I sustained very bad injuries to my face this month. I'm in the stage of healing when the scar tissue has formed, but it's still very tender "new skin". I'm going to have very obvious facial scarring for the rest of my life. The injury starts about an inch above my hairline, goes down over my brow so that on part, hair will not grow. It continues down my cheek where it is deepest; I'll always probably have an indentation in the fullest part of my cheek. Then it continues to my jawline.
In some ways it's OK. I'm happy it's just cosmetic damage. My friends are super reassuring, telling me how badass and sick it's gonna look. They say I'm still as hot as ever, now a little more sexy and mysterious lol.
But in some ways it really sucks... I know that I'm always gonna be seen first as "the girl with the scar" and it feels especially bad when people look at me differently.
This week, I had to fly home for a family thing; it was a plan I'd made long before my injury. I wasn't really look... keep reading on reddit ➡
I do not give anyone permission to post this elsewhere.
Title is pretty much it. I had to fly for work today, which isn’t unusual. The flights are always short and within the same region, so maybe 2.5 hrs max. Today I boarded my 6am flight and settled into my window seat.
A few minutes later, a nice family of 4 comes and splits between my side and the opposite side of the aisle. On my side, the mother and her son sat next to me (son is maybe 7-9) and the father and young daughter (4ish) sat opposite side along with another unrelated passenger. The son was obviously sick, though not terribly. He has a slight cough and runny nose, but with the Coronavirus epidemic going on, he definitely caught the eye of the other travelers (and a few loudly wondered why he was even allowed on the plane, which I absolutely agreed with). He was in the aisle seat and his mom sat next to me, he seemed to be having trouble sleeping, and the mom looked exhausted, so I offered the boy my window seat, figuri... keep reading on reddit ➡
I’ve had an all-day trip with two flights, one being 8h and other 10h with 1h40m overlay. I was planned to land at 6:20 AM and had a job interview at my workplace at 9 AM so I really needed to get at least some sleep. First flight was kind of horrid and I managed to get barely any sleep, and I was kind of dreading the 2nd one already, but I get there and it’s just me and an older man with an empty middle seat in between. I’m quite tall so this worked perfectly as I could spread my legs and fall asleep nicely. However, flight attendant comes up to me and asks me if I would be open to giving up my seat so brother and sister can sit together (she said they’re young, don’t know how old). I asked where I’d be moving and she said “Miss, just follow me, I’ll show you everything”. So I thought for a second and realized that wherever she puts me it will be a worse deal than what I have now, and if it was any other situation, I would totally give my seat up, but I REALLY needed to get some rest,... keep reading on reddit ➡
One of the flight attendants notices this and quickly shouts: “People of the plane, we’re having an emergency! Is anyone on this plane a doctor?”
Immediately, five people stand up and say "I'm not a doctor, but...
So I'll keep this brief, wife and I are in our middle twenties, and decided to fly over seas a bit ago, and on the flight she uses her DS Lite and I use my 3Ds. Ever so often I see this child staring at us from the aisle seat next to us. He's maybe eight or nine? Just stares in between watching a cartoon on the screen of the chair. My wife decided to nap and I have the bag with her electronic by my leg while I continue to game.
And I see a hand start to reach over. So I look over and ask him what he thinks he's doing. He says he's bored and wants to play. His mom says his Switch is in the luggage underneath when he starts to whine and fuss. She asked if he could use the Ds and how it's not like he would break it or steal it. I wake up my wife and tell her about it, she just looks annoyed, takes the bag in her lap and says no, that she's not cool with that.
Long story short the child starts screaming and crying how he wants to play, he's bored, and his dad by the window snaps... keep reading on reddit ➡
My husband and I have two children: 13f and 9m. We recently took a 3 hour flight to go on holiday. Since we don't fly very often, the kids were keen to get window seats so we reserved them in advance. The day before we left, my daughter was prescribed antibiotics for a UTI. When we checked in, I asked if we could change reservations so that she had an isle seat (closer access to the toilet), but the plane was fully booked. I offered to swap seats with her for now, and said we would ask the person in the isle seat when they arrived if they would be willing to swap.
When we boarded the plane the seat set up was like this (window on the left, isle on the right):
9m | husband | old man (OM)
me | 13f | old woman (OW)
When OW arrived, I asked if she would be willing to switch since my daughter was unwell. I would have happily given her the choice of my window seat, or the middle seat, whichever she preferred. She responded quite angrily that she had paid for this seat and that if we want... keep reading on reddit ➡
So I am on my way across Europe and then back home. Mid January on I got masks, gloves and sanitizer in Spain, in anticipation for the journey home.
Last night a drink English guy literally harassed me the entire flight home (my seat mate) saying things like “are you afraid I’ll kill you, do you think you’re special”.
Today another English guy got on the plane looked at me and coughed open mouthed at me then laughed.
Seriously, WTF? Why are people so hostile to someone using safety gear?
Last week I travelled from the UK to Australia. On the flight from Dubai to Australia I had the aisle seat in one of the back rows with only 2 seats. The lady next to me in the window seat told me she thinks she's getting a UTI so she might have to use the loo a few times. I said no worries and we started watching movies.
However, after a few hours she started having to go every few minutes. It was night time and I wanted to sleep so I offered her to change seats after she just asked me to get up for the 10th time in 15 minutes. She said absolutely no way because she consciously booked the window seat so she could sleep better and watch out the window later. After 30 more minutes of getting up constantly I had had enough and asked her to switch again. Again she said no so I decided to pretend to be asleep. Next time she asked me I just didn't answer. She got pretty upset and threatened to call an FA over. I told her to go ahead but she didn't. After 10 more minutes of me not moving s... keep reading on reddit ➡
