[Spoilers Extended] On the Poem that Inspired ASOIAF’s Title and How it May Relate to the Plot

It’s often said that the β€œSong of Ice and Fire” relates the wedding of Stark and Targaryen genes resulting in Jon Snow - this has become nigh on understood fact among the fandom of ASOIAF. But isn’t that a rather huge assumption to make, especially considering the following passage from Dany’s HotU visions?

>The man had her brother’s hair, but he was taller, and his eyes were a dark indigo rather than lilac.
β€œAegon,” he said to a woman nursing a newborn babe in a great wooden bed. β€œWhat better name for a king?”
β€œWill you make a song for him?” the woman asked.
β€œHe has a song,” the man replied. β€œHe is the prince that was promised, and his is the song of ice and fire.”

β€” Daenerys, ACOK

By any reasonable take that’s Rhaegar and Elia naming their son Aegon shortly following his birth, and what’s most striking there is that he is the Prince That Was Promised and his is the Song of Ice and Fire, not Jon’s, who is also likely referred to just thereafter :

>He looke

Crazy concept but you can rearrange the Star Wars titles, and somehow it better describes the movie's plot.

Episode I: A New Hope

Episode II: Rise of Skywalker

Episode III: Attack of the Clones

Episode IV: The Force Awakens

Episode V: Revenge of the Sith

Episode VI: The Last Jedi

Episode VII: The Empire Strikes Back

Episode VIII: Return of the Jedi

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] I saw a movie a long time ago, can recall title or actors, only the plot..kinda

Ok, so the movie starts with an elementary school, and then all the kids gather outside because something is going to happen, what is going to happen is that a boy and a girl are going to touch each other(?) or get close to each other, something bad happen, dont know if a bird dies on the spot or something lika that

The plot is kinda like, they cant be close to each other, so they go separete ways, years later they get in touch together and start dating, nothing bad happens, and sometimes the guy says random words

Then we found out that those words generated by his phone, are like an enchanment that lets the boy and girl be together without anything bad happening, but she founds out and then she doesnt want to be with him anymore

That's all I remember, hope someone can help me!

Future teacher trying to track down the title and author of a fantasy short story that I loved - does this plot sound familiar?

My google-fu isn't working for me, so I thought I'd de-lurk and ask for help. This is a long shot, but I'm crossing my fingers.

Several years ago I read a short story in a fantasy collection that I thought was particularly haunting - I remember looking up other works by the same author because I was so impressed. Unfortunately, my menopausal brain has not been helpful in bringing the author and title back to mind now.

The short story was set after your typical high fantasy series, where a queen fights in the night, year after year, to save her husband the king from his nightmares and hallucinations and suicidal thoughts. The basic premise is that he did the typical heroic things we read about in epic fantasy, but she is a quiet hero of a different kind, who saves him again and again from the fallout of battling the Big Evil.

It was a beautiful story that has stayed with me for years and I'd like to track it down again. I'm about to start my last practicum before becoming a hig

Need help finding an old story; can remember plot details but not the author or title.

I read the story 10 years ago, but I believe it is much older than that as I was reading Asimov and Clarke stories around then.
It was either a short novel, or somewhat-long short-story; maybe a series of short stories.
The setting is on a space station of sorts, but the inhabitants are not familiar with its original creators or purpose. The station is a port for explorers, who will be chosen by lottery, to board strange ships to unknown destinations. While some return in a couple days and are sent again to the same place, others can be gone for weeks, possibly even never return.
The specific journey involves a lucky explorer chosen to go on a new trip that takes a long time. They know when they are close to the destination by a metal coil in the ship changing shape or color and then returning to normal on the way back. When they arrive they find a group of explorers that were sent years ago but they survived because they are close to a black hole and the extreme time dilation ha

I read a LOT of books when I was younger. I spent a great deal of my free time reading and I enjoyed the actual activity of reading so much I read a lot of books I didn't necessarily love story wise. Sometimes I didn't get to finish a book for whatever reason.

[TOMT][BOOK][AUDIOBOOK] I cannot for the life of me remember the author or title or I wouldn’t be here, I vaguely remember the plot and it’s been bothering me for awhile now.

When I was younger around 7-9 (think around 2010s) my grandma would take me to the local library and check out an audio book. I distinctly remember bits of this one specific story but cannot for the life of me remember, anyway here’s what I remember from it: It features a little kid (boy?) and old neighbor and a 3 legged cat. The kid gets these gifts from somewhere(?) and he has to throw them into the wind on this hill or something to get good luck. However there’s this one item that’s a rocking horse, apparently people have tried to destroy it because it’s evil but whenever they burned it it would be good as new, anyway eventually for reasons unknown to me the kid ends up using the horses magic and the three legged cat dies because of it ( :( ). Not the best audio book for a kid lol I remember being terrified

I’m sorry if it’s not a lot, for all I know it could be an old fever dream but the details feel to real to me. I want to genuinely find this book and re-read it but my previou

[TOMT] [Movie] [Im not sure the date] I remember some of the plot for it but can not remember the title

I remember watching a film, I'm pretty sure it was British and it starts with an English boy being chased by bullies when he sees a suspicious man coming out of a building. I don't remember exactly what he does but the boy then realises that he killed the people in the building and he wants to learn how to do it, so he goes to the mans house and asks to help and this is another part that I'm not sure of - I'm pretty sure the guy beats him up but the boy doesn't give up, so the guy takes him in and teaches him his ways.

I also remember a scene of him throwing someone out of a window and shooting glass at the tyre of someone's car and it slamming into a bus stop, killing his target.

I've tried looking up these things and can't find anything.
