Edit: Wow Didn't expect this to blow up! Thanks for the gold!
P.S. oh and I get it... you've got UPS..
I don't know about the other tank players out there, but as someone who traditionally is a big fan of playing tanks (Zac, Sejuani, Rammus etc.), this season's felt a little weird. I can build Sunfire Aegis and get a ton of damage and CDR... great... in the mid game there's a period of time where I can pretty much 100-0 squishy champions in my cc rotation, but once my damage falls off I just feel like paper. A lot of tank legendary items feel so much worse to build than their old counterparts (ie. Randuins) and especially MR itemization is a god damn disaster. If the enemy has an AP mage building Liandry's it feels like you need 2 dedicated MR items just to tank 1 champion's damage alone.
It's weird that champions like Aatrox, Olaf, Renekton can genuinely fulfill my role--that is soaking damage--better than I can.
Do any other tank players feel the same way this season, or is it just me?
Edit: Sort of a late edit, but a lot of people took this post to the extreme and interpreted it as wanting tanks to do 0 damage and become literally unkillable. Don't take these numbers seriously, it's just an example for sake of argument, but: if they did -20% damage and +20% tankyness, would they do so little damage that you could walk past them and ignore them? Generally my biggest complaint is to the itemization changes to tanks. A lot of stats were removed from popular tank items (ie. Abyssal Mask, Randuins HP, FH armor, Dead Man's armor) or popular items were removed altogether from our pool (Locket, Adaptive Helm).
I know that's a wild ride of a title, but I promise it's all true so buckle up
When I was in eighth grade, I was in the first year of an experimental technology school. I had a class of about 180 eighth graders (12-14 year olds) and about 10 teachers. So everybody shared the same math teacher. For our first semester we used a software called Gage. Its was alright for most classes, but it was absolutely atrocious when it came to math. Nothing worked with math. We were supposed to use the lessons they had, but it just didn't work. Math symbols didnt show up right and some questions even had the wrong answer marked.
My math teacher wasn't allowed to just move to paper, and the company insisted that the problem was that our math teacher was older and just didn't understand technology. They said that if she had a genuine issue to email them.
One day, I get to class, and there are 7 email addresses written on the board. She told us that we were going to go through our math lesson today, and take screenshots of every mistake we found and email them to the companies executives. One screenshots = one email. 10 emails = a packet of gummy bears. We had a blast trying to send as many emails as we could. One kid got ten packets of gummy bears by end of the hour class.
By lunch the principal called my teacher aside and asked for her to stop. She said "Hell no! My afternoon classes haven't had fun yet!"
Long story short, our school district got all of its money back from using the software, and the company no longer exists (or they changed their brand out of shame. Idk, I just cant find them anymore)
Tl;dr: the software company said to email if she found a actual issue, so she had an army of either graders, inspired by gummy bears, send thousands of emails to the CEO and other executives.
I gave in and pulled for her. Saw way too many youtube videos. Not only that, so many variations of her whether its Whales or F2P and in all of them its extremely evident to anyone that understands even the bare basics of the game. Ganyu is broken as all hell. Ever since I pulled her, I have almost doubled my hunting success. Seriously, it used to take skill to hit BOTH cranes before they flew off, now I can get both of them and any bystanders. Never before have I went to boar territory and walked away with anything more than 6 steaks. Today I walked off with a WHOPPING 16 steaks. Ganyu is the very definition of P2W power creep and I fear Genshin is going to only go downhill from here.
Don't like it, stop playing, it's the only message they'll hear.
You can post all you want here and rack up tens of thousands of post karma and a bunch of little reddit awards and as long as you're still logging in and playing the game the only thing Bungie sees is another engaged player.
There's no such thing as conditional support, if you're playing the game you're signaling that you're happy by your continued engagement.
