Why is her job not being scrutinized?
I'm looking for an alternative/dupe to Paula's choice Exfoliating Lotion. It's quite expensive for me and unavailable in my country, so the shipping fees also add to the already high price. Do you have any recommendations for similar products? I'm mainly looking for something to help with the blackheads on my nose and the occasional breakout.
I feel like Kyle is the new Paula aka one of the newest staple cast members who can’t really do anything well, yet somehow stays on with their confessional speeches and riding coattails of their partners. Is that just me?
Has this helped with your redness/rosacea? I have dry sensitive skin and struggle with redness and flushing.
Alright, so I guess last week was not the end because I have felt the need to declutter more stuff, which is ultimately good for everyone involved! I've got quite a bit of luxury, high-end makeup listed, as well as a nail polish bundle and skincare bundle. The makeup products are all grouped by brand and both bundles can be found at the bottom of the post.
Each of the brushes below has been washed but has not been used. They have been stored in a hanging position inside a closed, protective case.
Hi! Reposting this as I got mod approval.
I'm Annie, I have a podcast that covers beauty news, and I have only fangirl-ed over one of my interviewees so far: Paula Begoun. While I had massive respect for her business before the interview, and am an unofficial spokesperson for 2% BHA Skin Perfecting Toner, I walked away from this interview pretty obsessed with her.
Some interesting takeaways from our conversation:
-She's funny and completely endearing. Not just trying to hit a bunch of talking points to promote her brand.
-She was a skinfluencer long before social media/the internet. I bet a bunch of SCA's knew this, but I didn't realize she was already a bestselling beauty author before launching Paula's Choice.
-Related to the last point, she's kind of like that episode of South Park where they joke that the "Simpsons already did it," but Paula already did it. She was the first skincare brand to be on the internet she involved her community in product development, she married "content with commerce" with beautypedia/Paula's Choice, she even had a radio show on skincare and beauty news.
-She has no idea her brand is big on Tiktok, even though there's a ton of media coverage about how Paula's Choice is the most talked about brand on Tiktok.
-She didn't take on investment money until 7 years ago. That's INSANE considering she launched the brand in 1995.
-The 2% BHA Skin Perfecting Toner was a product she made for herself, her team didn't even want her to launch it.
-She does not believe in things like jade rolling/facial massage. She says it stretches the skin and creates sagging.
-She's obviously super rich from owning her own global beauty brand, but she recently traded her BMW for a Hyundai and prefers it way more. Lol I don't know I just think this is funny.
-She isn't anti-jar because of bacteria/etc, she's anti-jar because it decreases the efficacy of the formula by introducing air/etc.
Thanks for reading!
I’ve seen the episode with her a few times at the end of season 10 (if she’s in 11 I haven’t seen it) and each time I find myself disliking her more and more. Not only did she rob the Reagan’s of a chance to know Joe, their grandson great grandson and nephew, but she robbed her son of half a family. And here I think the writers were maybe being lazy because her reasons don’t really work. She obviously had to have told her son about his father in some way cause he ends up in the exact same unit. If she was concerned about her son being In the shadow of the Reagan’s why tell him about his father in any form because her son still ended up in the police in the exact same unit as his father. In the episode I don’t mind her until Frank says no to transferring Joe. Then she’s actually USING her son as leverage by basically saying you can’t see him until you do what I want. Which is also laughable because he is 24, not a minor. She can’t hold such power over him unless she’s manipulating her son by using like emotional blackmail. I think the writers made her incredibly unsympathetic and in many ways cruel and I hope they don’t intend to undo it because it’d be hard to forget how she was in this episode.
THIS IS IT-- THE END! Less dramatically speaking, this is the last bit of stuff that I have to sell and in hopes of getting it all gone and getting someone a great deal on some high quality products, everything has been split into bundles and SHIPPING IS FREE! It's almost entirely prestige and luxury items and I've tried to price them reasonably in order to get things gone sooner rather than later.
