The first question you may ask is why I would want to use anything *other* than WASD for my characters movement. The answer to this is simple, I like tinkering, but the backstory to this experiment began years ago, while playing Battlefield 3 and 4. I used to switch to my controller beside my keyboard to fly helicopters and planes, not because I had to, I just found it easier than using WASD and mouse. I quickly realised that the BF series allows simultaneous analogue and digital input, I could use my controller left analogue stick to move my character and still aim with the mouse. I instantly liked this, I just prefer the accuracy and feel of full freedom of movement that analogue input delivers. This had some problems which I will explain further down, but essentially this began a journey many years of experimentation across lots of peripherals.
I have made this guide/review for the dozen or so people out there who are also interested in this and like me, have fo... keep reading on reddit ➡
So I was watching this list on video game stealth rules that makes no sense and one of them in particular stood out to me: enemies with zero peripheral vision. It reminded me of this part in the recent BG3 demo, where a Goblin literally walks right past and next to a sneaking Lae'zel without detecting her because she is just outside his extremely narrow cone of vision.
I don't know about you, but I think it would be far better to increase the width of their vision cone (give them some peripheral vision) so that they can actually see what's happening on their sides. Maybe not as much as would be realistic, but enough that extremely odd looking moments like this don't occur.
What do you think? Should this be changed, or will it make sneaking too difficult? Additionally, what about spiders and other enemies with multiple eyes, how should their vision cones be handled?
<3 hope you all find this helpful.

Hello, I am from a third world country and money is really hard to get here especially for a 16 yr. old like me who earns roughly $6 a week just by doing alot of housework by myself.
Me and my brother started building up a pc almost 4 years ago which are made up of purely budget specs.
We are currently done with the center parts including all the RAM and stuff. The only thing that's left for buying are peripherals and the desktop monitor.
I already bought a mouse, the only thing left for me to buy is the monitor, keyboard, and headphones.
I have been browsing on our local amazon for a while and it gave me the idea that I should save up my $14 to buy a monitor since they cost $100 and it would be a good investment for us because it's very durable and well-made. The only problem is that the peripherals are really old, they have been in our pc for about the same time we got the PC, but to my surprise, they are still preferably okay.
So, reddit, should I go buy for a keyboard/headphon... keep reading on reddit ➡
First time posting here, so let me know if I'm doing it wrong please. I'm either building or buying a PC in the near future (first gaming PC) since I recently got into gaming a few months ago and have been obsessed. I'm so excited to eventually deck my little happy place + my computers out and I kind of wanted to get some ideas as well as hear what necessary (subjective) items personally improve your happy place. What are your must have peripherals/items/decor in your happy place?
I love my new oculus rift S and it is perfect, apart from the fact that I sometimes see everything less sharp but that can be corrected by changing the way how my rift S sits on my head. But there is one issue that kinda annoys me, nothing deal-breaking I might add, but still annoying, when I play I can see blackboards (I guess the outline of my headset) in my vision. Can I fix this or make it less noticeable or do I just have to live with it?
For context, the hmd is as close to my eyes/face as possible and my IPD is around 60 maybe a bit below that.
So, in the last three years, I've been saving money to buy a new Pc. when my grandma got the word of it she told me spend more money on the pc an that she would buy the monitor, the keyboard and all the other peripherals.
Early this year I got all the money that i needed and started ordering the the parts to build it. in March all the parts arrived and I started build it. With all the time it took, the Covid pandemic started as you all now. When I went to talk about the peripherals with my grandma my mom told me to wait, and that it wasn't the right time to do it and I waited... And I'm still waiting. I don't have any peripherals for it.
I don't want to be an AH but I've a brand new pc for 4 months that I can't use. And I don't know how my Gm financial situation is...
WIBTAH for asking? And if not, how should I ask?
Edit 1 and 2: Add Info
Apologies in advance if this has been asked, I didn't see a thread that covers it.
I am a complete 3d printing noob, and it's going to be quite some weeks until I receive my I3 MK3S.
However, from watching so many YouTube videos on 3d printing I see that people have all sorts of extra tools and peripherals as part of 3d printing ...
So I'm asking the community to help me build a list of the things I need to buy and/or things that would be a good idea to buy.
A couple things come to mind from watching videos ... Some kind of shears or pliers for clipping support off the printed item ... What are a good pair to get ? Is one type enough or are their different types for different prints ? i.e maybe there's long nose and short nose versions ...
Second ... Sand papers for post processing .... Recommendations and suggestions for the various types/grades, and best brands would be most appreciated ...
Glues ? ... Are there specific glues to use when using them with 3d (PLA) prints ?

I've been interested/curious on how usb peripherals are designed, like usb hubs and power bricks. Any resources to learn more?
I work from home full-time (even before COVID) and I have my computer in a bedroom I use as an office. I've noticed my office stays noticeably warmer than any other room in the house. As in walk into the hallway and immediately feel a very noticeable temperature drop. After moving my office from one room to another I've determined it is my PC and/or monitors pumping out the heat into the room. This room used to stay cooler and the room I was using now stays cooler than it did when I was using it. So... my question is does PCMR think if I were to upgrade either my whole system or some pieces of it that I could reduce the heat output? My CPU and GPU aren't running hot.
Yes... my rig is fairly old, but so far still does everything I need for work (much to the dismay of my upgrade to desire). Not saying a new Ryzen build with more RAM wouldn't benefit my VMs, but I make out fine now.
My system specs are:
Case: Fractal Design Define R2 XL
CPU: Core i7-3770K (no OC at this t
I've had this this weird vision thing since I was young. It doesnt effect me too bad but lately it has gotten really hard to see at night. I HATE Drs visits and have not seen anyone regarding any of this ever. Recently I brought this up to my Optician when I went in for new glasses. She said that it is not normal and i need to see a specialist. Should I be worried?
So do you guys see constant tv static too?
After quitting, did anyone notice wierd little flashes of things every now and then in their peripheral vision? Not like full blown seeing things, idk how to explain it. Also every now and then my memory has been screwing up, I've had a few instances where I've had to double-take people because I thought it was someone I know, stuff like that. Other weird symptom, when I'm falling asleep and waking up in that half-dream-like state, sometimes it feels like I hear things. Never voices or anything, just sounds. Then I freak out and check to see if I'm hearing things. So sick of this making me feel like I'm losing my mind..
Good morning. I’m going to have to build a replacement for my 6 year old intel box. WoW, Diablo and PoE are about as much gaming horsepower as this will see, but my wife and I do enjoy heavy Lightroom and some Photoshop work as hobbyists.
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable old IT Linux sysadmin dude with a few PC builds already under my belt...and mostly informed on the technology, but I’m horrible at making a decision on how to spend my own money ! 😆
Likely AMD cpu but honestly agnostic and seeking best performance. Same for card brand.
This will be a full build with new KVM bits too - monitor in particular - where an under $2000 total is the goal. I don’t want to spend this much necessarily so feel free to right size my expectations! Thanks !
Closed, I just decided to build my own, fuck it

YES. THIS A GOOD KEYBOARD. I do have an issue with the price of the keyboard, but if you're a top-tier player making good money on Fortnite, then this board is definitely for you. Price : $200 + Shipping OBO , I'm willing to cover half of shipping cost PC SOLD
I also have some gaming peripherals, but right now I'm not willing to ship any of them out since there's little profit in it but I'll post them as well

Every once in a while my PC will freeze and about 2-5 seconds later both monitors and all peripherals lose power. The case fans and cpu fan+LED stay working. I have to hold the power button down to turn it off. It seems to mostly happen just browsing the web or on the desktop, and I don't think its happened while gaming. This might not be related, but I've also had trouble getting consistent performance in some games. For instance overlay will say I am always getting 165fps (the limit i set) in Rocket League, but sometimes it will be buttery smooth, and other times it will be horribly stuttery (still saying 165fps though). Any suggestions about how to trouble shoot? I don't have spare parts I can swap. Thanks. I have tried fresh windows a few times with no change.

Pls give me some tips or reassurance about this .
I've been practicing TMI seriously now for about 50 days and I'm currently going back and forth between stages 2 and 3. I've been struggling to maintain peripheral awareness and perceiving the difference between awareness and attention, because I'm not totally sure of how they feel.
So, when I'm doing the meditation practice and keeping the attention on the sensations of the breath, I sometimes start to wonder whether I'm allowing peripheral awareness to function fully. And then when I focus on trying to maintain peripheral awareness, it pretty much feels like my attention is then oscillating between the breath sensations and everything else in consciousness one object at a time. But I kind of feel like I "have to" choose which things I oscillate my attention between.
So for example, let's assume that there's a bird singing, AC unit making a hum and pain in my right shoulder. When I focus attention on the breath, and realize I need to maintain peripheral awareness, it feels lik... keep reading on reddit ➡
I know that in order to enter it, you need to make the breath the only thing that exists - leaving no room for distractions. But does it mean that in order to do that I need to drop the peripheral awareness and especially the introprespective one once I feel attention is stable ?
P.s -I'm at stage 4-5. Will appreciate your guidance here, Thanks!🧘♀️
Reason for PC Building : Versatlity and not just gaming, so programming, video editing, miscellaneous heavy applications. All with using these parallely/simultaneously.
I want the PC to last 5-7 years without any big upates, i.e. futureproofing.
PSU : corsair hx 750watts (it might be overkill but i have been told to keep psu 30-40% above my requirements in terms of wattage)
Processor : Initially i wanted to go with i5 k series 9th gen but now i am hearing a lot of good things about AMD 3600x , its got better threads and cache and also cheaper. So you guys decide.
Motherboard : for intel based chipset i am thinking Asus strix B365G, Otherwise for amd chipset i'd go for MsI B450 tomahawk
GPU: I am still undecided between nvidia 1660ti and 1060 ti, because i do want higher fps and plan to buy a 144hz 1440p monitor. So tell.me which one of two. Also consider 5700xt I can squeeze it if you guys think it's better
RAM : undecided between G.kill ripjaws and corsair vengeance, so tell.... keep reading on reddit ➡

I know I’m gonna buy a joystick and throttle combo but anything else?
I'm not sure how to describe it accurately, but I see faint and subtle lights in my peripheral vision when I run. I wouldn't describe it as a flash. It happens in tandem with each bounce of my feet. It's most notable during the daytime and when looking at the sky while running. Does anyone else see this?
I have read varying levels of risk associated using wired vs wireless peripherals when using tails due to keylogging and virus poisoning. Is there anything conclusive on this? I use a proper wired keyboard, mouse and ethernet but I am just curious.
The last time I had any rechems or acid/shrooms was at least 8 years ago. I've had the kaleidoscope vision when I close my eyes for a while now and the random sparkles that I had in the beginning has been long gone but now I get these objects that I see on the periphery but when I look, they're gone. And a few seconds later another similar looking object is someone else in my periphery... Could it be from all the psychedelics, rechems, etc etc etc etc taken that's causing these things? They're definitely not floaters as these bug objects are definitely attached to a physical wall or furniture. They'll actually sometimes move as long I only pay attention to my periphery and not look at it. Or I suppose it could be early onset of schizophrenia too..
we've had an issue with the USB-C/DP adapter that we've been shipping with XMG FUSION 15. On certain BIOS versions, the adapter would not be recognized after Cold Boot and Reboot. It would only be consistently recognized when unplugged and re-plugged.
In the beginning, we didn't expect this to be a issue with the adapter itself because Intel was able to fix it with a BIOS update around October 2019.
Then later, the issue came back with some BIOS update and had to be fixed again. During that time, Intel had some major restructuring on the USB-C/Thunderbolt firmware of this Intel reference design. These updates were based around how Power Delivery is managed on the USB-C port.
Now it seems like there is a conflict between the workaround for our USB-C/DP adapter and the general new solution for Thunderbolt which was posted in BIOS 0064 and Thunderbolt Firmware NVM v56.
The last workaround for our USB-C/DP issue was in BIOS 0062. Now with the release of BIOS 0114 in June... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hi everyone, i have a "Trust Rexx" mouse and didnt found any software for linux on DuckDuckGo and the original is Windows only, will i be able to use it in Wine or are there any native workarounds for this?
I've been playing escape from tarkov for 2 months now and been struggling with everything. I usually don't struggle in games much. I just suck at games. I had accepted this.
I have been saying for years that your peripherals can not make you a better player. My friends all disagreed and claimed the reason I sucked at any game that wasn't strategy or racing.
I got a new monitor and keyboard. Holy shit, my first game on the new peripherals I got more kills than my entire 2 months of playing the game. I completed 3 tasks in one night. It was intense.
Tldr: Old monitor: 42" 4k 60hz New monitor: 34" 1440p 144hz ultrawide Old keyboard: thermaltake Poseidon mxblues New keyboard: Logitech g915 til
Old avg kill count per raid: 1 scav New avg kill count: 2 scavs 2 pmc
And I can't even run 144fps yet. Wow. Just wow. Doing consistent kills on consecutive raids blew my mind.
how can peripherals make that much of a difference?
I was diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy in May because all of a sudden my thumb went numb working from home with poor posture on my couch during the pandemic. It progressed to tingling in my thumb, index, middle finger and about half of my ring finger on my left hand. When I bow my head/crane my neck, I’ll get a surge of electrical-like feeling down my spine and it radiates into my left arm but also both my legs. A telehealth visit with my doc led me to physical therapy for this ... and it doesn’t seem to be helping (yet). Thing is, I also have peripheral neuropathy that came on as an adverse side effect from taking Levaquin in 2016. That was mostly tingling in the hands and feet. This pinched nerve is only affecting one side. But I wonder if it could also be aggravating damaged peripheral nerves? I have constantly tingling and, almost feels like rumbling in my legs and feet, something that surfaced about a week ago. My PN changes/cycles ... my feet felt numb for a month before thi... keep reading on reddit ➡
