this section).

Just wondering if I should be worried! (I'm not yet but I will be soon if my zuke/tomatoes get ruined)
