Hello! Does anyone here besides me feels something like shortness of breath(you cannot inhale to the point of "satisfaction") when you move fast, or doing something or just anxious, but when you calm yourself and stand on one place or lie down everything's okay? How it works????
My lease states that rent cannot be increased by more than 10%, but Iβve just been told it will be increased by 17%.
Iβve been in this house for a few years and always get nothing less than glowing comments about how I treat the property. Two months prior to my lease ending I attempted to contact my property manager about resigning my lease, and I was met with βIβm really flat out at the moment Iβm sorry theyβll be renewed soonβ. This didnβt seem sus to me because itβs a busy time of year and the property manager is usually great. I contacted the property manager about three more times prior to the lease ending and was met with the same line. My lease has now ended and I still have not been allowed to renew it, but a few days AFTER it ending was sent an offer for a βNEW leaseβ at a 17% increase when the COVID safety period has ended.
I re-read my old lease and it made me realise that they had purposely ignored my attempts at renewal to allow the lease to lapse into periodical, which allowed them to increase the rent beyond 10%. They also only offered a 6 month lease when I asked for a 12 month, stating βCOVID uncertaintyβ.
I donβt know what I can do, because there arenβt any other suited properties around because of the COVID chaos and I donβt want to bite the hand of the house Iβm living in. Literally any input would be appreciated.
>TL;DR: I'm cleaning out an old house that belonged to a 20th century teacher that has many excellently preserved informational booklets, periodicals, newspapers, and similar ephemera from about 1890 - 1960, with most being circa 1930s. I'd like to put these materials into the proper hands who will best use/preserve them, which I strongly feel is what the teacher would have wanted. However I'm unsure who to contact.
To make a long story slightly more succinct, there's a house which has sat abandoned for several decades on a property I use for my horses. A couple methheads broke in, tossed the entire place, and took everything which wasn't paper, glass, or clothes (they were caught, but unfortunately not in time to recover what was taken). I've been cleaning the place out, as it was left in complete disarray. The wife of the house was the town school teacher (a cute little one-room schoolhouse is also on the property) and preserved a lot of printed materials, I assume for teachings (but also possibly a bit of a hoarder). So that's the back story.
On to the good part. I've found loads of booklets, newspapers, periodicals etc from ~1890 - 1960, with most being circa 1940. Many are in brand new condition (literally) as if they were printed yesterday. Much of the materials relate to state history and industry. There's also a lot of material about the rail roads, US Government, and other topics which would be relevant to school children. Also materials such as maps and informational posters. Much of the material seems to have been printed by companies such as life insurance or banks as educational materials, but aren't advertisements per say.
There's newspapers and periodicals (such as serials and what must have been analogous to magazines) from ~1890 - 1945, with most being around 1920. These are in less pristine condition, but many are simply discolored with age and still quite readable, with flexible paper. Some are in great condition. The papers are mostly state and local papers, but also a paper called Grit.
I emailed my county's archive and offered to give them the state-related teaching materials, which I feel strongly is what the lady, as the town school teacher, would have wanted. The relevant person in apparently on vacation or otherwise indisposed for a while though.
What should I do with the rest of the material? Are old newspapers, periodicals, and serials something I should attempt to place with an archive, and if so, what kind? Or
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've see a website or two selling copies, are these not available for download anywhere? I find that hard to believe.
I'm looking to compile all of them together and publish as a single, well formatted, entity. (if this doesn't already exist, which I don't believe it does)
Anarchist periodicals.
I've looked into Jacobin and Red Flag. There a few out there. Anyone care to say what they read and why? Subscriptions worth it?
Hi everyone, An absolute sun run of mine seem to have just ended, and this (for some reason) always leads to a short period of me starting to punt of stacks like a maniac (βpoker got hard again, boohooβ). I moved back down to NL4 from NL10 to get my head straight and I think Iβm getting there, but I just want to make sure that I am not misidentifying running a bit bad with playing like an idiot.
So to that end, here is a hand I played yesterday (and apologies in advance for any formatting mistakes - first time):
NL4, 6Max, 6 players, eff. stack 4β¬
(Havenβt played many hands with V, but have already caught him trying to bluff river twice after he missed his draws).
Preflop -Hero (H) opens to 0.10 K9ss in the CO -BTN calls 0.10 -SB raises to 0.36 -BB folds -H calls 0.26 -BTN calls 0.26
(Note: not a slamdunk call from us, but with the smallish sizing of the 3!, dead money from BTN, and Vs somewhat speewy tendencies a call seemed fine - right?)
Flop (pot: 1.12): 9h-Jc-4h -V bets 0.40 -H calls 0.40 -BTN folds
(Note: an ok flop for us. Although a part of Vs 3! range has us crushed (AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 99, AJ, KJs, QJs, TJs), a decent chunk of it, that it seem safe to assume he/she would c-bet, is overcards (e.g. AK, AQ, KQ) with or without a direct or backdoor FD, an open ended straight draw (QT), a gutter (KT, of which he might only cbet KThh), nut FDs (Axhh) and some hands with a backdoor straight draw (e.g. AT). This is, of course, assuming he is not betting his entire range, which it seems to me he should not do on this board (right?). At any rate, we call with the intention of folding if the turn makes things worse for us.
Turn (pot 1.92): 9h-Jc-4h(-Kc) V bets 0.96 Hero: ...?
What would you guys do in this spot?
So I live fairly close to London's Korea Town, New Malden. There are a couple of Korean supermarkets here, and one of them has newspapers in Korean just at the exit (the other might too, I just don't go there as frequently). What's more, they're completely free once you've finished your shopping!
There are a few different titles available, most of which come out weekly, so I've been able to pick a few up over the last couple of months.
Whilst I do try to make an effort to read news stories online in Korean, there's something about being able to pour over a newspaper that's a bit more immersive and less easy to flake out on, plus they tend to have local news which is a little more familiar to me.
So I thought, surely other Korean supermarkets in different countries and areas offer this?! Maybe it would be worth checking your local Korean supermarket if you have one!
Bonus: some libraries have a surprising number of books in different languages. Mine had quite a few in Korean, though sadly I think libraries here are shut down now or don't let you browse. There is also a possibility that if you live near a big Korean community, the libraries would have Korean newspapers you could read if you don't find any in a supermarket.
I have been using my OP6 for more than two years now, and I have had this issue for a while.
Whenever I don't touch my device for a while, it disconnects from Wi-Fi. I don't use 4G, I only have a prepaid SIM, so I am always running on my personal network or my works.
This issue is extremely irritating, as I cannot receive mails nor WhatsApp messages notifications until I take my phone, unlock it and make sure that Wi-Fi connects.
I have searched on the OnePlus support website for any solution but I was not able to find anything useful.
[EDIT] I want to point out that I never get disconnected during usage of the phone, only after I left it on my desk for a while.
